I just want to say thank you for these tutorials, they are very thorough. I bought my first ever grill The PitBoss Lexington Onyx, and thanks to your videos I didn’t feel the least bit nervous assembling, performing the burn off, or my first cook. Keep em coming Scotty!
I am also a single person, that assembled this. I do not like they did not tell/show us where the screws were, nor that there were NO WORDS to the assembly guide. Pictures are nice, but I need words as well. Not much cussing happened, while assembling. My assembly happened in my dinning room, lol. I didn't/couldn't assemble as they instructed. I cannot lift the barrel up. I tilted it towards it's back, resting it on an old blanket... and DID put the legs on first. I placed 2 screws per leg, screwed in only half way. Luckily all of my screw holes lined up, think placing 2 screws per leg was the key. i was enjoying a beer while assembling. CHEERS! Hard for ONE MAN.... This ONE WOMAN DID IT! LOL I then nudged in the bottom rack.... screwed that in, put on wheels, lifted the whole thing up and tightened all screws, and added the additional screw that I left off of each leg. The cotter pins/keys, were they most issue for me, finger strength is not the best. Left over washers were for the wheels. Sticker came off easy. Use a hairdryer to loosen yours, and it will come off. Guide states it should take 30 min. It took me about 40. As it is 11pm, I will be doing my burn off in the morning. I have a pork loin and a tri tip waiting.... Thanks Scotty!!!
Great Video! I just received my Lexington pit boss, for Father’s Day, and watching this video really gave me the jumpstart I needed to put mine together! 😅
Great video Scotty. I have been on the fence about buying a pellet grill for some time now and I am leaning towards a Pit Boss from Walmart due to their price point. I greatly appreciated your unedited version of assembly for this Lexington Onyx model. You kept the video entertaining throughout with your friendly commentary. I will be sure to check out your other videos that show you put this baby to work. Thanks for all the information. The use of the drip bucket to keep track of all your bolts was a genius idea as I will likely be trying to assemble this thing solo as well. Happy Grillin!
I feel your pain Scotty. I've put several of these grills/smokers together, (I'm also a one man show with no help), and there is always something that just doesn't line up and you have to improvise. That sure is a great looking pit and a great addition to your arsenal and I'm anxiously awaiting your first cook. Nice upgrade to your Pit Boss Lexington Collection. We all know how you love your other Pit Boss Lexington. I guess it pays to stick with what you love...with an upgraded version of course 😉Loved the whole video and your funny commentary in spots...for example...I'm sweating like a w***e in a church 🤭
If you already have a Weber Smokefire why would you need another pellet grill and an inferior one to boot? Your answer might help me decide on my pellet grill decision. Currently I have it down to 2 pellet grills I am considering. The Zgrills ZPG-7052B with double wall construction or the Onyx Lexington.
That looks sweet love this channel very informative and sweet just need some of the amazing food lol do you ship overnight love the channel man very good stuff can't wait to see what u cook
Hi! Excellent video! I had been holding the buy of the Lexington for a while and this new one came out! Not the same price though ($347 for the Onyx, $267 for the original). Do you think the extra cost is worth it? Seems the new controller is an improvement over the original, I think this is why they eliminated the front gage, as I heard the heat sometimes blasted on the sensor, giving a temperature difference, but I will wait until the cook-off for your opinion on that! Eager to watch the side-by-side comparison! Keep those videos coming, God bless!

@@frankcabrera6319 2 chickens. Maybe 4 racks ribs
@@ScottysBackYardBBQ so it's big enough for 2 chickens and a couple of pork ribs?

The fan that blows / should blow air / smoke in the pit not working.
Your fan is not working. ?. Unplug unit. Pull cover off. Bottom. See if it's plugged in. Turn fan with finger.
Use a scribe
Thanks. I appreciate it.
