I have had the Gen 2 SF for about two years and has worked flawlessly. It’s like anything in life…you take care of things and use them as designed they will last and work correctly. This dude clearly did not take care of this unit. 100% user error.
After Weber has discontinued the SmokeFire series after trying to band aid it twice, I cannot believe there are still people defending the SmokeFire. The Searwood completely changed the design to fix the flaws. If you haven't had issues with your SmokeFire, that's good but do not discount the issues that others have had. Part of the issue is that the Smokefire is so finicky that common user errors can trigger issues, which in itself is a design flaw.
@@t-bonesdirtydeedsllc8108 it’s not the grates and the catch tray you only have to clean, in the manual it specifically says, clean out the auger, if you pull it out you’ll be amazed to find a build up of unburnt compressed pellet. What happens is that it builds up from all that turning and grinding and it creates friction in the chamber, slows down the auger turn and in turn stops an even pellet drop, which will cause you intermittent fire/smoke problems.
Have a gen1, no issues. The early software builds did suck, but it's much better now. Just make sure the smoker is balanced and level, so grease runs down properly.
i have same issues. it cant gain hight temp like 600F. stops 400F and the deacrease the temp. it is pain for pitmaster. iam so tired of it. and i do everything rtight with it.
Lol,, you should clean that grill, it helps a lot! The ash pot needs to be cleaned between each cook! A putty knife to scrape and a shop vac to wonders! If all that ash sets on the bottom, it will hold moisture and the steel will rust! Part of cooking on a grill is properly cleaning when done! Doesn’t matter what brand you have!
So I am not interested in attacking you over your video the way some people in the comments have, but I do have a couple suggestions. 1. You absolutely have to clean your grill better. Yes, a pellet grill is more fussy than a propane grill, but they work well with proper maintenance.2. contact weber for the gen 2 upgrade parts.
Sounds like ALL your issues are self inflicted. This is an awesome smoker and I've had very little issues with mine and it's one of the very first on the market and a first gen model with all the upgrades. So, operator error is why you're not happy with it. When properly maintained, it's flawless and smokes better than my Big Green Egg!
Come on man , looks like your grille is well used, so it can’t be that bad, I’m willing to bet you got some great cooks out of this thing. I will say this , I keep my grille maintained and I have never had a problem ,your looks like it needs some temp probe cleaning and tlc.
Agree 100% The SmokeFire is a waste of money. The feeder jams all the time. Not some of the time, or most of the time, all the f-ing time. Buy anything else.
The Smokefire was a complete failure and disaster for Weber. But there are enough idiots out there to buy their Searwood experiment. Pit Boss, ZGrills and Traeger have been sellin top notch pellet grills for years. Less expensive...better quality.
Weber has been doing a massive exchange of the Searwood for Smokefires recently if you contact customer service. So alot of them you see were giving away.
Lazy people should stick to microwave ovens and crock pots.
Preventive maintenance and cleaning is your friend.
Or, they can make one that works and isn't a high maintenance biotch
Smokefire is the best pellet cooker on the market. Period. This guy doesn’t know shit

Looks like you got the gen1, big difference with gen2, probably worth cleaning your bbq a bit more too.
Nope, gen2
I clean the grates all the time and empty the catch tray. The rest of the issues are design flaws

Don't doubt you had problems, I've got one with a few problems as well. Everything I saw in the video, grill, deck, etc. was just plain nasty.

Exactly the same issues I’ve had with this damn grill. So expensive for such a poor design. Weber gives you the run around to get things resolved.
looks like this guy needs to have his wife take over the bbq duties never seen such a mess!

Never had an issue with a charcoal or propane. This this is high maintenance and problematic

Is this gen 1 or gen 2 ?
How can I tell? Bought it early 2022

How many failed cooked and letdowns should I tolerate on a grill that costs over $1000?
