Thanks for the update. There's always something going on in the fish basement, keeps you young lol. Really enjoying all the different tanks. They all have their own feel, which must be rewarding for you as a hobbyist. I look forward to the reef slope and the 3000 updates, should be really cool. Thanks for always taking the time to engage with us in the comments on top of these great videos, take care!
Hey Phil! In general you are right about being active in the fish basement keeping me young, but after doing a ton of work down there yesterday my back doesn't agree LOL :-) I love the look of the Reef Slope tank being 4 feet deep, but man what a pain to work in...no more tall tanks for me. :-) But it does look awesome now with the additional reef work and fish!
It is getting tough to decide which tank to watch when I take a break from work...Malawi River....Predator Bay....Discus Flooded Forest...LOL who am I kidding...I look at them all. :-)
You made de correct call changing the light's, I agree with you that the color of the fishes just poop up and the color of the light, is much better inside the aquarium, I hope that this move well balance yr nitrates level and estabilize yr problems.
Thanks Eues! Yeah I am liking these much better. I am also going to switch out the lights on the 600 & 750 to 6500k lights and just use the 5000-6000k lights for plant filters, refugiums and things like that.
I really, really love all your videos even the salt water ones,,,, when i had discus I use to power feed them and do water changes every 3 days but I understand is hard for you bcuz you have way more tanks than me,,, and can wait till make that video on the 3000 gallons,,, thanks for sharing 👍💯
Add amano shrimp to help with the extra algea control as well.. they will eat hair algea and you got the perfect setup for it even the discus won't eat them.
Thanks Drayo! These are Current USA Satellite Plus PRO LED Lights. I bought them a year back when Current had a sale on them, but I think they are sold on Amazon and aquarium supply sites as well.
Hey Colin! Pretty much the only thing I am doing different with this aquarium than my others is a slightly higher temp 78-80 F (other tanks run 76-80) and feeding foods designed for Discus with a higher protein content (45% protein).

@@AquariumDomain. Deep tanks are definitely a struggle to aquascape and maintain but they sure do look good lol.
@@philcarlino6942 Agreed! 🙂
I always love seeing your aquascapes man! Your tanks and fish always look so vibrant.
Thanks Fintastic Freaks! :-)
I really like you taking us through the process of getting a tank in balance.
Absolutely! :-)
Lights on the discus tank look much better.. Like you said make those fish pop a lot more👍
Hey Alan! For sure, getting the right lighting on a particular aquarium setup makes such a huge difference.
The discus look great! Awesome video on the system changes, looking forward to some reef slope videos!
The Low-Tech merger into the Reef Slope is this weekends project :-) I think it will look pretty good...at least the image in my head does LOL :-)
Do like that discus aquarium.

Thanks JC! I can't even imagine how fast your Discus must have grown...mine seem to have unlimited appetites and are growing quick! :-)
I strongly believe the fish at 4:41 in the middle/middle right in the Malawi river tank is holding dude.
Yeah noticed that...pretty much inevitable I guess with African Cichlids :-)
Don’t be surprised if you see pairing off and mating from the discus.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised lol :-)

Hey Ian! That is a good idea...adding Amano Shrimp to my livestock list. :-)
Really awesome tank , where did you find this lighting ?
Thanks Drayo! These are Current USA Satellite Plus PRO LED Lights. I bought them a year back when Current had a sale on them, but I think they are sold on Amazon and aquarium supply sites as well.
Very cool setup, do you have to do anything special to keep the discus healthy?

What brand are the new lights?
Hey Ervin! They are the Current USA Satellite Plus PRO LED Lights that I used to have on the 750 gallon. They are good lights for the price.
