The important things properly explained in a way that knowledgeable people won't grown and those not so knowledgeable can still understand the broad ideas. Not an easy feat and very well achieved here.
Yusuf Islam dual pixel technology has many usage, Samsung uses them for faster focusing while Google use them to predict depth of field. You will never know if Samsung uses this for other processing methods until you talk to their developers like in this video with the Google developers.
Dang ur videos with added animation really helps to visualize the information and help better inform us on the features. Thank You for educating us on the phone camera's hardware/software that improves the shot.
I admire 1) THE AMOUNT OF DETAILED INFORMATION. 2) YOUR HARDWORK FOR COLLECTING INFORMATION BY MEETING WITH SO MANY PEOPLE. I think getting appointments was time consuming. 3) PRESENTATION, Animation, editing all show how you were serious this video. ❤️
Whoa! Always loved the camera on my Pixel, but never know how much work was put into every step to make it that good. Pleased to see that the new Pixel is getting even better (I didn't even think that was possible). Thanks for all the info!
Absolute highlight of my week watching this video many thanks to Nat and all the production staff is this is one of the best nat friends video I've ever seen top job
You did such a good job of bringing the real technical aspects of the Pixel's camera down to a level that non technical (or semi technical) people can understand 👏👏
Seriously...This video presents information in such a decorative form and is so knowledgeable that I simply want to keep on watching it! (kudos to the editor of these videos specially)
Thank you for the video! Came here looking for Pixel 2 info, ended up learning so much about smartphone cameras and cameras in general! Really interesting topic that goes unnoticed in day to day life.
I hadn't heard of your channel before. I work with photography, so I know a lot about how cameras work, and it's very difficult to watch a video that goes by without an oversimplification or a mistake. This one hit the nail in the head : simple and technically correct, very informative. Impressive work.
I posted a tweet about seeing this exact type of video last night. This is so awesome, thank you for such and informative and well produced video. Fantastic, thank you 👍
I still really love your videos. It's beautifully made and holds such a wealth of information, not just about the Pixel 2 camera (which is amazing) but about digital photography science (which I now realised I knew an incredibly little amount about).
Thanks a lot. This answered so many questions. I just received my Pixel 2 XL today and I can't wait to test it out in the field. I'm so excited about the advancements that are being made in phone camera technology.
It's my first video of yours and i just can't say how much i learnt from it. Great work and very nice presentation for the avg person to understand. Thank you
This is very interesting. Imagine if it looked like the LG V30 with front facing speakers, this camera plus LG wide angle, that would be an epic smartphone.
NAT ! A Big thank you for being SO DIFFERENT, than all the other reviewers. You are in the same league as MKBHD, who happens to be my favourite Mobile Gadgets Reviewer. You are several notches ahead than many others, around the planet. For someone like us, common users, this is an incredibly well detailed video. THANK YOU 😊😊
I was skeptical as to how much details will the company reveal about their flagship camera, but I must say I was blown out. I would really like you to go ahead and make those videos about individual features you mentioned in the end. it would really be awesome.
The way you review such phone is too different compared to others . ..its so technical that you explained such small details with excellent animations..Thanks Nats and friends.
This is the best video that I have ever seen this video actually tells me all the important aspect not only present on the Google pixel camera but also how it works out now the fascinating thing is that you actually never told us to like or either subscribe to this channel right at the beginning which actually helps us to go ahead and watch the video at least for me till the end and to understand the topic to the best ever level today was the first view of my about the Google pixel camera on this video and I seriously would give up promoter as well as recommend my friends and colleagues to go ahead and watch this channel most precisely I would inform them to get the knowledge which you actually shared with you actually visited to the people who are actually bound with this Google pixel 2 thanks a lot and keep up the good work
Excellent video. I don't think there's another video here which explains these concepts in an easy to understand way. Thank you so much! Excellent presentation.
This video is really, really, REALLY, well made. It should be part of Google’s official Pixel 2 marketing media. Not those cringy switch from iPhone videos that Android users already know. As an enthusiast photographer myself, I loved how you animated the lens and the details such as lens elements and aberration. Subbed and please keep up the good work! The Pixel 2 is expensive and I was planning to skip it, seeing how Google seems to be targeting iPhone users. But this video probably helped me decide to buy the Pixel 2.
I really love what Google has done with the Pixel series of cameras. Just for my tastes it can't scratch that itch for manual mode and letting the shooter be more involved with the process. For point and shoot this is just perfect. For manual I always go with LG. I can't wait to see more images from the Pixel 2/XL.
Nothing I didn't know, but amazingly well presented & a VERY good starting point. Marc Levoy has some lectures on some of the details on computational photography. If your smartphone has a Snapdragon 820 or higher (Hexagon 680), you can probably get the Pixel 1's great processing by installing a modified Google Camera. The Pixel 2's processing may follow. The processing is just amazing. I want it. I'm a bit mad that the X compact (BAD stock camera) has a 600 series SoC.
Wow that was amazing!!! You're doing really grreeaatt job, well done!!!! 🙌👌 I mean, you've always done amazing and my mom loves to watch your videos. Thanks!
Amazing! Thanks for this information, this will make people think twice before saying, oh the phone camera is not good etc.. as so much effort goes into making of this.👍🏻
I am from Colombia and thank you for making an excellent explanation about the camera of the new Google Pixel 2. BTW, I have subscribed to your channel, it shows that it is very interesting. Best regards!👌🏻💯😉
This video makes me learn a lot about Google Pixel and camera, Fortunately, there are Chinese subtitles to help me understand the video content. I like your channel!!
Outstanding review.... brilliantly done!!!!! I am subscribing due to the reason that your review was not just technique and jagon it was actually interactive and helped me learn a lot..... Fan of your presentation.....
Thank you. Our main goal is to help people understand the technology in their everyday lives, so glad the video helped you learn more! Making a video is always a tremendous learning process for me.
This was insanely informative. Thank you!

Chris Pirillo I love your content, the animation... And your room...

Chris Pirillo hey, I remember you! Somehow I lost touch with you after Call For Help. Now I need to see what you're doing these days!
I've never heard of the dual-pixel image sensor before -- so cool! You have the best information and presentation, as always!
Thank you Ben!
Samsung has been using dual Pixel since the Galaxy S7
Cubamus Prime Yes, but it's the first time they've heard of it. No one really went a little in depth of what it actually is
Yusuf Islam dual pixel technology has many usage, Samsung uses them for faster focusing while Google use them to predict depth of field. You will never know if Samsung uses this for other processing methods until you talk to their developers like in this video with the Google developers.
just like light field camera technology maybe
This is what makes Google so accessible, giving people a chance to look into the process and the people behind a project.
Flood of information.... Awesome.... Nat..👏👏👏
The amount of effort you put in your videos... It totally shows... 👍

This is probably the best video out there on the Pixel 2. Thank you so much, you've earned a fan and a subscriber!
Whoa! Always loved the camera on my Pixel, but never know how much work was put into every step to make it that good. Pleased to see that the new Pixel is getting even better (I didn't even think that was possible). Thanks for all the info!

Literally Google has proved that it's not necessary to have two or three cameras to take good pictures...... Great Information ☺️
This is television quality right here. Props to the efforts put into this video. Super dope
Seriously...This video presents information in such a decorative form and is so knowledgeable that I simply want to keep on watching it! (kudos to the editor of these videos specially)
Wow never heard of your channel before but your the first person to post an actual proper video on the Pixel 2's camera so thank you!!
Thank you for the video! Came here looking for Pixel 2 info, ended up learning so much about smartphone cameras and cameras in general! Really interesting topic that goes unnoticed in day to day life.
Literally world's best camera on a smartphone
Aakash Chandra Not literally. It's the world's best *smartphone* camera. Not even close to the best camera in the world.
*\(°•°)/*
You're using literally figuratively
Aakash Chandra cathal like you girl .😜
iau He correctly qualified his statement with "on a smartphone". Maybe you should learn to comprehend text better?

Thanks! I'll be sure to check that out. :-)
Thank you for making the video!
Thanks a lot. This answered so many questions. I just received my Pixel 2 XL today and I can't wait to test it out in the field. I'm so excited about the advancements that are being made in phone camera technology.
I knew most of this from before, but it really doesn't make it less interesting!! There are so many amazing people out there!!
Oh my goodness, the quality of your sound when you're talking is so good! How did you record that and not have so much ambient noise?
I love this timely and such rich content video. Thank you for highlighting these amazing engineers work! Btw looking good Nat!
It's my first video of yours and i just can't say how much i learnt from it. Great work and very nice presentation for the avg person to understand. Thank you
5 Years later I would love a follow up to this on the Pixel 7.
One of the best detailed and informative video. Love the content and explanations. 👍👍👍💐💐
The Pixel 2’s camera is very technical and difficult to understand but this video explained everything clearly! Thanks Nat and Noodles!
So much to learn in a single video. Loved it .
Great video! Its refreshing to see an informative behind the scenes video among a sea of camera impression videos. Thank you and keep it up!
WOW!! This sort of video is what i wanted to see! Great job.. keep it coming!
Dear Google CMO, please keep this channel alive! These videos are very informative
Oh man, this channel is so good! I was getting so tired of the formulaic review channels out there on RUclips. What an original voice. SUBSCRIBED!
Wow... I never knew the programming and engineering that goes on behind the scenes. It's freaking amazing to say the least

I was interested by the iPhone X... not anymore
Mathieu L I was originally going to buy iPhone X cause of bad user experience with Samsung but the pixel stole my heart.
Lol buy then an ugly designed phone with half the features👌🏻
YoutuMax half of the features 😂
Bastian Hertel its just some fancy names for tech that already exists.
+YoutuMax What exactly are you talking about and what features exactly is it missing? SMH....
And one more thing that you reviewed it very greatly I never seen anyone who going so deeply, I just love your review
Thank you. Both of your recent videos were very informative.
