      He is just being Zen about it. The rooster probably had some great past lives, which is why it’s life as an ordinary rooster who is caged for life until he gets killed to be eaten, became an extraordinary one with so much fun and frolic. But all good things must come to an end. Every life, no matter how grandly lived, must end. It it would be a happy ending too, filling the stomach of the person who gave you enjoyment of life.. instead of some strangers stomach.

    I have 2 roosters at my home I love them a alot . I bought them when they were small chicken babies. They are affectionate towards me. Some times I feel like they are my best frnd to whom I can share my thoughts. Me and my rooster sit on the terrace some evening's and have great time watching the sunset and cool breeze . They become very important part in my life and also to my family members. Every member of our family would love to pet them both. Hope that they have long and happy life ❤ it's been two years since they are living in my house.

    i have a pet rooster named pepe. i got him as a birthday present when he was 1 day old from my mum because she has a friend who is a farmer. i didn't actually expect her to get me a chicken for my birthday, i kind of was just joking with her so when she turned up with a box and i opened it to find a small baby chick inside i was very surprised. my dad wasn't very keen on the idea and was against it at first but eventually i got to keep the chick. since he was a baby he lived in my room in a box while i saved up a lot of money so i could buy him a nice chicken coop when he got older. when he started to get bigger he managed to get out of the box so every morning he would fly over onto my bed and sleep on me lol.
    i managed to buy a chicken coop for him and he started to live outside but he would always come inside for a visit and was very loving. i really hoped that he would turn out to be a hen because i lived in a suburban area and was worried if he turned out to be a rooster someone would complain and i would have to get rid of him. eventually i found out he was a rooster when he started crowing, so i decided to get a hen for him and named her tilly. they loved each other very much and would always be together it was very cute. my dad started to get fed up with them though and he wanted me to get rid of them both but i couldn't so i left to live with my mum and with pepe and tilly. they had a bigger property to roam around in and a big chicken enclosure with their own shed. unfortunately tilly passed away a while ago and pepe is still upset, he is about 2 years old now and i love him so much. he loves to sit on your lap or be picked up and cuddled, he will follow you around and when you call his name he will run over and he loves to do a little dance around your feet when he greets you. i have a lot of other hens now and pepe has a nice flock to keep himself company but he still loves to come down to my house with the hens to visit and spend time with us. he has never once attacked me or anyone else he is so friendly i never knew a rooster could be so kind and loving, i will always pick a chicken over a cat or dog

      By having bought your female chickens you have paid for their young brothers to be butchered, because there is ”no use” for as many roosters as hens. Don’t act like you are innocent and have no part in such thing when it was done with your support and money. Nikki Ette Well I blame the family for it. I mean come on! Roosters are animals that are meant to be in places with wide open spaces to run like the countryside and they definitely need some companions. That rooster was probably frustrated due to the lack of space that he had. It was almost like living in a prison.

    • @lordhaer1896
      @lordhaer1896 5 лет назад +7

      @@spino-tinodon1146 I agree but you went way too far. Think about the money you would spend for those open lands and think about the roosters. If they are free it is possible for them to fight. The smiles just disappeared with the Halal way of butchering rather than one quick cut . In Halal a small cut is made on the the neck & the animal/ bird left to bleed to their death. The butcher makes a cut leaves the Rooster in the drum & the drum shakes-- thats the last minutes of suffering. Animals birds many a times remain alive for over 20 minutest tho blood loss makes them too weak too move.

    This is a brilliant piece. There is a lot in this. The irony that the man who brought him home and who arguably seems to have the most affection for the animal is the one who takes him to be slaughtered. It is a pet, and it is treated better than nearly all other roosters on the planet, yet in the end, he can't escape his fate.
    And while the father is the one who brings the chick home, the mother is the one left to care for and clean up after it. And yet he is the one who unilaterally decides to have it killed; in the end, his wife also can't escape her fate.

    This is one of those examples of the Hawthorne Effect where the act of observing or documenting something influences its outcome or narrative. I think the chicken would still be alive if this documentary wasn't made, considering the family tolerated and accepted the rooster as a member of the family to some degree. The father subconsciously understood he had a role in the conclusion of the narrative and it was pushed along with the act of filming/documenting. I honestly wonder how the family feels listening to the rooster's agonizing death after watching this.

    The video just ended... and I am sitting here in shock... such a beautiful bird... bought as a day-old baby to be "a toy for his cats"... I am having so much trouble dealing with this... I laughed all through the video until the shocking ending... it IS beautifully filmed... as least this amazing bird lives on in film... his destiny was to be a protective male ruling over a flock of hens... he never even got to breed... of course he was crazy! Except that he wasn't... he was beautiful and coped the best that he could with crazy humans that imprisoned him in an alien environment and then had their pet's throat cut, threw him in a garbage can, slowly bleeding to death, alone and confused and terrified... and then ate him. Chickens are amazing creatures, but they are hard-wired, omnivorous eating machines that live in flocks OUTSIDE. I have a flock OUTSIDE and I respect the fact that they are chickens and are born to be chickens, nothing more, nothing less... they are not cats, or dogs... nor are they "toys". Chickens are so fantastic that they are growing in popularity all over America... so much so, that roosters, and what to do with them, is a serious problem... I wonder how differently this story would have gone if the chick he brought home had been a hen instead? Oh, he was so gorgeous! A beautiful, cocky roo'!!! :(
