As an African American, I admire Haitian culture so much. I wish we, outside of Louisiana (NOLA) and the low country/Deep South, protected and valued our folk culture like we do for our pop culture. Some of the attire worn at Haitian Carnival reminds me of La Sape in Congo

your channel has been so important to me , I often feel homesick even tho im very aware that the haiti i knew and loved when i was little is not this one but you can still see her beuty even in the chaos. I pray every night that my country can be peacefull and beutifull again.

Great video, please can you explain about the safety level in Haiti. I would love to visit but I only hear the things in the media personal safety, kidnappings etc Is only certain parts where it is considered dangerous?
I would recommend paying close attention to where they say these crimes occur. It might help to look at a map of Haiti. If the area you’re interested in visiting is in the West or near the West, then definitely wait to visit.

Definitely one of my favorite places, but getting there is too complicated for me. If Sunrise Airways had flights there then I would. But I’m not getting on those tiny planes.
