More than that, it’s also slightly offset. I dig it! Come On Gibson bring these back! They are cool and are actually one of the few recent models with a new body shape and headstock that is aesthetically pleasing. If Fender can take some small gambles with their Parallel Universe/Paranormal lines, so should should Gibson.
One of the most excellent guitars you have had on the channel for a while. From when you took it out of the case, I was hooked. There are two on Reverb but both have dings on the body yet both sellers are asking over £3300.
They are extremely hard to find, especially in the Uk. I’ve been tracking them for about 3 years and had to import one from New Zealand, which I still have. Then I found another in the uk which I bought but later sold on. They have been the only 2 appear on the UK market in that time except the one on reverb which has a massive scratch on it.
I have a Vegas Standard and love it. I actually prefer the standard. It works incredibly well for recording and fits the mix in most songs unless one wants a Strat sound. I just posted a video of it and a tele custom running through a Fender Music Master Amp turned up to 8 if anyone wants more sound demos.
Not sure how much they are worth these days. My guitar was an even trade for a carbon fibre acoustic parlour. Some people only value Les Pauls or traditional guitars. For me it is all about tone and feel. The Vegas is awesome on both fronts. @@tomtwin2597
Man, those are beautiful. First time I've seen one. Reminds me of a Starcaster. The Languedoc guitars that Trey Anastasio uses are based on the Starcaster so I'm surprised I've never seen anyone with one of these in the jam band scene. Very cool instrument.
I bought a used Neon finish one in about 2010. Used it constantly for years, still love it. Light as a feather, plays great, sounds great, though the tuning isn't great. Might be a bad nut, i think. Mine is full of dings, but almost every other one i've seen has seemingly never been played. Also, every other one i've seen dates to April 2006. Might be the UK only got April ones? Extra fun fact: There is one in Disney's G-Force, covered in stickers, in a scene in a kid's bedroom.
WOW!!! I love this one, one of the most interesting cool shapes and dimensions I've seen for a "335" style, its really something. Im never going to afford it, but I can dream. I think it just became my ideal semi-hollow to someday get. Oh and the colors on this one are stunning, the green top with the satin brown wood grain back and the golden frets and pickups, damn that's a winning combination!!! Amazing!!
I never knew these existed. Very interesting. I bet they will have a cult following and skyrocket in price at some point. Burst bucker pros from this era are some of my favorite pickups. 👌
In 1996 Gibson Custom produced the ES-336, the first of the semi-hollow chambered instruments. I would love to see you review one. I actually love the Standard version of this High Roller.
ive been watching your show everyday for the past year and a half now. ive actually never been a gibson fan, at all. this might be one of the only models id consider buying.
Reminds me of that f-hole asymmetrical 335 like Les Paul model, or one of Fender’s attempts to make a “jazz” guitar that didn’t work. The green burst reminds me of the Epiphone DC pro, though that had a black back.
Could be the pickup leads your hearing in there. Maybe it’s the “mojo” bouncing around. Do you like these more than the midtown? I would love to get one someday I think
similar to what i want but someday i love the body style H S S and no neck binding maybe double thick body like its an acoustic. damn i dream a lot when i watch this channel.
Might have been mentioned already but to me this series is a lot like a Fender Starcaster. They were hollowbody, offset, and had six in line tuners. I think it's a cross between a Trini and a Starcaster
There's a commercial on TV that shows a guy with if not the exact model it looks fairly similar. The guy is supposed to be a music vlogger. If you ride a bike it's a thing to pickup a poker chip from a dealer you may have visited in another city. Im sure that's just a souvenir.
I wish I'd seen a Highroler before today. I might've wanted one if I hadn't just gotten a Yamaha SA2000 I wasn't totally happy with for close to the same original asking price of this one. Could it have been that this model was like Gibson's bench test for the Midtown line?
I had one in the neon finish (the purple burst). Nicely made and looked spectacular, but utterly characterless sounding and didn't feel that amazing to play.
I had a standard. Never bonded, and there was some problems with the electronics. Took the guitar in several times for professional repairs. Finally, it came time to let the guitar go.
Cool guitar I like it! Looks pretty sweet and sounds pretty good as well. Love the green burst finish and slimmer body shape. The non reverse style Firebird headstock also adds interest and appeal too
I have the Tabaco Burst standard in pretty good condition absolutely GREAT guitar! and SUPER RARE you never see these for sale anywhere anyone here know how much this guitar is worth these days?
I had one in “ Natural “ with the Trini Lopez cutouts, beautiful guitar but it was a “ piece of shit “ wouldn’t stay in tune, neck would bend in any fashion of weather and the PU’s would cutout and crackle after playing it for more than ten minutes. The bridge PU wouldn’t work after owning it for 2 years. Luthiers ( several ) tried to fix the anomalies with the PU’s and nobody could work it out. Because I bought it second hand Gibson wouldn’t honour the warranty, I suppose a sucker is born everyday. I own a 1964 Barney Kessel Aria Diamond law suit copy, vastly superior to the Gibson.
Hear me out here, they should rerelease these as an Epiphone Wildkat Vegas model or something for like $600. I think at a lower price it would be a lot more appealing.

Its so expensive 😶

I have a Vegas standard as well! (tobacco burst) GREAT GUITAR!!! do you have any idea how much its worth these days??

It might be one of those pickup cables smacking the inside of the guitar.

Pretty cool playing the opening riff to "Viva Las Vegas" I like this guitar it sounds great and that fretboard looks comfortable to play on.
Well Trogly, you had to go and add one to my want list didn’t you. That purple burst is amazing, i need it,
Cool guitar and color. I get the feeling it would great for Shoe Gaze. It might be a useful skill to be able to "drop fill" dings on the top, etc.
Beautiful guitar. I love everything about it. Great looking, great sounding. Definitely would be proud to be seen playing this one!
The green is really beautiful !
In 1996 Gibson Custom produced the ES-336, the first of the semi-hollow chambered instruments. I would love to see you review one. I actually love the Standard version of this High Roller.
It's the Gibson version of a starcaster!!!
Never heard of these, but I agree that Gibson should bring them back. Mind you, if they did, might be too expensive.
man after hearing that thing wail you can tell why it was a player, sounded incredible!
This is a really beautiful guitar. I honestly don't remember these but after seeing this, I would love to have one in my collection.
ive been watching your show everyday for the past year and a half now. ive actually never been a gibson fan, at all. this might be one of the only models id consider buying.
That thing is sweet. My dad had a sweater from the 90s with this exact color scheme.
This reminds me of an Ibanez artcore FWD60 that came out in 2005. I had one and it was an awesome guitar! Love me some smaller semi-hollow bodies!
Another beautiful one from Gibson. A must have guitar !!!!!
Reminds me of that f-hole asymmetrical 335 like Les Paul model, or one of Fender’s attempts to make a “jazz” guitar that didn’t work. The green burst reminds me of the Epiphone DC pro, though that had a black back.
I went right for the shop page praying it would be available. Darn!
I'd definitely consider one of the Standard models in ebony or tobacco burst. They're surprisingly cool.
Trogly,
If you hit the back lightly with a grey scotch bright pad, you can make it satin again.
Any guitar with a Firebird headstock is objectively Gibson's best designs, having much better tuning stability
Very cool guitar
That rattle is a set of dice embedded within in furtherance of the gambling theme.
This looks amazing. Gonna have to search these, I've never even heard of these beauties before now.
I'd love to see this done with the 2 volumes 2 tone controls. Keep the satin neck. I'd buy a tobacco burst as long as it was under $2,500.
Great looking guitar
Love the offset body
this looks like Gibson made their own version of a Fender Starcaster
Amazingly beautiful guitar
Could be the pickup leads your hearing in there. Maybe it’s the “mojo” bouncing around. Do you like these more than the midtown? I would love to get one someday I think
I've wanted one of these for years, but I've never seen one show up locally.
similar to what i want but someday i love the body style H S S and no neck binding maybe double thick body like its an acoustic. damn i dream a lot when i watch this channel.
The standard with the Lopez diamond holes looks best! Is the gold fret wire EVO gold? Like Lizzy Hale's?
BASS player here, I like that aura you put on when you play, verrrrry nice !!!
I love offsets and semihollows so I want one bad.
On a first glance, I absolutely love it! Unless there's something wrong with it revealed later in the video, I'd say the gamble paid off...
Love this one!
Cool guitar. Sounds great.
Going to confess I missed these back in the day but I like the look etc.
Nice color kind of elegant looking appropriately named 👍
It almost looks like a jazzmaster or jagmaster
I like the midtown for sure.
This looks to me like Terey's guitar?
Cool with the extra measurements.
That’s a really cool guitar !!!
These look great
I like it. Its got a great vibe.
The gold frets look nice against the ebony board.
Wow that's very cool
Born and raised in Las Vegas.. I always wanted one of these
Might have been mentioned already but to me this series is a lot like a Fender Starcaster. They were hollowbody, offset, and had six in line tuners. I think it's a cross between a Trini and a Starcaster
I think I found my next model ❤❤❤❤gorgeous guitar wow that’s a keeper
I need this guitar. They should reissue them or make an Epiphone. I love it.
There's a commercial on TV that shows a guy with if not the exact model it looks fairly similar. The guy is supposed to be a music vlogger. If you ride a bike it's a thing to pickup a poker chip from a dealer you may have visited in another city. Im sure that's just a souvenir.
Thanks for sharing mate.

That’s a nice model, I’d love one of these 🤙
I had one in the neon finish (the purple burst). Nicely made and looked spectacular, but utterly characterless sounding and didn't feel that amazing to play.
I love my Vegas std. Looks great ,plays great, sounds great.
looks like the evh wolfgang prototype that wolfy is playing live now .
That is absolutely stunning 😻
Nice, I might consider one, myself ❤
I totally want one!
That green one is perfect.
That is cool! I really love that.
Damn, I really like these
If new today it would have a Demo stamp, but still a Cool Guitar.
You are more often then not lucky on your gambles Austin. :o)
I don't care for the semi hollow too much. I bought a new Epi dot and gave it away. Probably a bad move, I do find that guitar ❤️ love the size
The non reverse style Firebird headstock also adds interest and appeal too
P.S. that green burst should be on the head stock too, Giby, yo listlenin ????
Agreed! I have to wonder what Standard or DOT inlays would look like too. The Custom inlays look disproportionate with the headstock.
Honestly a really nice looking guitar.
Congratulations 😊
The body shape looks quite a lot like the Fender Stratocaster
I think dice style inlays would have been cool.
👍
Great guitars, but surprised me that they have custom shop prices. 😮
That’s a new one to me. I quite fancy one!
I like it.
Lololoooool 😂...b.t.w thank's for stepping up your skills, sounds much better now 👏👏👏😎🎉
Yeah, *that's* the kind of fret material that recent Lifeson Epiphone LP should've had, too! A far better match to gold-chrome hardware!
I never let people play my guitar If they have the “passion hands”.. sweaty palms and fingers. String killers.! Killer axe btw.
SWEET!!!!!!
I have the Tabaco Burst standard in pretty good condition absolutely GREAT guitar! and SUPER RARE you never see these for sale anywhere anyone here know how much this guitar is worth these days?
Dang trogly ……. I want one now in the tabaco burst
Looks like a Bonamassa offset 329bird.
Calling all troggies! IT'S TIME!
That's a pretty guitar Trog.
If I were to ever buy a semi-hollow body, it would be the High Roller in roulette red finish. Gibson, bring these back!!!
I had one in “ Natural “ with the Trini Lopez cutouts, beautiful guitar but it was a “ piece of shit “ wouldn’t stay in tune, neck would bend in any fashion of weather and the PU’s would cutout and crackle after playing it for more than ten minutes. ✌️
Specs say BB Pro, but those were BB 1 & 2. Modded?
Hear me out here, they should rerelease these as an Epiphone Wildkat Vegas model or something for like $600. I think at a lower price it would be a lot more appealing.
If an ES335 and a Fender Jaguar had a baby, it might look like this.
That thing is silly light, crazy, calling all bad back Gibson fans !
They call it high roller and didn't even bother doing binding on the f-holes. No thanks.
Z is for late. Picnic for the lodge today.

One day I'll get you to tell me why...
