Having 8 years of experience in the industry, I can feel what he may be going through. He's losing hairs. He used to have good hairs in his DSA videos. And of course, the dark circles also cannot be unseen.
it's just sad to see him like this..the job definitely takes a toll on the body
@@sandipansaha1296, well, it only happens when you either don't like your job or you're around the most mindful people and feel the competition so much that you end up taking a toll on the body only to be in the race. It is both good and bad. Bad because you are deteriorating your body slowly, and good because that is the best time to learn from the best people around.
People in IT crying for government jobs while people preparing for govt jobs crying to get a job in IT
Hence people are only crying now days 😭😭
Hence proved Life is not easy for everyone 😢
People who are preparing just need a job. Preparation isn't a stable phase.
kaam nhi krna kisiko, sab jagah apne pros and cons hai
so what to do?/////
As a software engineer, I strongly agree with all your points.

1. Expectation vs Reality
you want to joined to build cool products.
But NOT!
you do meeting, planning, understanding structure. etc
Coding is easiest part of job.
• your projects for millions of people's
• 00000000.1 work you have do.
2. constant learning tech skills
• learn unknown technologies you haven't worked.
• learning is never stop.
• you have to solved errors which is not present into internet.
3. imposter syndrome
( you feel you are not belong here )
peoples are smart.
you should take care your health.
4. culture and work culture
- deadline ( miss )
- PIP culture
- 2 or 3 mouths you wouldn't do, leave it.
Thank you for this

@@jain_saiyam 😂
One of the most darkest point I want to highlight is when you are not able to solve the bug in the given deadline then you have to work on weekend. You will be working for 5 days and then 2 days on weekends and after that again 5 days, it will cause burnout. You will not get enough time to spend your salary and relax.
Not true. You can discuss with your manager or higher management if you're unable to work. If it's a toxic workplace then it's otherwise.
my senior is working in mnc for 12 years and he almost never worked on sat or sunday. It is only possible in small companies and startups
I work in one of the most chill company when it comes to work life balance but still face this issue. It is expected that if you find a issue on Friday it would be solved by Monday. Also i think even if i am not forced by someone to work on weekends, i would have that issue in back of my mind for all weekend and it does create mental fatigue.
So , true! Even companies famous for relaxed work culture are doing it internally. I am in TCS , and it's happening to me. I have been working all 7 days since march even with no extra pay
Which company brother?@@shivamhw

As software engineer , i agree with your all points.. Sometimes I think, I will resign from whole it industry itself, will start momo business.. Atleast I will be able to sleep with peace with my family.. May be I will not have that much money, but that will be more peaceful 😢

This video is so accurate that I cannot express it in words, each and every detail explained so calmly and perfectly and every point is relatable to me. People in this era miss out on these aspects of a job and simply want to "code" and get the perks but as explained that's not the full picture and in doing so they also miss out on one big thing that is Engineering. The fun and the frustration of solving a problem, the art of designing a solution (maybe cumbersome or innovative) is reducing by the moment. I wish we all realise this soon. Keep growing brother ❤
That google cap hanged on the wall😎
Absolutely true. Every point is spot on. Newcomers or those planning to pursue IT for the attractive perks should also take these into account.
Greatly appreciate this video ,sort of a eye opener for a fresher aspiring to enter IT industry.Thank u Striver.
Can't be more perfectly spoken. Someone has to take up and talk about these points. Glad that you spoke on these.
I go through this on a daily basis. I see everyone chit chatting in Tamil. To my plight, I don’t know Tamil. I am the only one always abandoned. It feels good when someone voices your heart. Thanks Striver.
Bro, Same situation. On the complete floor of around 100 people, I am the only non Tamil guy. So many people around but no one to talk to!!
You're totally true..Striver. After 2 years of experience in softwareengineering, I can totally agree. Thanks for bringing this out ❤. You're providing real content.❤
Bhaiya, aap sleep ko manage kese krte ho, like itne km neend mai bhi itna productive
Thanks for being so honest. Being in IT I can relate and agree with what you mentioned!
needed it!, Thank you once again sir...
Thats why isnt easy to earn money , even software engineers have to sacrifice alot to get that high paying salary
Eye opener video 🙌🏻💯
So glad that despite making so many courses he is coming out with this level of honesty and explaining it to people upfront. I agree with each and everything that he has said. Its certain that you'd get a good package, some benefits, gifts, etc but everything comes with a price, you pay with extra time, sleep-sacrifice and sometimes with your weekends too..
100% True , Thanks for sharing striver .. This is reality. I have been experiencing this every day. Manager pressure , deadline pressure , bugs in code, help freshers .... Now Finding different path other than IT.
These are the reasons why some people quit jobs and sell courses , because sde is not a cup of tea.
Selling courses multiply digital copies and earn lakhs , Good plan by youtubers.
no words just understanding feeling
Thank you Striver for your honest points
Your this video just made me cry that it was so accurately said about each and every aspect about the software engineering and how is the actually the life of engineers who are working. I strongly agree when you said sometimes you think you don’t belong here, your effort doesn't seem to others, but yes these facts that you shared in the video are so accurate. But no worries, that’s what we have chosen so it comes with some perks but yes we have to give something about it as well.
As compared to other fields in India, salaries in IT are very good if you have technical skills + communication. Also the work culture is very good as compared to non IT jobs. Off course bad managers are everywhere, but with lakhs of companies, you have options to switch atleast.
Reality pta cal gyi ajj to ❤❤
The origin of the dark side is only due to the high expectations and deadlines, otherwise software engineering is a beautiful domain
I think the meetings wala point is still not the worst, we still get to talk about the "geeky stuff", software design and architecture because anyways we need planning before actual coding.
where is the so called "good work life balance" in top companies then?
Was never there. Just sold us all a nice dream.
One of the worst part is on call shift. You might get paged on weekends or worst if you are on 24hrs shift even in midnight.
Relatable 100%,

disagree with the learning part. After the initial days, learning in most companies is meh meh.
Also could cover about promotions.
Couldn't agree more.
Just thinking out loud: It's strange that earlier people used to complain that jobs are monotonous, same and boring. But now it's the other way around, tech is evolving and you get to hop on to new things, but people are complaining about it. What's your take guys?
Yepp!!! That’s the reality…it feels really good to hear it from someone like you..especially the self-doubt part -whether we belong here or not. That was a much needed video..Thanksss Striverr!
So is there any better option than software engineer for CSE student ? MBA ??
Humko dark life chalega....khaane k liye paise toh honge😅
true bhai!!!
every career has darkside
you can eat well and full when you are not in stress overall but once you joined private organization, you will have bloating problems, whatever you eat will sit in your stomach and slowly in 2 to 3 years you will be fucked, and you will think this space is not for me, 99.99% software are working because they all are trapped in credit like home loan, car loan and personal loans.
**IMPORTANT**
government job with less strict deadlines are the best jobs.

If you feel like you are on top of the world one day and then feel like you don't know enough the next day, that means you lack experience.
jo apne design bataya vo konse type ka hota ?
every point is valid and I do agree software engineers do not have an easy job
Right phases I was
Striver, your recent LinkedIn post about TUF+ pricing. I know you've not shown the username of the person but I think you should've told him nicely. Not all people have knowledge about business striver.. and your point is also valid.. but some people don't get the bigger picture and that's okay. Do you have idea how will it affect on his mental health? Even though you hid his name, you targeted him personally please don't do it... I have not commented on your linkedin because at this point you're a bigger person and ofcourse people will support you..
But please try to reapond instead of react. Otherwise you're a good and hardworking person, people look at you as a model please be gentle.
Maybe he had heard a lot about these and couldn't have a control check on his reaction power. But the thing is 99% engineering students don't want to even understand how it works. That's the fault the students have.
true
Yes, then maybe he could've started that LinkedIn post.. with something like "A lot of you had queries regarding the TUF paid version" without attaching any screenshot...
Idk I am just putting a perspective.
