      Same! She was offered help by several people and she refused. I remember way back when I still liked them, I couldn't understand it. No way in the world that in the Royal Family, where appearances mean everything, that they wouldn't try to help her along. Also, the reason why I don't believe they constantly throw other family members under the bus. Any time one of them gets negative press, it reflects poorly on them all.

      @mezzamuddle Год назад

      I don't believe they were fired, they left in a temper tantrum when The Queen said no to half in/half out. That's what this is all about, they thought they had it all planned out and had already made their announcement on Sussex Royal. The Queen 'dared' to thwart their plans by saying absolutely not and here we are now 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    • @sandrawestley4193
      @sandrawestley4193 Год назад +9

      I don’t think they were as much fired, as Megan had every intention of doing it her way, no advice from anyone, she intended to bring her ideas which were young and outward looking, and as Harry said, she was much better at the job than those born to it, and she decided to rebel at all the men In Grey suits as Harry calls them, and I truly believe they thought taking themselves off to Canada for a breather and a bit of space, that they expected the Royal family to miss them, and would do anything to get them back, which totally backfired, they accepted them leaving and stripped them if using HRH titles. That then just made them really mad and made them do the Ophra interview to vent their anger.

    • @MaraMorrigan
      @MaraMorrigan Год назад

      @@sandrawestley4193 What is young and outward looking about wanting to be a princess and have people bow and scrape to you? When has MM ever had an original thought? Why had H&M brokered deals with Oprah and a now defunct streaming service in 2018 if they didn't intend to be half-in, half-out? Canada was only ever a stepping-stone. Once free security was withdrawn by the government, they ran off to free security and staff in a Tyler Perry mansion. Yes, they did think themselves indispensable, hence their power-plays to force the BRF to agree to their monetising their royal position. The Oprah interview was such sour grapes at having been ousted and an attempt to destroy the BRF with what H has now downplayed as 'unconscious bias.' Poorly played overall by these two ne'er-do-wells!

    This all makes so much sense now. The RF did welcome her and saw her ethnicity as perhaps the only positive given her sketchy personal history, advanced age and obvious arrogance. They had reservations about the marriage because: (a) it was happening too quickly; (b) they saw that she didn't have the right personality/character to perform as a royal and (c) she exhibited a complete lack of understanding of what her role would be as a member of the family--and as we all now know, their reservations were well founded. She failed spectacularly and then tried to punish/blame the RF for a failure which was entirely due to she and her husband's arrogant belief they knew best and unwillingness to accept the sound advice/assistance of the Palace.

    SHauna, if you haven't read Lady C's book "The Queen Mother", you should definitely read that one too. If you want to understand the dynamics of the royal family of the last 100 years, you have to know who Elizabeth Bowes Lyon was and how her 102-year life affected everyone. Queen Elizabeth II certainly had her hands full with some of the personalities around her. Phillip and her mother were both narcissists. She adored Phillip, despite his multiple and continual affairs. It had to be very difficult, but she really leaned on him. The Queen Mother could not stand not being in control of everything after her husband died, and she was in the Queen's ear every day, telling her how she should run everything. HMTQ did not have an easy time, from when she was a girl all the way through her life. She conducted herself with incredible grace under extremely difficult circumstances.

    Ooh I'm so excited you're planning on reviewing Diana in Private by Lady C! What struck me about her Meghan & Harry The Real Story is just how much of this outcome she predicted but in mostly subtle inuendo. She's so good at weaving intrique in her writing. She knows how to reveal a lot if you 'read between the lines', but not enough to get herself into trouble! Sadly I think Meghan will be flattered to have anything in common with Diana, regardless if it's bad LOL!

    I too, thought of the engagement video where Meghan made a winced-hardened look about being an addition to Harry’s “team” statement. That scene was the total giveaway about her intentions towards the Royal Family. She never planned on staying long. I think Meghan’s only consideration was whether she would still need Harry for the ride.

      I read Penny Junor's biography of Prince William. She spends enough time on William's childhood that we do get a decent picture of how difficult Diana could be. She treated William like a confidant, and that's just wrong. No parent should tell their child as much about their marriage as Diana apparently did to William. Diana courted the press because she knew how important they were to her. All we ever got was her side of stories. As someone who works in family law, I can tell you without hesitation that there are 3 sides to every marriage/divorce - his, hers & the truth.

    • @abbatrouble
      @abbatrouble Год назад +12

      @@kellynch Diana has done more long lasting harm to the monarchy than Meghan. There are still many people who believes Diana's les about Charles and Camilla. Because of the Royal Family's "never explain, never complain" stance, Charles was never able to tell his side or defend himself against her PR machine.

    • @kellynch
      @kellynch Год назад +12

      @@abbatrouble A difference though is that Diana actually respected the Queen and the monarchy itself. She let her dislike for Charles and Camilla to get the better of her. And that’s part of her own emotional issues. Meghan, OTOH, has no respect for anyone or anything except money and fame.

    Meghan was offered advice by the Queen and Camilla, and the Queen suggested she speak to Sophie for advice, plus they were given a number of members of staff in an advisory capacity as well. Meghan turned it all down and said she had Harry. She tries to act like no one told her how things were done, but they did. She didn't want to know. And even if she had Harry, I don't know why she would think Harry was some kind of expert on the protocols for womens dress/clothing. Harry's not going to know about things like sewing small weights into the hems of certain dresses/skirts to prevent them flapping in the wind. No, I agree with Tom Bower - she wanted to fail, so she could play the victim.

    Love your humour and cheeky smile! I think Meghan thought she was superior, and she would not accept any advice - when offered she said "I have Harry" think that was in answer to Sophie being offered to give her tips. Her problem was she was an actress, but no where near up to the role of being a Royal family member, a total misfit. It is not snobbery, look at Mike Tindal, he fits in well, as do many other spouses - they learn and go with the flow. But Meghan, I think instead of stepping back and learning she said " She would hit the ground running after the wedding" That was about the most truthful thing she said as no one knew she meant running back to USA. Both H&M have played the racism card, honestly the looks more white than I do who have British and Scandinavian ancestors! It is her loss, she had a huge chance and blew it. I don't see it ending well!!

    Thank you for insight.
    That’s a juicy book for sure.
    She does have the shadow that she’s not aware of and Harry’s too weak, vulnerable, and struggled to feel good enough being a Spare all his life.
    They both attracted each other due to their common bond of feeling not good enough since their childhood. Both had dysfunctional, unhealthy attachments which we are now seeing.
    They seem to be unaware that they’re the answer to their own problems.
    Harry isn’t the sharpest tool in the toolbox. We all know now that he’s not confident of himself after all. If he would have worked on becoming healthy himself he wouldn’t attract his wife who is dragging him down to the ground.
    Fascinating!
    May Harry wake up to remembering who he is so he can be better and truly happy.
    Oh we love healthily relationships that teaches us to become better humans. ❤
