you really can just put whatever the fuck in epoxy resin huh
I’d imagine you can’t put kittens in resin . Or baked beans.
Or slugs
You can’t put a rhino in resin. Unless of course you had a really ridiculous request and a lot of resin. Can you turn a rhino?
@@safepncI bet Jack Mack could turn a Rhino 🦏
What about a hard boiled Ostrich Egg?
a mushroom vibe pom pom lamp is not a phrase that inspires confidence but you made the reality of that phrase phenomenal. hats off to you
Haha thanks man. What would better describe it?
So that’s what I should order yes??
for a 1960's-70's hippie, yes?
Why did my dyslexic ass read it as “a mushroom vibe porn lamp” 😅🤦♀️😂
@@JackMackWoodturning idk what else you’d call it. i for one am happy with your mushroom vibing pom pom lamp. it is pure perfection
I had no idea it was going to be a lamp until you made the base! I thought it was a bowl.
Regardless, it’s so cool!! Love it!
Thanks! Did you think the colours a bit much?
@@JackMackWoodturning Not at all! It’s so fun and frankly gorgeous to look at too!
@@JackMackWoodturning Nope the colors matched perfectly.... for us old hippies! lol
I'm glad the customer made you do it!
Haha. I’m not..
@@JackMackWoodturning Oh wow!!! You don't like it???
That turned out to be absolutely stunning! I didn't think it would be as transparent as it turned out, but it's phenomenal!
Well done, beautiful piece of work! Hats off to you!
Thank you. Tell me, at what point did you work out it was going to be a lamp?
@@JackMackWoodturning Probably around 9 minutes in or so when you were working on the base. I first thought it was some kind of bowl, but when the base/stand started taking shape, I figured it was 'maybe' a lamp.
Again, wonderful!
Wow,the lamp turned out so amazing! I’ve never seen anyone turn Pom poms before. Very cool.
I think Nic Zametti did a project as well.
Iv’e never seen it. That’s not to say it hasn’t been done. Did you like the colours?
Do you have a link?
This is so cute!! Great job!
@@JackMackWoodturning I love the colors!
Psychedelic mushroom lamp. Whatever makes your boat float. 😎
Not a fan? 🤣
A fungus among us
What an absolutely adorable piece! Never would have thought of such cute little fuzz balls in a resin project.
Thanks so much K. Would you use it?
@@JackMackWoodturning Absolutely!
@@JackMackWoodturning absolutely! I think it is so creative and would be a beautiful centrepiece.
Okay, this is my new favorite piece of yours! It’s whimsical and beautiful at the same time!❤
Thanks K! A bedside lamp perhaps?
Statement office / desk lamp 100%@@JackMackWoodturning
This is so shagadelic man. Something tells me you could have made a small fortune with these in the 70's.😂😂😂 Neat looking piece man. Out of sight and dyn-o-mite!
He could make a fortune today! Groovy muschroom stuff is really making a comeback
If only I had a time machine. Tony are a product of the 70’s?
Still could now too
It’s fascinating that someone can make a living and gain a following with nothing other than a lathe and lathe skills. Good on ya, I hope the world doesn’t get bored of bowls, lamps and trinkets. I worked with my dad as a teen and had to turn more than 100 balustrades for wooden stairs in a 3 story house - sanding and steel wool and a sleeve that got pulled in are memories I’ll never forget.
I make a living from my Woodturning business and have done for 23 years. These videos are on the said of my normal activities. I turn around 4,000 bowl per year for wholesale stockists. It is nice to make a little extra income from these videos. But this stuff won’t last forever. 🤙🏻
That's how businesses work if you think about it, lathe and lathe skills, now you can have a shop to sell things you create!
'Nothing but a lathe and lathe skills' like that's something everyone has and he's just lucky to make a living out of it 🤦♀️. What a stupid comment.
Very creative! What I like about your videos is - you just create, no chatting, which some people enjoy, and so do I most of the time, but you just create and allow us to watch along as you express your thoughts through actions.
Happy Turning - Lowell
Thanks man. Do you turn?
@@JackMackWoodturning Yes, I do. I picked turning back up just before retirement, but my dad was a turner long ago and I turned in School. I love it.😁
I second that!! I love watching it and listening to the machine and the process without any talking or music. 🥰💓🙌🏻
my cat loves these
Mushroom lamps ?
@@JackMackWoodturning haha! no, the pompoms XD
The box of pompoms was so satisfying to look at. All the tiny ones stuck to the larger ones ❤
No fun to work with I assure you.. I’m still fining them around the workshop
I thought they were baby tribbles.
@@JackMackWoodturning at least it's not glitter.
@@lotus_flower2001Don't be giving us ideas!😆
I love how so much work and passion and dedication goes to one thing. A beautiful trophy of hard work and encouragement. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 🤙🏻
I did 🫶🏼♥️
I'm a bit of a,"lamp psycho". And I absolutely love that lamp!! Very adorable. Be proud to own it.❤💡
What a creative mind and lathe talent you have! Please keep posting content.
I’ll try D. Would really help if I got full length views and shares! The algorithm doesn’t like me much at the moment 👌🏻
That's amazing!!!
A mushroom lamp!!
Absolutely love the base, my favorite is knotty wood, so much character.
Thanks Patti would you have it in your home?
@@JackMackWoodturning in a heartbeat!
Me too!
Beautiful craftsmanship! You truly have a gift, but more than that it is clear you’ve put a lot of time and patience into honing that gift. Brava 🎉❤😊
Thank you. I think it’s just practice rather than a gift per say but I appreciate you kind words all the same
Gorgeous markings on the wood. ❤❤❤❤
Nice one ❤️
That lamp is amazing, the colors really make it look out of this world
Would you have it in your home ?
@@JackMackWoodturning yes
I _knew_ it was a lamp, however, I had no idea how stunning the wood base would be! It’s gorgeous!
Thanks! Do you know what kind of wood it is?
It's a beautiful little lamp! Good on your customer for making you do it!
Haha! Thanks J. How are you?
@@JackMackWoodturning I'm great! I hope you are, too!
The words that escaped my mouth when you turned it on:
“Wowwwwww, that’s so pretty.”
❤️
Hahaha, so you hated it then ? 😏
@@JackMackWoodturning Lol, definitely wasn't being sarcastic. I loved it.
I HAD NO CLUE IT WOULD BE A MUSHROOM UNTIL HE PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER. This is very beautiful, the wood and the pom poms and everything going together and just everything about it. I really love it, keep doing what you do!
I love your title for this one. Like "don't blame me, not my idea." But it did turn out nice.
Haha exactly! Wouldn’t be my choice of medium. Would you have it in your home?
LOL, not quite. Cute idea and every well done, but my tastes are more simple. Hubby would ask if I'd been doing shrooms 😂
@@JackMackWoodturningI know I am not OP, but I will answer that question. I would def have it in my home I don't have what you would call a "decor" necessarily, just a conglomeration of things I like and things that😢😢 are interesting and/or thought provoking. Conversation starters so to speak.
Among other things like beauty, time required, skill, etc, this piece is a definate conversation starter. Tell somebody that it's fluffy craft balls and watch the conversation flow........
Went from a kid's project, to a bowl, to mushroom, to a working lamp
Did you not like it ?
Spectacular! This lamp would be wonderful in a baby/toddler’s room or a play room. Bight colors are very stimulating for young eyes.
Great idea!! How’s it going?
Pom poms! Now that’s something you don’t see every day and didn’t they turn out well. Nice lamp, enjoyed watching 👍
Thanks! Will you try it?
@@JackMackWoodturning I wouldn’t discount it that’s for sure. Very inspirational, love bumping into something new 👍
Ha!
Glad that they did make you do it!
It’s fabulous!
Thanks. ☺️
That is amazing!!! I guess the customer IS always right...LOL!!! I'm sure they will love it!!!
They did! Thank goodness. A bit colourful for me?
This was my first woodturning video I’ve ever watched. Curiosity got me because those darn colorful pom poms kept popping up on my feed, finally I just had to know what you were going to do with them. So glad I did! That was awesome 👍🏼
Amazing.. iv got like 200 other videos for you on my channel .. go get yourself stuck right in. If you liked this one you’ll loose your mind at some of my others 🤣
Happy to have you on board recruit 🤙🏻
Fabulous! Some peculiar ideas turn out to be genius!❤
Absolutely. Are you a bird watcher?
5:17 What a smooth transition. :D
😆😆😆
This is my favourite wood turning video ever
Haha nice one D. Have you seen many?
Amazing lamp!! But this kind of work is only for professionals who have all the special equipment. Well done!!
There are literally hundreds of thousands of hobby woodworkers who have this equipment. I’m sure a non professional could make this too 👍🏻
This is one of the most awesome pieces you've ever made. 🤩😍🤩‼️‼️‼️
For real !! That’s awesome thanks
I use these with my granddaughter on a craft day. Never imagined they could make such a beautiful light. Wasn’t sure where you were going here. Thought a colourful bowl but wow, so much more. A great job and any child would love the lights this lamp must create. I’d love to see it switched on.
You can see it switched on at the end of the video 👍🏻
My kids were fascinated by the turning and shaping. Thank you got sharing your work with the world so that we can learn and enjoy it too.
So...this is pretty much the best thing ever, according to my inner child. It brings me so much joy. Thank you for creating it, and sharing it with us!
Thanks queen. 👸 Glad you enjoyed it! Where are you watching from?
@@JackMackWoodturningI'm watching from Bountiful, Utah, USA! 😊
There is something satisfying about watching this come together. Never would have thought to try doing that with pom-poms
That came out cool. It looks awesome with the light on 😃
Nice one! Maybe too colourful?
Wow, this is absolutely brilliant, how beautiful is this. ❤
Thanks L. Glad you enjoyed it 😊 Where are you watching from?
Always good to have eyes opened to all the possibilities out there 🙂
Nice one Craig. Are you in toon?
So beautiful, golden hands, you must be able to come up with something like this, it means that person's head works very well, God bless you, and there are many more such wonderful works
My brain registered those as bouncey balls... now hoping to see those happen someday ohoho.
Turned out really awesome ♥ Absolutely love the colors!
I don’t think they would turn do you?
@@JackMackWoodturning Bouncy balls sealed in resin? Only one way to find out. If that video is a good as this one, we'll be watching! 😂
I did not see that coming!!!! You really had me wondering the whole time till the very end.
Wow Jack you did it again! That turned out amazing as always! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!
Thanks B. Pun intended? 🤣
Absolutely stunning
Thanks, tell me, When did you work out it was going to be a lamp?
I could not figure out what you were making! This was awesome to watch and the end did not disappoint! Well done! Now I want one too! 🥰

The beauty is in the details and skill of execution. Fantastic!
Thanks. Do you not like the look of the finished mushroom?
@@JackMackWoodturning I love the look of the finished mushroom!
Saw the thumbnail and had to double check the channel name, I thought this might have been a Nick Zemetti (spelling?) video.
I don’t watch nicks videos but the ones I have flicked through in the past make me think he’s probably done it.. But knowing nick… he’ll nick any idea, so if he’s not done it yet he’ll do it after watching this. 🤣
This came out great 👍🏻. Love it!

Is this your business? Or do you have a separate webpage? I would very much like to commission a bowl instead of a lamp done the same way with the same materials. Is that possible?!
Been watching your videos for a LONG time now, they just get better and better! Loved the end result of this piece!
Awesome. Glad you continue to enjoy what I do 🤙🏻
dang, this is a super fun design! very cute and cool, lit and unlit have such different vibes
Thanks. When did you work out it was going to be a lamp?
Oh, I would definitely use that. Part lamp, part art object. The would for the lamp base is gorgeous, too!
That is a pretty awesome piece. You did a great job.!!!💞💞💞💞
Thank you
Love watching an artist at work. Many thanks.❤
First I thought you were making a bowl. Then you started working on the lamp base and I wondered why you were making a bowling pin. But when you put the 2 pieces side by side I finally got it. 😂 Great work!
Sounds like you worked it out faster than most people
I had no idea it was going to be a lamp till nearly the end of the video and WOW what a wonderful surprise. It was like a multi coloured mushroom. Love it.👌
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks a lot. Did you like the colours?
@@JackMackWoodturning Colours were great, Jack.👍
Looks like spatters of watercolor! 🥰
It really does. When did you work out it was going to be a lamp?
Wasnt expecting that. It's so cool your customer has vision
When did you realise what it was?
Crazy idea, but it works extremely well. If I had grandchildren I'd buy it instantly for their room....🎉
Are you expecting grandkids?
@@JackMackWoodturning So far my son has not yet decided to become a father. But at 24 there is still a chance
Who knows ?🤷♀️
Amazing! I do love the wood you used for the base.

And he still has all his fingers!
Now THAT is one helluva MUSHROOM! I want one of those!

Wow, beautiful mushroom lamp! You’re a true artist! ❤
Thank you. Would you have it in your home ?
@@JackMackWoodturning yes, I would, I love colours!
I could not possibly love this more! I need this in my life!
First of all, nobody forced you to make that.
Second... You know you wanted to do it and you had a blast!
And so did I. 😂
Absolutely beautiful!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much M. Did you like the colours?
@@JackMackWoodturning yes I did!!
Beautiful AND different, all at the same time.
Me?
Absolutely beautiful!
Nice one P. Are you a smoker?
No I’m not. What an odd question.
Beautiful work and so satisfying to watch! Now all that plastic & synthetic waste will add to the other plastic bits floating in our oceans and the bellies of our fish.
It’s rather insulting to assume someone throws plastic out into the world in a irresponsible manner
Absolutely ZERO resin leaves my work shop unless it’s in the form of a finished piece. All shavings and especially dust are captured and re cast into finished form pieces. Most recently I made and donated a bench to a local park made from all my resin “waste” … there is no waste in my process. 👍🏻
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Thanks A. Are you a gardener?
Whole video, I was so confused. Then the shock of a lamp. Then the surprise mushroom!
Hahaha.. my work here is done 👍🏻
Lovely work!! I want to experiment with using those little puffballs in a resin pour now, I never thought they’d have such a dreamy psychedelic mold spore appearance! The way they darkened is really interesting as well. Even with the lovely dreamy resin work though, I think my favourite part is the actual body of the lamp itself that you turned, such a lovely piece of wood!
Yes. It’s a beautiful piece of timber isn’t it.
I WANT ONE!!!! 😂 LOVE IT!!!!
Very cool. Love the colors. Great job on this!
Nice one T. You good?
The customer never made you do it, you always have a choice, always
I see you have no sense of humour. 👍🏻
I love this. I just love making this using pom poms and this is next level.
omg mushroom lamp! I'll take 2!
Haha. Really? Most people think it’s disgusting
finally a proper use for those pompoms
I know right ! What are they even for if not casting in resin ?
I had no idea it was going to be a lamp. What a wonderful piece. Good job, sir, good job
To boldly turn what no one has turned before!
