There is a terrific live and duet version featuring both this singer Andi Deris and former/current co-singer Michael Kiske performing this song together. It's an incredible performance from 2018 or 2019, recorded on their amazing "Pumpkins United" tour.
I totally enjoyed your reaction and especially your intro because it made me realize its not just me that tends to ramble and get tongue tied! 😀 The line is "How can you hide your lies." Its the old familiar theme of him finding out that the person he loved has deceived him. Its funny you mention that you were able to understand him clearly since they are a German metal band, and English is not even their first language. Also, you did get it right with Helloween being the band name. I know you still have the other song of theirs coming up closer to Halloween, but if you end up listening to more of them... You'll probably find yourself thinking that parts of their songs remind you of even more bands (Iron Maiden being one to me). Their first album was released in 1985, and they have been pretty popular in Europe especially (as you will see if you react to some of their live shows where you'll see the huge crowds). See, Randi? You're not the only one that tends to ramble, lol. Thanks for reacting to this, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Great reaction to the great band Helloween. There are some good recommandations in the comments if you like to hear more of them. One i haven`t seen is How many tears, a real masterpiece.
It is "How could you hide your lies". This is Helloween's third singer Andy Deris (third as third in timeline, not in skills), after Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen.
Never heard any halloween material til now. What a great power ballad. Typical 80's style power ballad, all the metal band of the time had one. (They sold well). I too had a liking for that voice, he had a really good sound. The guitar solo was played so well, it moved me. Not quite to tears, (a bit too cheesy for that), but close. I'm glad there's another halloween title lined up, I wouldn't turn my back on it for sure. Catch you later. TTFN.
Also, I feel I should point out that Andy Deris is the lead singer here. This one is from their 7th album Time of the Oath. If I'm correct on the next Helloween song you'll be reacting to, Michael Kiske will be the lead singer on that one, and that one is on their second album. On many of the more recent tours, Michael and Andy have sung together and they blend nicely. Finally, its worth noting that their newest album simply entitled Helloween features both on lead vocals as well as their original singer from the first album (and lead guitarist on many albums), Kai Hansen. Okay, I promise... No more rambling for today!!😁
With their 2 Keeper albums, Helloween are considered the forefathers of the power metal. They have 3 good singers. The first was Kai Hansen, who later also founded the band Gamma Ray. The second Michael Kiske, who at 17 already had a brilliant voice and the third was Andi Deris, who could be heard here. The best songs from her early and very successful years were certainly "Eagle Fly Free" and "Keeper OF The Seven Keys". If you like it, you can respond to the young Michael Kiske. I recommend the album recordings, as the concert recordings from this time do not offer good picture and sound quality. These albums were my first serious experiences with West German metal, which was not available in East Germany at the time, and are still some of the best experiences to this day. quality. ruclips.net/video/vUl6hPCYAvc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ZUzpf3mMsxA/видео.html
If you get a chance react to a tale that wasn't right live by Helloween 2006 or their United tour version of this song . You will not be disappointed .
This song is so huge in Asia. Helloween is the pioneer of power metal..
