Hi Paula & Jason! Great video! I seem to always forget just how much I enjoy watching things grow in the spring. Your video has reminded me. It also has motivated me to Google a couple of things that have been neglected since my wife Trish's passing. That is when to cut back roses and Miss Huff Lantanas. I see now that I had better get busy, lol! I usually just cut the grass, and she took care of everything else, including her vegetable gardening and her flower gardening. I'm going to try easing into some of that myself, but it won't be until September, when I retire, that I'll be making an honest effort at it. Thank you for the inspiration! I'm looking forward to seeing your garden grow.

Absolutely amazing! You have so many great things growing. Good point about leaving the soil alone to prevent weeds from popping up. Tilling can bring seeds to the surface or closer to the surface, where they can germinate. I planted artichokes in the past I think, and not had any success, this year, I planted some seeds and some germinated, and they went from like 7 plants that we’re surviving to only 2. I think maybe some aphids got to them in our house or something happened… I’m hoping the 2 that are left, survive. Do you find the lemon balm to be invasive? I’m hoping to get an asparagus bed going this year. This video I think motivated me to use one of our new raised beds for growing asparagus. Only so much space to grow, it’s difficult to decide what I want to grow in the space we have. I’m not sure if the asparagus will grow well in our rocky clay here, so raised beds or hugelkultur will be what we use for that. Full watch. Be well. - Colin
Hi Colin! TY for all the kind words. We have been lucky with the lemon balm, not alot of spreading like the mint. Grows very tall which we don't mind! Asparagus is awesome, we love when you plant once you have food for years to come. Artichokes are big eaters, they really need nitrogen especially after those first leaves that come up.
