Welcome to our channel! Hi everyone! We're P&J! We live in NY State, on a beautiful 25 acres. We love the outdoors, and we have many projects on the to do list! During harvest time we are prepping and storing away one year's worth of food. Join us as we share some garden tips and our favorite recipes with all of you. Come along with us as we forage for wild edible mushrooms. Wildlife always surprises us on nature walks thru our woods, and at our birdfeeders.

Go to the butcher and get some real beef suet. Render it down, make sure no beef is left, mix it with bird seed (no sunflower in the shell please), pour into molds, harden and serve. No bacon grease, no lard.
Hi! Oh ya bacon grease isn't a good idea, lard is very good for birds and sun flower seeds. We do use lard from beef. Hope you give our recipe a try, the birds love it! Thank you for stopping by! -P&J
@@PandJsHomesteadAdventure Hi there, I do put sunflower seed in, but I use the seed that is already shelled. I was once told that it was too difficult for some of the birds to shell the sunflower if they've been in suet. I also put some Cornmeal in. I also mix cornmeal with chunky peanut butter and smear that onto tree trunks or into small logs that have had holes drilled into them. But that's basically only for winter otherwise the peanut butter goes 'funny'. Yes, I will be trying your recipe! Thanks for it.
