    The second effect of Sauravis can be used to negate the activation or effect of Nibiru, since it can only be activated "when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s)" and it negates summons, not activations or effects that include summoning. It is also not possible to negate the summon of Nibiru when it is summoned by its effect, since the summon is done while an activated effect is resolving, and it is not possible to activate effects while resolving an effect. This means effects that negate summons can only be activated in response to a summon that is done outside of the resolution of a chain (such as link, synchro, or xyz summoning, or summoning done immediately after an effect activated as chain link 1 resolves).

    I've unironically used Sauravis in Purrely in TCG, it's quite good as that deck can easily fold to cards like Veiler and Imperm. And I was hoping you would mention Wattkinetic Puppeteer in this video but perhaps that's too niche 😂

  • @Sigmaairav
    @Sigmaairav 2 месяца назад +1

    I'm surprised you didn't mention Skull Meister. You can discard it from the hand to negate an effect activated from your opponents gy. It's a level 4 fiend monster

    To be fair, a number of these were commonly seen and known about for ages, but were merely powercrept in the metagame.
    -Red Reboot saw a lot of side deck play for a long time, but was not seen much since due to backrow heavy decks not being as popular (and things like Imperm and Evenly being the mainly seen traps, not counting Paleo variants.)
    -Phantazmay was used A LOT in the MR4/Link Era. Now that Links aren't as demanding to play the game, Phantazmay sees little to no use. It primary does well vs Link heavy decks, but does absolutely nothing vs anything else.
    -Ghost Mourner is a niche tech card. Retaliating "C" is pretty much insect pile or bust -- coming from someone who played Battlewasp Beetrooper on MD before I stopped playing altogether.
    -Lancea saw a lot of use when Flunder was really popular. Being able to stop banishes is extremely powerful against a deck like that. Chaos Hunter is the same thing, but gives a body on board (that can then be Impermed, Veilered, etc.)
    -Flying "C" is just bad.
    -Delta can see some niche use, but Epsilon not so much. The only things you'd really see Epsilon stop are Imperm (on a monster that can remove itself from the board), or Lab traps going second. Gamma just does their job but way more easily.
    -Ghost Sister is actually one you don't see much, but we just saw in EUWCQ. Tenpai Dragons played it and had LP so damn high their finals opponent couldn't win through it. It's cheeky at best, meh at worst.
    -Engraver only works vs Crossout Designator in the current environment. It's too inconsistent to rely on, and you're better off running literally ANYTHING else over this, even Delta.
    -Sauravis is actually a really good one for this list. It gives a lot of surprise protection, and very few people actually run it, let alone even consider it. If you actually summon Sauravis, you're a madman or playing a generic Ritual deck that can just toss it onto the board.

      I'm a Master Duel player so I'm not well educated on modern TCG Meta. So this video is based on my bias experience playing on Master Duel for the last year or two.
      I was also on Hiatus from the game when Links first came out and we had that 2017 - 2021 master rule in.

    I have run Winter Cherries from time to time. Its good in a blind second deck when the meta is predictable. As for the others, i have tried running several of them in the past. The link negate one though i will have to give a try. With so much Yubel running around, cherries might be an advatagous add.

    I played Ghost Reaper in Labrynth for the xyz cup and damn, the card put in work. Every game it resolved, I won😂 I have all the xyz monster used by Kashtira, Purrely, Exosisters and Rikka and since Labrynth doesn’t need the extra deck it was an easy choice to try the card out finally.

    calling red reboot niche is kinda crazy. that card was absolutely a well-known side deck staple in the tcg before its ban
    that being said, this video is very much filled with niche cards otherwise so ig its not that bad, just wanted to point this one out
    edit: dogwood was/is a weird one in tcg context, seeing use because of the time rules specifically. potentially deciding a game 3 simply because after activating it, your life points are now higher than your opponents, winning you that game because thats all the time rules care about lol

      @OvercastYGO  2 месяца назад +1

      Understandable, but I haven't really played modern TCG so I overlooked that.
      As for Master Duel, Red Reboot is rarely seen unless a deck like Labrynth hits the top of the popularity table.
