Who was being chased by Te kooti a warrior, out to kill him. My chief hid him below his wife. In a potato pit. Te kooti came through but was told he wasn't there. He knew he was there but didn't know where. Woman were never touched by the warriors in those days. Te kooti carried on. But later found out that my chief helped terauparaha. And as a punishment, at night. Our whole subtribe was slaughtered all but the chiefs son and daughter who were sent away, as he knew what was going to happen. And our chiefs body eaten. Head taken as a trophy. Before the mass deaths toa chief composed this haka to my chief as a thanks for saving my life.. our paramount tribe Tuwharetoa knew what had happened. A few nights later. Te kooti and his men where slaughtered to death by our big chiefs brother.
