What a lovely story. Gavin McLeod really had a distinguished career - in particular in his role as Murray in the Mary Tyler Moore show. In a way it's no surprise that Cary Grant was aware of what he achieved!
Nice to know that Grant was still classy to colleagues and the public and kept it together even as an elderly man. He was a troubled soul in his personal life; he even took LSD under psychiatric care to try and rid the demons of his childhood and parents.
Nice story, except Cary Grant died in 1986, not 1984. And he died in Saint Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, not in the theatre where he was performing his one man show.
So often Hollywood stories are about rudeness...nice to hear a positive one! Many thanks for the "positive waves." (Another great Gavin movie...)😂
Cary Grant and Gavin McLeod were true stars, in every sense of the word.
Rest in Peace, gentlemen.
Wow! Great story. I didn't know it would be this amazing. Thanks Gavin!
What a great story! Operation Pettycoat is one of my favorite movies.
Petticoat.

Or as Ted would say "Murr". Great character actors.
Wow. Such a simple but powerful story.
So sweet!
GREAT story!

Three people I would have loved to have met in my life Cary Grant, Mae West and Anthony Perkins; my favorite movie is Psycho.
There so many cool RUclips clips of Perkins and they're just great. Perkins was brilliant!
Look up the Gary Grant Story by Mel Brooks , hilarious... 😉
I'm actually watching Operation petticoat right now. It's a funny movie
Cary Grant played as many US sub captains as he played Brits. Two. Amazing career. No actor other than James Stewart made as many good movies as Cary.
Nice story, except Cary Grant died in 1986, not 1984.

Well, chalk it up to Gavin's not remembering the actual date. The story, though is his.
I just LOVE hearing about unexpected co-castmates. My favorite of all time is AARON SPELLING on I love Lucy! Check it out!
Wow died 2 weeks later . Great story .R.I.P.
