So often Hollywood stories are about rudeness...nice to hear a positive one! Many thanks for the "positive waves." (Another great Gavin movie...)😂

Cary Grant and Gavin McLeod were true stars, in every sense of the word.
    Rest in Peace, gentlemen.

What a lovely story. Gavin McLeod really had a distinguished career - in particular in his role as Murray in the Mary Tyler Moore show. In a way it's no surprise that Cary Grant was aware of what he achieved!

Or as Ted would say "Murr". Great character actors.

Nice to know that Grant was still classy to colleagues and the public and kept it together even as an elderly man. He was a troubled soul in his personal life; he even took LSD under psychiatric care to try and rid the demons of his childhood and parents.

Three people I would have loved to have met in my life Cary Grant, Mae West and Anthony Perkins; my favorite movie is Psycho.

Cary Grant played as many US sub captains as he played Brits. Two. Amazing career. No actor other than James Stewart made as many good movies as Cary.

obviously gavin is not as famous as cary grant, but mtm was a massive hit show, and so was the love boat, of course grant wouldve remembered and known who he was.

Nice story, except Cary Grant died in 1986, not 1984.
And he died in Saint Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, not in the theatre where he was performing his one man show.

Well, chalk it up to Gavin's not remembering the actual date. The story, though is his.

He was rehearsing in the theater for his show when he had a stroke... and was obviously taken to the hospital... there is nothing wrong with the way he said it.
