UNBELIEVABLE Lion gets stuck with its head in a feeding-barrel!

- Three brother lions are being fed in a Zoo near Eindhoven Netherlands. To make feeding a bit more attractive for them, they put the meat in a barrel. They have to get the meat out. Instead one of them puts its head in and gets stuck. Probably because the hole got bigger over time.
A veterinarian came after closing time, shot the lion to sleep and cut it free. He had no injuries but was happy to be free again.
The zoo said they will not use the barrels anymore.

Poor lion, I was stressed watching the video because I thought he would run into something and get injured, but he actually navigated really well with it on his head. He was panicking like when my cats got bags stuck on their heads
To anyone wondering, NO he did not eventually get free. He lived out his days happily as a barrel lion. He was even bred and produced 3 strong healthy barrel headed cubs.

An animal momentarily getting its head stuck is an inherently funny concept. But obviously nobody enjoys the thought of a living thing being in a state of panic for a prolonged period of time. Thats just pure sadism which does not encompass most people.
Let him suffer too a bit as it inflicts suffering on the poor smaller animals out of his so called ANIMAL INSTINCT.

A descrição diz que o leão foi tranquilizado e ele cortaram o barril depois que o zoológico fechou. O zoológico disse que não vai mais usar barris.

Cats are cats!! Anyone who has owned cars has probably seen something similar to this happen. With our kitties it is usually plastic bags which they love to play with. Have them running all through the house with it’s head stuck in the bag.

Krishna Evardo how do you help the lion? Zoo keepers are not lion tamers. They did not raise the lions from birth so it's dangerous for workers.
Only way is to shoot the lion so it falls asleep and then remove the barrel.
If you applied for the job of a zoo caretaker, and was chosen, that doesn't make it any safer for you or any worker.
At first, the barrel was reluctant, but once the lion went inside, the barrel knew they were meant for each other. When the barrel told the lion it wanted to have his children, the lion attempted to flee, but it was too late. Child support for life inc.
I would like to know the outcome of this situation. Did the lion manage to get rid of the drum? Did someone take the drum for him?
Why does the feeding barrel have one small hole in the middle? Shouldn't it be open all thoughout so lions can feed freely and comfortably?

One lion helped his mate by removing huge piece of meat to reduce weight of the feeding barrel. That lion is a friend indeed! Secondly, I wonder how that lion with head stuck in barrel was able to navigate all the obstacles when panicked running. It looks as if the lion knows his surroundings well.
