The Kinks have so many fantastic songs, such as 'You Really Got Me', 'All of the Day and All of the Night', 'Waterloo Sunset', 'Days', 'Tired of Waiting' and 'Where Have All the Good Times Gone'. Thanks for your reaction. 😊😊
It was so funny to me that they banned it for coca cola but the rest was fine 😂😂😂
They changed it to cherry cola after wich coca cola cam up with cherry coke
@@Teresia12 I know, doesn't matter about the rest of the lyrics, but coco cola, you can't say that!! 🤣🤣
BBC
The "went over his head" meme is perfect for this reaction! BPis all about the lyrics but missed this one!
Lol "this story is dope" without realizing what the words are saying 😂
LOL! Bless your heart! lol 🤠 You would really be confused by "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed!
My daughter got a old beat up pickup truck to drive in high school, it was all I could afford, she named it Lola after this song. Lol Lola Roxanne ( yes after the police song). She turns 30 this year. ❤
You raised her well. 🥰
Absolutely a great band and good song. They broke barriers!!!
Listen again. Read the lyrics. Go watch the movie "The Crying Game". Enjoy The Kinks. "Waterloo Sunset" is one of the prettiest songs in the English language.
BP so innocent!! I can't believe he didn't pick it up!!
Honey Im 20 some odd years older than you. With how the world has changed since this song came out I would've thought you would get it. Most of us got it right away even back then.
Please come back and let us know you hot it. We were all waiting for it. Are you tired today? You usually get it.
🤣🤣🤣it did go right over your head!! I’m a man and so is Lola… still my daughters father-in-law who is in his 70’s has always been a fan of the kinks , when I said about who Lola was his jaw hit the floor…😂😂😂😂
BP gotta make a reaction video of him reading these comments!!
This is a master class in "dodging the censors".
The few things that give away the "secret" can be explained away, or missed entirely.
"I know what I am, and I'm glad I'm a Man, and so's Lola".
Well, Lola is also glad he's a man. I mean she's a woman, so... 🧐
"When she squeezed me tight, she nearly broke my spine".
Well, she's a passionate lady, and she works out...
"She picked me up and put me on her knee".
Like I said... she works out... 🤨
I never understood why this song wasn’t more controversial for the time it was released. It got soooo much radio play.
“I left home just a week before, and I’d never ever kissed a woman before….”
At the end he still had never kissed a woman. 😂😂😂
Because up until recently nobody cared apart from twats, but now a minority is using it to divide society
No social media to tell you haw you should feel
It never got the censor's attention any more than Lou Reed 's "never lost her head even when she was giving head..." . It went right over their heads.
Take a Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed did as well, and it's more explicit.
Probably because the DJ's missed it too.
😂😂😂😂😂Im lmao cause when I have put this song on for guys in the past they never bother to listen to the lyrics and just sing along then I would point out whats up then they got shooketh from the reality absolutely love it and as usual you rock😍🤙
You keep saying “in my youth” and in my head I keep hearing the Led Zeppelin song Good Times Bad Times “In the days of my youth I was told what it means to be a man” great song check it out!!
Definitely needed the lyrics playing on this one. That last verse:
"Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola"
A beetle is a bug, The Beatles is a play on the word musical Beat.
I swear I remember that they got the idea for the name of their band from Buddy Holly and the Crickets.
you're a good sport for not deleting this, a true honest guy.
You really, really need to listen to "Drops of Jupiter" by Train. Remember, it's a tribute to his Mom who just passed. I don't want to ruin it, but people don't get it of the don't know that. ❤❤❤ Your channel. Kiss your sweetheart, you baby girl and the belly for me. LoL ❤❤❤
Can you imagine....your best friend cooking that diwn home chicken???
Yessss! I haven't watched for awhile. I love you finally did this
Was waiting for you to catch on but didn’t happen, lol.
I f...... loved this reaction - waiting all the way through for the light to hit you and you were so close
OMG how could you have completely missed it????😂😂😂😂😂
Lord Child you killing me right now!!! that went right over your head... I so wanted to see your face when you caught it,,, still laughing!!!
I'm sure you never had a woman like Lola , listen to this song again very close ,lol
I was waiting for you to do this for your reaction! You entertain this old man every day. Thank you.
If you are hitting this era - will you do a new member a favour and check out The Who - Behind Blue Eyes? Great reaction dude - as always.
Yesssss
......or Won't get fooled again
Damn man. I was 14 years old when this came out and I knew exactly what he was talking about the first time I heard it.
When I was a boy this song came out
I had no clue what it was about
When I became older I understood it
I just liked the riff
Dude, that's so sweet, and I always reckoned life should be just like you took this song. Big props to you!
Love the Kinks! Look at Sunny Afternoon ☀️
I’ve watched many reactions on YT to this song. It’s really fun. I was surprised that he didn’t get it.
It’s a true story happened to their manager
This was way before its time. Love your reaction.
When I heard and sang with this as a teen, I didn’t understand the lyrics. As an adult when the light dawned it blew my mind. There are a lot of songs that have stories that I now get as adult but this is the most blatant one.
Lmao! I was waiting.... and ur going on and on.... missed it "dog" still laughing, but also still love you!
Listen again to the very LAST line.
You mean the last word of the chorus
Hey, being born in ‘85, it took me years. 🤷🏻♀️ You grow up just singing along with the chorus.
Still waiting for that light bulb to go off!!! LMAO!!
I love reactions when the reactor figures it out during the song. The look on their face is always hilarious
Oh, young man, listen again. Good song though~! Thanks for an entertaining reaction, loved it~!
in1970 when this song first came out it was band from many Radio stations because of the songs content a lot of the Radio stations refused to play it the subject matter in it was a taboo back then not like now days I'm loving it that you totally missed the meaning of this song that's the best part of this Reaction
I’m seeing all these posts to look up the lyrics. It took me years to understand this song, and my mom actually telling me to listen to the lyrics 😂it’s still a cool song! I love the “Cherry Cola” lol 😂 I love how they sing Lola too ❤it’s a pretty cool flow that goes together. ❤
They had to change the line to avoid being sued
I loved this song when it first came out, I was just about in my teens. It was hilarious when the penny finally dropped, the whole song had been throwing out clues from the start. Over 50 years later it still makes me smile, fortunately this never ever happened to me... although I definitely remember some strange women...
Weird Al did a parody of this song called Yoda. It is really good.
I was waiting for your reaction at the twist and then I was like; oh no, he missed the most important line. I can’t wait to see if Don catches it. I absolutely love how you always look for the good in songs. Also, Congratulations on baby girl #2
It's almost like trans people existed before Jordan Peterson and JK Rawlings started to bash them for clout.
i dont know what a trans person is exactly but i know what a transvestite is. i enjoy petersons and rawlings push back on transvestites of today. not like transvestites of the past. they have been around since the beginning
Not initially getting the lyrics just shows it was a genuine reaction.
Lol! I'm dying! Lola fooled you too !!
LOL!!!!! I can't believe you didn't catch on! The first time I heard this song I was 15 years old, riding with my cousin in her 50's era car. We both laughed so hard! I got to see a Kinks reunion concert in the 2000's in Austin. It was wild! Seriously, listen a few more times and see if you can figure it out. I just discovered you and I've been bingeing!
I am dying over here. Halfway through and you mentioned a girl like Lola. Wait until you hear the whole song.
Haha when I see you had reacted to Lola I couldn't wait for this one ! Your faces are so expressive! So I knew this was going to be a good one 🤣😂🤣😂🇬🇧
Ray Davies said he was inspired to write the song after their manager spent the night dancing in Paris and discovered he had been dancing with a cross dresser all night
Thanks, Peg! Kinks have SO many great songs.. across all genres of music.. .in fact, they do my very favorite Christmas song... "Father Christmas".. when you get around to it, look at the LIVE version... and make sure you get lyrics! appreciate your reaction.... it's fun to see/hear people who don't "get" Lola right away... lol
