So I can call Samus "Metroid" now.
lmao true
Well yes but !.. yes
Yep
True
so... can we say Metroid can crawl now?
I think i understand the story behind the Chozo Archives. It recapped everything that happened on ZDR BEFORE Samus arrived.
/)
Exactly. How Kraid ended up in this planet, that's the only wtf moment. But everything else is pretty straightforward, not the best story in the world, but it's at least easy to follow
@@RRRRRRRRR33 The Mawkin tribe captured him from Zebes before the planet exploded. The story is just fine.
@@chrange9714 Yeah, any plot holes can pretty much be covered by: Raven Beak has been following Samus's growth this entire time and since the dna wasnt awakened cause the Thoha dna Grey Voice gave her, he had to do his own plotting to get the metroids, eventually the X were fucking around and with Samus killing all the metroids he had no option but to lure her and get her Metroid dna to awaken.
So RB having captured Kraid would make sense, however, since Kraid falls into lava which seems to be a shortcoming of his, i think its more likely they harvested some of his dna/stole his dna from Space Pirates and proceeded to clone him, as cloning is apparently something Chozo love to do.
What compels me the most is that this entire time the chozo were thought to have been extinct, having almost entirely ascended to pure energy based on archives in the Prime games, so the fact that the Mawkin tripe stayed hidden and grew how it did was astounding. Though i suppose they couldnt achieve the sort of enlightenment that would allow you to ascend to a greater form.
This game just adds a whole new layer to the games lore and i FUCKING LOVE IT SO GODDAMN MUCH. This series is my favorite franchise and im SO FUCKING EXCITED to see where they take the story now.
Presumably with the additional Thoha X dna given to Samus, she has more control over her metroid dna. So maybe she has a sort of Metroid form now? Maybe its like the Phazon mode in Prime 3 with the super lazer? Hooooly fuck guys dread has been in the works since before Prime 3, WHAT IF THE PHAZON MODE IS BASED ON THIS METROID FORM THEY HAD THE IDEA FOR.
Fuck this is so much. Im so excited to see metroid back in its proper glory.
You don’t say!
Planets destroyed by the Death Star: Alderaan
Planets destroyed by Samus: Zebes, SR388, ZDR
Samus leads the Death Star 3-1 in planets destroyed. Are we sure the Chozo raised her and not Galactus?
Dark Aether too, if you want to split hairs hehe
and that is without counting all the spaces stations to that score
And Phaaze
She is honestly dangerous, no wonder it seems she will be hunted by the galactic federation in future Metroid games (including Prime 4)
the death star has destoryed like three planets if i remember correctly
The primal rage in her eyes. pog
7:36 Samus going full on rage is the most epic moment!
My favourite thing about this part is that you can see Samus actually digging one of her finger into Raven Beak’s fucking eyeball.
This isn’t for 100% completion. It’s for SPEED. Which is bullshit btw, cuz I did all of that grinding to get all of the items… for nothing. It was all about the SPEED.
19:13 at this scene we can see a true hero that saved samus with his life, can you guess who is?
Quiet robe of course

Samus know that it's not Adam 1:11
At least ridley is on 2 Pictures
I think the story is kinda weard. That she is part chozo too makes no sense to me. Metroid and X was explained in fusion, ok. But since when the heck is she a chozo experiment?
Apparently she was raised by a Chozo after Ridley killed everyone on her planet and the chozo infused their dna with hers

What Do You Mean
what's the secret ending?
Was gonnaget the game but i saw the thumbnail
Aww, does she not even take her helmet off at the end if you do a good job? =(
Honestly, I feel a little disapointed, the ending wasnt special, Ridley wasnt in this game, final battle felt rushed, you dont feel real changes in the zones and the game was too short
Angry Bird.
First.
So does this have multiple endings or not
Unless they add some in an update, it looks like there are no different endings, sadly.
@Aubrey Lucy Phase one when he's glowing orange just wait so you can Counter his Red Arm rush attack. If he taunts you, do the Running counter attack on him so he counters you and you can blast away with missiles
Gotta say I was excited for this game, but my interest has dropped severely seeing that Samus doesn't even go Zero Suit for the ending. I miss the old Super Metroid for that and can't help but feel Nintendo has gone woke here.
@snagagsvdbahagsvz Like, don't get me wrong. I'm sure the game is fun, but I always used to enjoy earlier Metroid games that rewarded the player for clearing everything or doing it quickly with Samus taking her suit off and having some time to relax. I get the feeling that such mechanics are considered inappropriate for modern society and that bothers me.
I see what you're saying but, the zero suit is in the game - as the final art piece. Its just 2D instead of 3D. Seems more like they just wanted to celebrate the series history - especially since there is a version of that art with her suit on and then the final one with the zero suit - that is probably this games version of the Zero suit reward.
So there is in fact, Zero suit reward - just for 100%ing this time around, its just 2D instead of 3D - honestly its just as subastantial if not more than zero mission and fusions zero suit reward. Both of those were just 2D art sprawls too but without much context - just Samus doing a pose
It's in the gallery though. Lol people who complain about woke are more annoying than woke themselves
@@stevesmith2637 That one pic in the gallery is so tame tho.

@@LudaChez oh boy... Wait till you play Metroid II, and at least Metroid Prime 1 (haven't beaten 2 or 3 yet... So idk...)
@@buddeman27 Prime one has an escape sequence from the area you fight Prime. I just don't think you "play" is but she definitely has to escape. Prime 2 absolutely has a traditional escape and 3 has something similar.
Metroid II never really counted since it was on GB. But the remake has something to make up for it.

Metroid Prime has a playable escape sequence at the beginning of the game. You have to escape Pirate Frigate Orpheon after killing the Parasite Queen. Prime 2 has the escape from Dark Aether. Prime 3 doesn't have one. Metroid 2 was on Game Boy, but AM2R has the Power Plant escape after getting Power Bombs and laying one. Prime Hunters has 8 Security Program Escapes, one for each Octolith, but if you do Alinos 2nd Octolith last, you can go right to the Alimbic Cannon, cancel out the timer, and go right to the final area.

Samus being the last Metroid in existence can open up so much possibilities for the series. So many people would want her dead, controlled, or captured.
True. I think a neat alternate timeline could have her become a villain or a new Metroid Queen and a new hero/heroine would have to gun her down and put her out on her misery. I would think being a Metroid would mean you have an insatiable hunger all the time.

Well well well
Even though we don't get a suitless Samus scene, this game 100% feels like an apology for Other M.
That abrupt ending though... 😂😂
It doesn't feel like that at all cause they never needed to apologize. There was nothing more to show after the planet blew up, of course it ends there.

Just noticed that the Raven Beak/X hybrid is just a two eyed Kraid (before it's face opened up)
It's probably the x you fought in the lava area later in the game Samus doesn't absorb that and fall into the lava where kraid might have been he died in lava too

oh shut up. The only people hating Other M are sexists
@@mellissamercado7904 the writing was terrible. You can make a character strong and have emotion without making her out to be weak. And the game made her weak. This was not Samus, this was a woman submitting to her superior out of fear and misplaced loyalty. She shoulda told him to fuck off and went in alone. She doesn't play well with others. This game made Samus look bad andnit made female protagonists as a whole look bad. The problem wasnt Other M, the problem was Samus.
Why is the title All Endings when there’s just one?
Because the number of Screen shots you get at the end changes based on your file progress
@@HeavyMetalLink05 ... that's... not an 'ending'. That's an unlockable. :\
Yeah, it says 'All Endings' when there's just one '& 100% Reward' implying that the extra screen shots are separate from the 'endings.' Of course the other people who uploaded the ending pluralized it too, so I guess Prosafia just doesn't want to look like they have less content? Maybe??

...
I'm *still* proud that Quiet Robe wasn't a boss. This isn't poor writing it's actually excellent writing ! It gives him strength, and makes him play a role even as Quiet Robe X. As the only one who knew a lot about the X he managed to control its will and restore his own, toughly but surely.
Quiet Robe wasn't controlling the X
@@Zelinkondorf Yes he did. Some people say that it's just Samus not being a threat to the X anymore but let's not forget that Quiet Robe BOWED down at her ! That means he took over the X one way or another because normally when someone is infected they loose all their senses. Even in the scene where Quiet Robe X activates the E.M.M.I bots again he keeps repeating that he's counting on Samus.
@@gamingstation0608 In a roundabout way, you're sort of right. I think it's less 'Quiet Robe's will remained' though, and more 'Quiet Robe-X inherited the memories of Quiet Robe and made decisions based on that'. There have been previous cases of X parasites not 'losing their senses', such as the Scientist-X in Fusion that tried to overload the BSL station, presumably to kill Samus who, at that point, had become the last Metroid. SA-X also retains Samus' memories of her abilities and experience, even such that it hunts Samus, who is, again, now technically the last Metroid the exact same way she hunted Metroids on SR-388: freezing with the ice beam and blasting with missiles. In all of those cases however, the X were using the memories and experience of the hosts to pursue the ends of the X themselves. To do the opposite, to use the memories and experience of the host to pursue the ends of the host, probably would take tremendous willpower, just like you said. I don't believe Quiet Robe 'came back' through the X, however; I believe it just mimicked his own desires and pursued them.
You're definitely right that it's excellent writing, though.
@@geneericname7138 Thanks for giving all the details I missed haha ! And yes definitely an impressive plot twist for future games !
@Uncertified Player he kept repeating "I am counting on you" because that was the last thing Quiet Robe said before he died. And when the X parasite took his body that memory was imprinting on it and the X was just living through that. The X are neither bad nor good. They just survive.

@@RRRRRRRRR33 It looks like a metroid larva.
@R The older Metroid forms are very clearly insect-like, the Alphas and Gammas both look almost like beetles
I really thought there would be more to the ending. Samus had to kill a Chozo and might not even be human any more and yet we don't get any idea where she is going from here...hopefully we will find out one day.
she hasnt been human since fusion.
She went full on metroid until she absorbed silent robes chozo dna, that rebought samus's metroid DNA under control to the point she isnt constantly sucking up energy anymore.
how much of a metroid she is now is still up in the air. could of reverted back to that inbetween state she has been in since before the events of dread, could be to the point right before the raven beak fight where she could absorb energy at will.
im hoping for the latter, especially if prime 4 takes place after this in the time line. Samus being an awakened metroid, the ONLY metroid left in the galaxy is such a huge note to leave off on.
Let’s be real here I doubt Nintendo knows where Samus will go next either. But with her being (supposedly) the last Metroid in the universe, imagine how many entities will desire her. Maybe even the Federation itself. It could go anywhere from here
Presumably to sell off her upgrades for living expenses until the next time there's a distress call, just like every other metroid game.

So, now what? Metroids are now gone, the X is no more....does this mean Samus becomes a fugitive due to having Metroid DNA? Or being perceived as a threat due to her Metroid powers? Maybe the next adventure finds her having to run from bounty hunters or escaping a prison planet. Hope we don’t have to wait a decade to find out.
The federation already knows she has metroid DNA in her, that's what they cured her with in metroid fusion, and since that DNA went berserk at the sight of beak face the DNA from quiet robe helped essentially stabilize all 3 foreign DNA outside of her own so who knows how they're gonna react to her condition now but doubt they're gonna be strong enough to take her down at her power level

I bought this game and almost no life'd it. It took a weekend to do. Metroid games aren't inherently long and this game even streamlines the process a bit.
I just beat the game! It was the best Metroid game to date
Well, not only that, but this game is like 6 hours long at best if you play at a "normal" pace (I mean, any players who had any metroidvania experience whatsoever can do that, maybe in even less time). Extremely linear, bosses are well done for most time and the checkpoint is very near to them which is a good QOL approach. Good game, but I don't think it justifies the full price tag at all, especially considering how indies can create much more coherent and better designed content. I mean, that chinese game named FIST is actually more enjoyable than this game, by a slight margin, and the graphics are arguably better because of the Unreal engine and most people takes 13 hours or so to finish it. Double the amount of content, arguably better designed.. and the price? $30 compared to the $60 of Dread
@@RRRRRRRRR33 we don't know what it took to make Metroid Dread, how long it's been in pre production.

It seems Dread is being production ever since 2017 at least, 3 to 4 years production that is +- the time the three australians developed Hollow Knight. Now look at the cheer size of content in HK compared to Dread? HK is superior at every possible aspect, it offers 3 to 4x more content and it's priced at 15 bucks, it's inexcusable what Nintendo did with this Metroid game
and thn samus turned into a metroid. funniest crap ive ever seen.
Hey Louis
I’m thinking of getting this game but never played more than 5 minutes of a 2d Metroid. Should I play the games in order or just buy it?
All of the games can be enjoyed without playing the older games, I started with Prime, then did Zero Mission, then Fusion and Super. Do them in whatever order you like! I only suggest doing them in order if you care about lore.
Start with Zero Mission
Play Zero Mission and Super Metroid first. They're the best ones.
Play zero mission first, but don't expect the same level of quality besides samus returns (remake of metroid 2 for gameboy), with the older games. Go in knowing your going playing a remake of the 1st game, to possibly another remake of the 2nd game, and the 3rd one being on the super nintendo vs gameboy advance (zero mission), and 3DS (samus returns), I've seen some people play zero mission, then play super, and say super feels slow and boring.
It's a game that came out 1994 (my favorite game of all time), and it's obviously not going to be better than it's predecessors, they had time to perfect the 2d metroid formula by the time they got to zero mission. Dread further improved it. It's now my 2nd favorite metroid. Go in with that mindset though I mentioned above, and you'll be fine. Good luck, they're pretty challenging games, but not too difficult, when you know what you're doing.
@@PharoahsKingdom He needs to play Fusion before Dread

Ahh so metroid can crawl now…and go berserk too
I think its a pretty cool ending its Metroid after all.
The thumbnail look’s like iron man holding the infinity gauntlet
Ah yes the credit roll, a "nintendo" game outsourced to Spain.
And the Spaniards did a magnificent job!
Hmm. I thought the ending was sudden because I didn't 100% the game. Now I see it's just sudden in general.
Sooo Samus is no longer human? Or is she a mutant or subhuman now? She has Metroid DNA in her along with 2 different chozo's who have there own unique abilities from their genes. Can she even procreate with humans or at all now? What would the off spring look like if she could?
She hasn’t really been human for a long time, ever sense the Chozo gave her their DNA
I dont like the setup of this game, since the gallery was tied to the saved file, i cant make multiple save files to unlock bonuses 😑 in zero mission and fusion, gallery was outside the saved game. So, i can have separate files for different difficulty settings.
Aww.
i love how with each iteration, the devs give samus more curves and hip swings while she walks, u can def tell its a female in that suit. lol.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed lol
so no secret ending like every metroid sad
Well, it was an outside team that worked on the game, even if they did have oversight from Sakamoto (though I'm surprised how well it worked out, considering the last time Sakamoto directed an outside team...).
@@HenshinFanatic was un outside team?
@@christianprevost8455 yes because they're done (outside patches that fix any gamebreaking issues that show up after launch) working on the game.
@@HenshinFanatic like what

I still haven't seen anyone say that the Omega Cannon came back from Prime Hunters.
@Mila Riley Metroid has a lot of potential to make something new and amazing post Dread. Hope we get more soon.
I still think it's stupid that Samus doesn't take the suit off in the final results screen. That's a staple to the Metroid franchise.
Yeah, but blame current year politics for that, I'm sure they wanted to have it since IIRC they put it in for Samus Returns.

Samus is the most badass female hero Nintendo has ever created
Also is it me or does the Metroid Fusion art look like a JOJO thing?
Kind of sad, we don't get helmetless Samus or Zero suit endings for full completion of the game. :( nintendo woke'd muh Metroid.
edit: It was a light joke calling it woke, it appears some people take offense to it.
It's funny, like the Nintendo fan base are bothered about samus and her "other" look.....
But hay the old metroids are fine but people would have lost it if a new game featured a woman's body.
@snagagsvdbahagsvz Really dude. Nothing about my comment was about sexualizing Samus. You're just putting words in my mouth because you can't take half a second to understand the mild critic I'm trying to make here. Zero-Suit Samus/Helmetless Samus has always been a staple of the franchise since the start of it's inception with the original Metroid. The game is great, with or without the amount of Art/Secret bonuses we get for 100% completion. It's fair to say they removed the hardcore endings because of dumb snowflakes who can't handle strong heroine leads, to be "sexualized" as you call it. But because I lightly made a joke about it being woke, you're the one who had to point out an argument that was never there in the first place. Way to go dummy. You made me have to explain myself, when I don't owe you one.
@snagagsvdbahagsvz no youre the weido here. Zero suit Samus is in every Metroid but this one and you make it about something being oversexualized. If hat was the case then she wouldn't be in Smash Bros right? Stop overreacting it wont get you any cool points with the oposite sex.
I believe this is where the story ends my friend...
Hahahaha Zero Suit Samus appears everywhere all the time (even in non Metroid games) and you're saying it's because it's "woke?"
Come on. This game is supposed to be an end to the original Metroid saga. This was Metroid 5. It said it was ending and we got crazy badass Metroid suit Samus (pause the game and go in to your Samus page and it tells you about the suit and the Hyper beam) and she flies off basically being the last Metroid.
"The last Metroid is in captivity, the galaxy is at peace"
Then if you 100% the game you get the finale image of a Metroid collage with her in her zero suit.
So now this isn't some "woke" nonsense. You snowflakes love to insert that term in to any moment and call other people snowflakes. Go buy the Zero Suit Amiibo or something or the many other pieces of merchandise with the Zero Suit if you miss it so much. There is plenty real official Nintendo merch of it everywhere. But yeah they didn't throw it in to a game that basically was in development for 15 years because they "got woke"
What is the 100% reward
Art unlocks. Get them for each area you get everything in
@@DreamChasersInc no alternative endings? Wonder why he put all endings

Bro where are the endings?!?!??!!?!?!!!!
In those QTE cutscenes so long as you aren't seeing a "yellow counter" indicator the moves Samus pulls are automatic right?
Working on this guy now and I can tell you have Chozo Warrior counter moments and a few where he charges you.
He can be countered when he flashes red to charge attack you, you'll notice the flash just before he dashes at you. Also, his first counterable moment happens after you deal enough damage to him at the beginning of the fight, you'll see his blue energy armor slowly turn red where he charges that huge wave blast that you have to duck, then you can counter him. This progresses to the 2nd stage of the fight, where you have to counter his dash attack or wait for him to stop moving and laugh/goad you in but you gotta be reeeeally close to counter him so be ready for that. Doing this sequence a couple of times will make him reveal his wings to you and that's where the real fight begins. You gotta dodge him when he either dashes to the left or right walls, or slams himself to the ground. He also shoots a laser beam from his cannon so watch closely for the timing to dodge that. He also has a rapid fire attack which is the most annoying because you have to combine your screw attack jumping skills and the flash shift to effectively jump and move clockwise/counterclockwise around him to avoid the rapid fire. Eventually when you do enough damage he rips his wings off for the final part of the fight. Basically, you just got to jump over him when he flashes blue because that one is not counterable. He shoots the laser beams in this phase too but are easier to dodge since he's not in the air anymore. Lastly, he has three other attacks to watch out for, one where he raises his gun arm to let loose a wave attack that covers most of the area except right in front of him/back of him, it drains your health like those green whale looking enemies in Ghavoran. The other two are his black energy bomb and red energy bomb. Both are easily dispatched from a safe distance with a quickly timed power bomb. I just beat the game on normal today. It's gonna be a bish to do the hard mode run now. XD
Metroid Dread seems more like a Horror Sci-fi shooting game than a Fun video game. Also, Samus is fighting her father for the very first time in history
wdym its still a fun video game dude
Yeah, i know. But most likely imagine this as a Horror game.that would be double fun.
@@Homer_Sipmson I'd make sense tho, Metroid and Horror mix REALLY well. I'd even consider Metroid Prime as a semi horror
That’s been pretty much the case for the entire mainline series.
Metroid was heavily influenced by Ridley Scott’s Alien. Hence why one of the bosses is named Ridley.
"Horror" is a ridiculous stretch, as it doesn't land it nearly as well as Fusion, despite trying so hard to do so. The EMMI are more an inconvenience than anything. You're not hunted, they patrol a very specific area, traversing which is frustratingly tedious.
I just love that samus turned into a Metroid. She became what she genocided. It’s beautiful irony
