We hope you enjoy our tour of Windsor and Eton. **Note a correction* On the river we mentioned Ascot Racecourse. This should have been Windsor Racecourse.** Also look at our socials for more photos instagram.com/memoryseekers/ facebook.com/memoryseekersuk Our website also has more information and places to visit. www.memoryseekers.net For something to watch next why not try another location close to London. Hampton Court Palace and walk in the footsteps of King Henry VIII ruclips.net/video/ZKenNspFQ4E/видео.html

Was born and raised in the US but my ancestors came from all over Great Britain. I would give ANYTHING to live there someday. The beauty of your country is indescribable and it's history is my Obsession in life. If I never get over there to visit or live, your videos are the next best thing! They fill me with tremendous happiness and peace, thank you ❤ I am so very grateful.

I love these cities that you can stroll around feeling the history. The most amazing thing is some of the buildings are so old but still standing firm. Probably they will outlast many modern buildings. Thanks again, you two are so amazing taking us along on your journey. =-)

I visited Windsor and London way back in 1977 during the Queen's Silver Jubilee, I think I was 12 at the time so I can't say it appears at all what I saw back then but vaguely the same. We even got a glimpse of Elizabeth in her golden carriage. Not sure if the picture we took still exists. I am grateful to see that there is so much more to the UK than London where you can't even see all the numerous sights, so many museums and interesting places, and that so many of the towns and villages are being preserved and visited. And not being left to crumble away like they are in so many parts of the world. Thank you for sharing your time with us out here in RUclipsland!

Windsor has become my go to place for last night before flying home to US. Only 15 drive through the parkland where Magna Carta was signed to get to Heathrow and as you show, lots of things to see and do in Windsor.
I’m sorry to see the slanted house looks empty now. About 10 years ago, it was a tea room. My mom and I had lunch on the first floor. Funny it didn’t look as slanted from inside
I enjoy traveling with you to all these places I’ve already been. You always add in something I missed plus stories about things I saw but didn’t know.
    Thank you for this series

A great presentation and very well filmed. I liked the boat trip at the start. That kind of drew us into the rest of the story .
I visited once quite a long time ago and can remember the old railway station. I imagine one needs a fair sum of money to go on a cruise or an open top bus. As for that river side eatery. I doubt if you would get in there without booking.

    • @MemorySeekers
      @MemorySeekers  Год назад

The open top bus is £14 for a day card, and the cruise we did was £11 for the hour. Booking ahead is always good if possible but you never know, just depends on the day, time and numbers of other people that have decided to head to Windsor. There are a few riverside places to choose from.

Hi the horses you said are from the royal mews are actually from the household Calvary. Cavalry blacks. They have a coach team in Windsor. I recognise the carriage. As I used to help out at weekends with the horses etc. I have been on that carriage getting very cold many a time.

An excellent video guys, I now live in Canada and it's great to see my old home, where I grew up. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that on your river cruise you point to Ascot racecourse which is in fact Windsor racecourse. Nevertheless a brilliant video, thank you, btw I have subscribed to your channel because of the excellent standard of presentation.

Hi Robert yes we did make the mistake on the racecourse, don’t know why I had ascot in my head. We put a note in the first comment a while back about it. So glad you enjoyed the tour 😊

I used to live near Windsor & went to school there in the late 50s early 60s, it sure has changed however one of my lasting memories was travelling to Windsor by bus when the bus driver tapped on the window & pointed, there was the Queen & Prince Philip on horse back, NO SECURITY, they were just waiting for a gap in the traffic so that they could cross the road & carry on towards the copper horse monument.

There is a cannon in the Castle bell tower which was placed tbere djring the Civil War. It is aimed right at Windsor Bridge. So, pedestrians walking across the bridge are blissfully unaware that they have a 17th century cannon aimed directly at them!

Glad you enjoyed Windsor! As a local, I appreciated you saying Peascod Street as Pezcud, I saw your comment where you corrected the racecourse as being Windsor not Ascot and I was worried that Riverside station was going to overlooked as at the start it sounded like you thought there was only one station!

Yes silly mistake on the racecourse but it was uploaded before I realised. You play it back many times before making it live looking for mistakes and there it was! Haha. Really pleased you enjoyed it.

This saved me typing as I was about to wonder how they could see Ascot from the Thames. Hehe
Still a few issues, though, the Ducks are not WWII but purpose built and there aren't any horses kept in the mews. Good try on Peascod Street.
