In 1996, its status changed. In commemoration of the King’s golden jubilee, a large image of the Buddha was carved into the face of the rock user laser technology. Most of the carving was done at night to take full advantage of the contrast between the darkness and the light emanating from the laser machine. Once the outline of the image was done, the engraving was filled in with gold. The image is a portrait of a crossed-legged Buddha with the right hand resting on the right knee and the left hand in his lap facing upward. This pose represents the moment Buddha reached enlightenment. It is known as “Calling the Earth to Witness,” or “Earth Touching,” and it is the most common pose used in representations of the Buddha in Thailand.
During the Vietnam war rocks from the site were used for the American base. After the war illegal mining was happening. When the then King put an end to the mining he didn’t want to leave the mountain barren so he had the Buddah created. It’s beautiful..
I wish the small city I was born in had something like this, the city is situated in the Vale do Rio Doce and we have the foot of Pico da Ibituruna that could use a castle with an amazing restaurant serving nice steak.....that steak was cooked perfectly, I wish they had asked you to film the kitchen. Yes sir yes sir. Great area to live away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Pattaya. Great golfing at Chee Chan golf course. Another great video CMIT and thanks for your analysis of the area. Nong Nooch is a must visit with the elephant show.
Have been out to the Khao Chi Chan Buddha 2 times. now have to check out that Prime Rib at the CDB restaurant next time... I am ready to drop $165 USD on a meal.... um maybe New years or something very special..
tip top looking steak.... yeah looks medium rare but I think in this case the chef knew his/her steak goooooood :) so yes medium rare all day long is the way:) for sure excellent looking place and meal. don't even care about the price, dinner there is an event.

The atmosphere she creates specially compared to these boring women we are (mostly) surrounded with in the west seems mindblowingly fun. Really you must be having a blast with her! Treat her good, feed her good haha and keep her close man.

I heard about that place a year ago from a friend of mine who owns a small steak restaurant in Pattaya. Thanks for going out there and doing the recon for the rest of us cuz man that place is FAR from the beach here in P town !

about $ 180.00 meals for 2 people sounds fair $100 for the viues & $ 80 for the beefsteaks and desert.
