So I met Leonid the morning after a show in Jim Thorp PA. (July 2019), as I stayed at the same hotel as the entire band. (met everyone in the band as well) He and I spoke alone outside in the parking lot for a good 10 mins. He told me that he had to break down every song for all the members/ all the music for each instrument as well as the vocals. As we spoke I requested for him to consider my favorite Chicago song ...DIALOGUE PARTS 1 & 2. He said he knew the song and will consider adding it.... well - he did! Thank you Leonid!!! Another interesting note - he said that it is every musicians dream to come to America and play in front of the American audience.
That's one of the things that draws me to this band. Lenoid & the older members grew up in the bad old days of communist Russia, & would hear American Rock 'n Roll on AM radio in the middle of the night from broadcasts in eastern Europe. Lenoid wanted to form a band, but there was no access to electric instruments, not that they were too expensive to afford, but they simply did not exist in Russia at the time, & had to scratch build their instruments out of equally scarce parts. The fact that him & others were able to live long enough to see communism fall, form a band & play the music they love, (and be very good at it) & tour the U.S. & actually make some money doing it along the way brings a tear to my eye.
Hey, we were at that same show! Did they make a good job of it, or what? Lucky you, to meet the band at the hotel where you were staying! (Did you meet Ksenia as well??!!) Thanks for your suggestion to them that they add this to their repertoire (one of my favorites as well), on this video, they hit it out of the park as they always do, what a nice group of people who obviously like what they do. Hope to see them again. Merry Christmas!
@@74bshs Yes met Ksenia as well... they all were incredible! I will see them again whether in PA or a surrounding state....Maybe keep in touch and we all can meet at a show.
@@des3298 I would like that very much! I saw the real Chicago back in the mid-70's at the Spectrum in Philadelphia; Leonid and Friends are the next best thing to them as they were at that time. John in Montrose, PA
David Staats I took my wife, son, and daughter in law to see them here in Jacksonville Florida on December 6th...they were fantastic. Even the younger ones in our group who might have heard a Chicago song here and there in passing, thoroughly enjoyed it. If they come back...we’ll be back also! Great show.
As a 64 year old American musician/composer/arranger/songwriter who grew up LOVING Chicago and adoring their music, insofar as recreating the original music is concerned, YOU ALL are the very best tribute band of any kind I have ever heard. And as a former Brass player I KNOW the difficulty of rendering such exact reproductions of Chicago's very polished instrumentals and vocals. You all even SOUND like Americans singing-there's very little discernible nonAmerican accent in your English language vocals. During your interviews before last year's concert in New York City you were asked what it was like bringing this quintessentially American music to our country and performing for Americans…and I can only say THANK YOU for doing such justice to it. The style, execution, and musicianship are all spot-on (exact and authentic), and I can tell you love this music as much as if you had grown up here in America and heard our jazz and rock as part of the culture here yourselves. To hear such spirit and fine musicianship from you all fills our hearts with love and joy, and I send you my thanks for the effort you must have spent in order to make that happen. If it were in my power to make you all 'honorary' Americans, I would. I can only think that Jimmy Pankow, Danny Seraphine, Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, Walter Parazaider, Peter Cetera, and the late Terry Kath would all be so very pleased-and maybe also a little scared too(!), because your renditions of their recordings are so very faithful to their originals. Your performances 'cook' with the same energy and vitality, and that is no small achievement. Thank you, thank you, thank you all.
I'm just a 64 year old music lover and so glad I found this band. I'm sure they never get tired of hearing how great they are!
Good sir, thank you for expressing that in a way I could never have..
The symbolism here is profound! The Dialog is sung between Serge in Kyiv and Vasily in Moscow. As I write this, armies assemble on the border between their two countries. The song was a call for peace and unity written by Robert Lamm of Chicago as the U.S. was embroiled in the Vietnam War. I join with Chicago, Leonid, and Friends calling out, "We can make it better; we can change the world now; we can save the children; we can make it happen. Yeah!"
Well said. AMEN!
👍🎯 Great comment. This band shows us that people are the same no matter the country. I love their talent, attitudes, dedication, hard work, and just imagine what hoops they probably have to jump through to come to the US, especially now in may 2022. God bless Leonid and Friends, appreciate and love you all.💗
@@denisefarmer366 Your comment is spot ON❣👍👍💖🤘
I saw them toda in concert. They were fabulous. And they spoke about the war and how they have family embroiled in the conflict. Their music is to heal and bring all people together. When they played this song it brought me to tears. Written during Vietnam but even more relevant today.
🙏🌍🕊🌎🌿🌏✌😥
Please stop this insane war!
Make it happen!

Can we talk about how impressive this drummer is...my God, he never leaves the pocket...
I was thinking the same thing. Brother’s got groove
Igor is a machine. As a life long drummer I will say the man is impressive.
He literally 'sits' like a rock in the pocket!
Just fantastic!
OH YEAH Igor is a BEAST... One solid drummer!!!
First.... Kudos to Chicago. Their music back from the early 70's still sounding fantastic in 2020. Then... Hats off to one of the best cover bands I've ever heard. They keep Chicago's music fresh and alive. You can tell they love Chicago's music as much as we do. Leonid has done a fantastic job of not only finding musicians talented enough to pull this off and keep rocking the world, but bringing it to the rest of us. I felt as giddy as when I was a teenager hearing this for the first time.
Chicago had the genius to meld all these styles together and compose these brilliant tunes but Leonid and friends play them better.
Cover Band...Even Chicago say they're better than them!
I, too, feel as giddy as when I was a teenager, and that was when I bought all the Chicago albums in the 70's when I was in high school and college, went to a few concerts at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. And then L &F came into my life in 2019, went to their concert in Jim Thorpe, PA, and "I am Alive Again"!
Greg, уменя такие же чувства, несмотря на то, что я был когда то русским. По моему у них звучит немного круче чем оригинал. Или?
EXACTLY!😎
I just wish these artists knew how much joy they have brought to hundreds of millions of people, by giving us live performances of some of the greatest songs ever made. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You've made the world a better place, something few have been able to do! I know how hard it is to rehearse something until you get it down perfect; hours on end, sometimes it seems like it will never come out ... just... right. But you've managed to work through it until you have it perfect, and millions of us really appreciate what you have achieved. You are now immortal, just as Chicago and EWF are. Keep up the wonderful music, it's what makes the world a better place!
hopefully I think they may see all the comments ☺️
my dad loved them and so do I (:
Darn right🥰they’re incredible and better r wry day🔥💕🔥💕saw them last month n they rocked this song n all the other’s ❤❤❤
Very well said! The happiness, joy and appreciation for their hard work pours out from us all. What a talented enthusiastic group
YOU GUYS ARE TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!!
you skippy are at best,naive
@Antoniberico - Ok, CHIPPER, or is it CHAMP? Obviously you have some kind of issue with Leonid and Friends. They do excellent covers of CHICAGO songs, from what I have heard from them. What am I missing here that makes me so naive?
Don't even bother to give him the time of day Lawrence he ain't worth it. Just some troll wanker getting his cookies off by trying to get reactions out of people.
@David Cantwell Thanks. This @Antonberico dude must be some kind of troll to make a comment on something like an excellent cover as this is. Some people I suppose have such a miserable life that this pleases them in some way.
@INCOMUDRO JJPG IV- I stand corrected.
I am 62 years old and I absolutely loved Chicago back in the 70's. I played drums back then and when I heard you guys it just brought back all those old great memories. My God you guys are excellent, beyond excellent. America can truly love and appreciate your music. I know I do, absolutely. Thank you. Can't wait to see you in concert.
It was the winter of 1972 and my parents were driving me to my grade school Christmas play when this song came on the radio. I fell in love with it then and now nearly 50 years later I am reliving that memory thanks to this exceptional performance.
Bought this on cassette because of Saturday in the Park. I only had a little (one speaker) portable cassette recorder and played it everyday after school. It wasn't until a few years later after I saved enough money from my paper route and my first job at Arby's when I was 15 that I bought my first stereo. This became my favorite Chicago song the first time I ever heard it.
@@frankmarsh1159
Same here Frank !!
My fav too, first time I heard it ‼️
Just the thought of hearing this on the radio again...
I fell in love with Chicago in the 70’s in Cuba, listening at closed doors because American music wears prohibited. I bet they would die if thy listen now to Russians playing Chicago with and absolutely perfect performance and accent. Great band
This song is apropos today. I got my driver's license in '72 ... Man, did I crank this on my cars radio ('65 Plymouth Fury II!!) Sounds better via today's electronics!
Sergey just burns on guitar, love it.
Yeah he sure rips it up!
He's fab!
Another incredible track. You guys are doing more for Russian/American relations than all of the self-serving politicians put together.
Indeed! :)
You are amazing. Love every moment of your life.
Coming from Independence, Mo. USA
Truer words never spoken.
Put it this way, it's the 5th vid of them I watched, and gave it a thumbs up.....before I watched it!!!!!
politicians only serve their interests, war pays more than peace
My God, the horn section sounds EXACTLY like Chicago. Well, all the instruments do. What an incredible cover band. Thanks guys!
They are fantastic in every song and attention to details! Vocals are even better live ❤saw them two nights ago and I will never forget their awesomeness 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@lindabergman3127 I'd love to see them live. I'm jealous!!
Fantastic by everybody. Another classic. Vasily and Serge just killing it with their vocals.
Sounds better every time I've listened to them n they were fabulous the first time n Serge is a hunk💓
Love his voice too👏👏👏👏👏👏
I worked the live sound for Chicago a total of four times in the very beginning of their impressive run. I think Bob Lamm would be very proud of this cover. AND, as always, Igor was a BEAST!
The beauty brought tears to my eyes.
Qué linda dama. Es que sus videos musicales están bien trabajados. (How cute lady. Because his music videos are well worked.)
First I smiled, then as you said, it reduced me to tears.
You are referring, of course to Ksenia. Music ain't bad, either! :)
Yes! Tears are the response brought on by pure happiness. I play these vids first thing every day and the first thing that happens is tears, always. Makes all the difference in how my day is going to go.
@@bookendsound1
Amazing. I have the same reaction, happy tears. This band is so inredible and when you add it all up, these folks are exactly what we need right now. The world is a mess and Leonid and Friends is spreading a soothing balm of love over our hearts. ❤️
I wonder how long it takes them to get this good - from the time they choose the song to the time they do the recorded performance. They make it look so effortless, but they are matching the original Chicago recordings so exactly. I'm totally bumfuzzled. How does Igor the drummer match every lick that Danny Seraphine laid down so easily - and he's not even looking at music. And how does the lead guitarist match Terry Kath's insane guitar solos (I was blown away by how well he played 25 or 6 to 4)? They are incredible musicians and singers. Just, wow!!
saw them live the best Chicago band ever....replicates the original band amazing!!
My musings exactly. Saw L&F in July of 2019 in Jim Thorpe, PA, they were great. My questions are just like yours. I guess those are "Questions 67 and 68". Peace! :)
Each of them is an established musician in his/her own right, some of them having won prices in international (jazz)festivals. They are amongst the best out there, though barely known in the West.
Yep, lead guitarist is Terry Kath caliber.....Igor on drums is effortlessly masterful, and Leonid can lay down the bottom on his bass quite nicely
too.....the whole group is outstanding and you can see and feel the joy they have for this music
I imagine it takes may hours of painstaking repetition and attention to detail. Chapeau. Absoultely fantastic!
I’ve seen Chicago 6 times ., twice in the 70s with Terri Kath...! This cover band deserves all the accolades and praise that they are getting .! Excellent musicians and dedicated to perfection ..! Honestly., some of their stuff sounds better than the latest Chicago stuff
Saw Chicago 5 times and next October I’m going to see this amazing group in Cleveland
✌️
Anything in the Studio without drugs and healthier.
Yep.
I get the chills just listening to this!! This is THE perfect example of music transcending cultural and nationalistic differences. The boys from DePaul would never have predicted the impact they would have so long into the future... and forever.IMO. This music is timeless. When we learn just how interconnected we all are , regardless of race and/or faith, We will make it happen!
CHILLS ALSO / BRUH !!
Get a sweater
@@Frankincensedjb123 I like Cardigans, or possibly a rugged pullover? I loved Frank Zappa!
This song blew me away 50 years ago - and now it does it again in this incredible contemporary performance from some of the most competent and well playing musicians I know.
Same here, always on of my favorites by Chicago. It's great that L&F covered the song, bringing it back to life for younger people to hear. Too great to just sit in the archives. L&F really did it justice!
This is one of my favorite songs of Chicago and Leonid and Friends does it proud! I lived in Florida and was 18 years old when "Dialogue" was released and unfortunately I had the mindset of Serge's part, that is like.... no problems here. There is nothing new under the sun, now its middle of 2022 and this song is still pertinent. Thanks to Leonid and Friends for keeping these lyrics popular.
From Canada … totally awesome cover of one of my favourite Chicago songs of the 70’s. I first heard this in 1974 when I was 14 and I feel like I played this on my turntable a thousand times (perhaps wore out the grooves). THANK YOU! ❤️👍
This amazing band need to go viral on everyone's social media. Their resurrection of Chicago's musical genius is the joy the world needs now in the depressive state we're coping with as the tumultuous year 2020 marches on.
Knocked it out of the ball park. Brought tears of joy to my eyes. It just gets better and better. You guys bring back to life the spirit of the era. You sing and play like you really believe it, and that comes through so powerfully, it's irresistible. So much cohesion. You truly 'make it happen'. Can't get enough.
Out of this world talent. The mixing is uber-professional.
IGOR never cease to amaze me.
He is so smooth it's deceptive how really really good he is.
Dude's a beast. Like that OSU gear he's rockin'.
Amaze is right. . . .wow . . .
I had a chance to chat with him.In that short conversation I told him I admired his technique and sound. he humbly looked down at the floor ans said "I really try". So modest and lovely a guy!
Read my ORIGINAL comment at the top of the page from 11/12/2019.
The basswork by Leonid is pretty stellar...
He is absolutely kicking it! Walking that bass all over the place!
As a bass player i dont think we realise what a brilliant bass player Leonid is.
@@leebrand7504 I certainly do!
YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN - YEAH.
You’re making it happen, east meets west and spreading the good vibes of peace and the epic harmony of Chicago to a wider audience. Makes me smile I’m a happy man. ✌️
As a musician for many decades who has burned up many an eight track, cassette and LP studying and memorizing every nuance of Chicago’s music, it cannot be overstated how beautifully this group of people have captured and cloned this band especially the Kath and Seraphine parts to say nothing of the Cetera vocals. Simply an amazing stroll down memory lane.
I can't help but be taken back in time when "everything was fine" ......great, great music...special
Your dedication to doing Chicago proud is truly apparent . Fantastic performance. We too wish for peace.
Blown away by this incredible band. Just when I hear an incredible lick by an instrument, another instrument sounds off. Not to mention the fantastic vocals. Children, behold a real rock band.
You should see them in person. I have twice and am hoping for a third time this year.
I was fortunate to meet a few of them two years ago.
Drummer, new guitarist, manager and Ksenia. Plus a couple other people including new saxophone 🎷 guy.
You are breaking my stereotypes of Russians (I'm in Minneapolis, MN, USA). So much great energy and phenomenal musicianship. I listened to these songs over and over when I was young. I had every note memorized. So great to hear them re-done by you.
I first listened to Leonid & Friends on my phone a week ago while out for a walk. The first song I heard was "25 Or 6 To 4." Man, was I blown away! I remembered listening to Chicago while in high school in the 80's. Fantastic group! Then to hear Leonid & his Professional Friends cover the Chicago tunes like a blanket, well, as Wayne and Garth would say "We're not worthy, we're not worthy!" I hope when this pandemic is over they will come back to the U.S. and treat us all to more great music. As a fellow trumpet player, it is so impressive to hear the professional quality of their trumpets, other instruments and vocalists. Throw in that they're singing the songs in English and this is off the charts. I know I certainly could NOT sing in Russian. As many others have said in this Comments section, Leonid and Friends are doing more to further U.S.-Russian relations than an army of politicians ever could. Musical exchanges, not military and political ones, is what our two countries need a lot more of. Best wishes to Leonid & Friends and all of the good people of Russia.
Sincerely,
Ray

They just added dates in October for Modesto and Sacramento. I’m in Stockton. 😊
Almost better than the original, the musicianship is stellar.
And English is not their first language!
My kudos. I can understand your lyrics sung easier than the original. Which of course increases the fun of listening.

It is better. These guys are tighter than the original Chicago. And i was a hugh fan back in the early 70's
Duh666, omit almost!
Good job, vocals and playing were on point.
When I listen to Vasily sing, I get a little bit of Terry Kath meets Joe Cocker but in a good way. Serge's vocals sound like Peter Cetera
I'd say they've improved the song for the current times 💪😎😁😊😎
Vasily Kathcocker...
These singers blend great together and agree vocals are amazing!
A little higher than cetera
Cloning is illegal.
The bass player is rarely mentioned, but he’s a beast on that bass guitar, and it’s so evident that he loves what he’s playing! I love his smile!
The bass player is Leonid ;)
Leonid always smiles when he plays. He likes what he is doing. And creating. He is quite the guy.
I've been a big Chicago fan since "68 when I first heard Introduction and was hooked immediately. You guys (and beautiful young lady) are just amazing. Dialogue is one of my favorites and you absolutely nailed it. Thanks for all of your hard work.
I don't know if everyone knows how difficult it must have been for Leonid to chart this music and break it down in a way that makes it possible to play together as a band and sound so spot on. It's incredible. I was a fan after I saw 25 or 6 to 4 the first time. If they come close I'll be in the audience.
Don’t know if it’s his Bachelor of Arts or maybe it’s his steady high, but Sergey channels Terry Kath and rocks that guitar and wah-wah! DIG IT!
These guys always leave me shaking my head in disbelief. They are SO good. I saw them in Beverly Hills a few weeks ago and they were so technically perfect. They were also extremely engaging and entertaining. That was one of the best concerts I have ever seen and I saw all of the biggest groups from the early 70s to the 80s. I hope to see them again next year. Thank you, Leonid and Friends!
Your Band blows my mind. It's such a unique story, along with some of the best musicians gathered in one place. Chicago is a tough act to follow. You should be very proud of how you represent your country and the great music you play. I saw Chicago in the 70's with Terry Kath. You bring that same excitement back to me now. You have got a special gift. Hope to see you post pandemic. Music IS the universal language!
You all have set the bar so high with previous covers that it seems impossible you can keep topping yourself......and yet, you do, every single time!! This is stunning. Can't wait to see it live later this month!
I am so Impressed, I am a 63 year old Chicago fan, enjoy your Videos!

"After changes upon changes, we are more or less the same"
Such a relevant tune(s) and so well done!
1972 all over again!
Bravo!!
This is beyond good. Great drummer- Go Buckeyes!!
Superb. I remember when Chicago first released this song. It was a song of hope, a song of encouragement. Somehow we failed to live up to it. Maybe the new "young ones" will.
I agree wholeheartedly! BUT - we need to provide them some guidance gleaned from our experience.
We’re doing our best - some of us “young ones” at least. Though the issues are slightly different than those faced during the boomer’s youth, the same distress and passion is ever present. I think people in my generation (Z) just need to prioritize value over instant gratification, among other things, and think deeper and formulate their own opinion not solely based on trashy rappers and elderly politicians. Our generation needs inspiration like this classic, I wish everyone my age could just see how much more meaningful (most) classic rock is compared to the garbage that is mass produced today.
My wife and I saw this band last Saturday November 5 at Ameristar Casino Kansas City!!! What a fantastic time!!! If you get the chance to see them live don’t miss it!!! The band had some changes in their lineup but didn’t miss a beat!!! Horn section was outstanding!!! Have seen Chicago several time in my life and this band is spot on!!!!
Robert, that was a Friday. 😁
I was there, too.
I met Igor (drums), Konstantin (guitar) and Ksenia the next morning in the hotel lobby. Plus a few others.
Leonid showing off some bass skills in this song! Bravo!
He is great, but keeps a low profile, even though he is the leader and founder of the group. THANKS Leonid !
Given that Cetera was one of the best bass players in rock music in the 70s, covering his parts with style and perfection is no small feat.
Peter Cetera used a Pbass with a pick, slightly different tone.
Chills & Goosebumps all over.
Incredible.
What a tribute to a great band.....! For a great moment it felt that I was listening to the great Chicago Band itself...... excellent job.....love it....!
Holy crap! That was over-the-top fantastic. Every instrument, every voice. You guys are amazing!
As a musician and huge Chicago fan, I can say I would much rather come to see you folks than the current version of the 'real' Chicago. Stellar!!
Their music is getting me through a difficult time. I thank you all.
Absolutely stunning. You do every original more than justice. Congratulations one more time...
Leonid & Friends! wow! i had goosebumps!
I have no words to describe what I'm feeling. What this band has made to make us feel this way? it Is not the memories of past times, nor the memories of a great band (Chicago)...but L&F freshness, good vibes, charisma and, of course, their high interpretative quality... I'm near of tears at this moment, listen to this awesome tune... Thanks, Leonid and Friends...You make me feel alive (Leonid, Vlad... Happy Birthday!!!, Vladimir, Sergey, Serge, Vasilii, Igor, Andrei, Oleg, Maxim..and Ksenia)

I feel the same way. If you have the opportunity, go see them at a venue in your neighborhood, we we able to do so in July, 2019, it is well worth it! And we will do so again in July, 2020 in Jim Thorpe, PA. go for it! :)
I can't get over how good a time they seem to be having. Incredible talents and having fun doing it............amazing!
Brilliantly done. Thanks for this optimistic song. So relevant even in today's times! +plus it just rocks!

Hats off to the producer of the videos. This comes together seamlessly.
I've watched this 10 times now, still trying to find a flaw. Spotless. I've been a fan for two years now, and can say your work is amazing. See you in November!
One slight flaw I noticed: he sings "shapes of things to come" (2m41s) instead of "shape of things..." - but it's nitpicking really. Sorry to have brought it up and besmirch this brilliant rendition of my favourite CTA track.
@@droses1600 That's the only one I found as well!
The Chicago version ends with "...we can make it hap", and they ended with "...we can make it happen."
I REALLY LIKE THESE GUYS. THEY SOUND SO ORIGINAL!! HAVEN'T HEARD ANYONE WHO SOUNDS LIKE THE ORIGINAL BAND EXCEPT THESE GUYS. EVEN THE SOLOS ARE SO CLOSE!! GREAT JOB...
My all-time Chicago song. It's as meaningful around the world now, as it was when Robert Lamm composed it in 1972. You applied your Midas touch, Chicago hasn't done this song this well since Terry Kath passed. Looking forward to the 24th in Lebanon, Ohio.

i am only recently a fan of this group but i will be a true fan for the rest of my life.
Welcome to the crowd
My wife wonders what has happened to me.
WOW! This is PERFECTION! I was listening without looking at the screen and actually thought it was the original Carpenters version! Didn’t realize it was Leonid & Friends until I went to skip an ad! Truly outstanding musicianship and never thought anyone could come that close to Karen Carpenter!
Carpenters? This is a Chicago song. Are you just joking?
I was expecting this since I discovered this band. This seals the deal, you're the best Chicago tribute band and you're actually better than the current lineup.
All great musicians and they continue to amaze us/ great singers and wonderful songs
Totaly Totaly AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!KILLER👍👍👍
What's that exactly saying? I heard their "current" lineup isn't very impressive.
@@Coupydog They aren't, they lack the magic of Danny Seraphine, Peter Cetera and the late Terry Kath.
The current Chicago lineup is down to Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane, and James Pankow. The rest are all sidemen. They are professional, but they lack the spark of the original. Which brings us to Leonid and Friends......they are fine musicians, too, AND they have that spark, that love of the music that made it special when we first heard it. It's not a competition, you can and should see and hear both.
This needs to be America's anthem once again. This song is as powerful today as it was when it was first recorded by Chicago. THANK YOU Leonid & Friends for performing this song.
Favorite Robert Lamm song. It can be about the world today as it was back in the early 70s. You guys keep up the great work keeping real Chicago music alive
I am so totally impressed by this band! I cannot get enough of them, and that is why I'm proud to be a supporter of them.
WOW, where have I been to miss this group. 20 plus years in the live music nightclub business. If I ever get back into the business, these guys will be on the stage.
Every time I listen to this song, the line "Don't it make you angry the way war is dragging on?" particularly resonates with me. Knowing that Serge is from Ukraine and Vasily is from Russia adds a layer to what seems like a tragic prophecy within the lyrics. Yet, I hold onto the belief that "We can make it better".
Yes I’m sick of the war mongers funding these horrible wars😭
Lucky enough to meet the whole band all very humble and warm...I love them! The musicianship is off the charts!
I don't know what else to say.
I am not a BIG FAN of Chicago, but I can appreciate good music especially from this era.
As much as I love the other covers they have done, this may very well be their best one. It shows their top notch skills in 3 areas:
- Instrumentation: Just another expertly arranged song
- Technical ability: The guys are playing superb and showing off their technical skills here.
- Vocals / Singing: I have heard some good singing on other songs, but her it actually carries the song. There is alot of stuff here that requires talented voices. Especially the end where they go accapella. You can really hear their singing ability. What was so cool is seeing everyone SO invovled with the singing. YOu could see and FEEL everyone was in it.
Just FANTASTIC. I am typing this now.... singing "WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Knocked another one out of the park - from a guy whose bar band did several Chicago tunes back in the late sixties/early seventies. We weren't quite up to your level though. Amazingly good job!
- dave from Upstate New York,
Such An Amazing Song From Robert Lamm! A Perfect Description Of All The TENSION, SERIOUS PROBLEMS, PAINFUL CHANGES, & RESTRUCTURING Of Society Of The Late 1960s & Early 1970s....It Was SOMETHING ELSE!....You Really Had To Have Been There! But This Cover Takes Chicagos' Original To An Even HIGHER Level!! These Amazing Musicians & The Vocals Recreate The Emotion Of Terry Kath & Peter Cetera To Perfection! Like Others Have Said - Absolutely STELLAR!!!⭐🌃💫🌟🎇
The level of talent here is mind blowing.
Yes it is❤
I listened to Chicago when I was in high school. On a 8-track. Later had all their albums. Now CD's. Love watching this band pay. Awesome group. Thank you for the music.
one of my favorites. had a rough day , only to come home and discover this . well done . thanks
The only thing that could make this better would be the drummer wearing a MEEEECHIGAN shirt. GO BLUE!! Love you Igor.
Another stunning performance. Yes, Leonid & Friends, you can make it happen! 👏👏
You guys are AWESOME! I CAN'T get enough of your music. I hope you never lose your enthusiasm.
After watching it a half a dozen times I have to comment again. You guys nailed it, absolutely rocked it and smoked it. Chills and some tears. Absolutely superb. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Chicago was my favorite band growing up (still is), this is my favorite song. Wow, you guys crushed it! What a talented group of musicians and the vocals were superb! And the horns...bravo! Thank you for this excellent cover!!!
my all time favourite Chicago song. Thank you guys for performing it in your outstanding and authentic way. When I first heard you, I quickly realized that you easily topped Chicago in the present, but by now I have to admit, that you even top them in the 70ies (even though their great achievement was also to write these terrific songs!). Now you just have to start creating your own songs in this genre (and they might even have Russian lyrics!).
I close my eyes and you play exactly the band you wanted to be...😮🎉WOW! I am now a huge fan...All should do Mohegan Sun in Ct...or Foxwood...Thank Y'all for what you do...✌️👏🫶JOY
In December 1972, at age 10, I purchased my first music, a "45" of Chicago's Dialogue (Part I & II). Thank you for finally covering this tune, and doing it so well!
This is so true to form, it's reduced me to tears thinking about Terry Kath. Rest in peace my friend. Thanks for the music.
You guys are definitely making it happen !!
This is one of the best bands by far taking songs done by the greatest bands in the world, Chicago and making their music available to everyone in a way that you want to come back and hear so much more from them, The drummer is flawless the horns are spot on and the guitar player has talent beyond his years I love Leoniad and Friends and watch all their music videos this is total happiness.
I am downright in love with your voices.... Sergei (does anybody care what time it is etc. ) ...Vasily...Serge...(Dialogue etc.) !!!!! More than impressive...
I just discovered this fantastic group. - and I can't wait to catch their act this summer. I had forgotten how complex and beautiful the music of Chicago was. - It's really wonderful the way these guys have brought it back to life.
Nice! Do “Lowdown” next please! That ought to complete their greatest hits....
They could totally nail down the brass section on this song.
Yes, Lowdown would be great so I can share it to a friend of mine.
Been crossing my fingers for Lowdown!!
Agree! This song and Lowdown are my 2 Chicago favorites. Can't wait.
AMEN
I absolutely love Chicago in the early years, Terry Kath was so talented and who knows where he would have gone if he hadn't died. That particular group of musicians had such talent and Leonid & Friends is bringing the sound of the original band to a whole new audience. This song is as relevant now, if not more, as it was 50 years ago. I wonder if Robert Lamm, Peter Cetera, or any other band members have heard the band. It certainly would be interesting to hear their opinions.
Thank you so much Leonid for the music! Praying for the safety of everyone!
Terry Kath was my favorite guitarist 🎸as I was growing up.
Awesome cover of one of my favorite Chicago tunes!!!
These Genius Musicans have brought back such a love and appreciation for the great songs/music of one of the best Bands ever Chicago.Superb Covers! All of them!Congratulations and Best Wishes!I'm a Fan!🙏👏👍👋✌👊✊🤜🤛
This is a great groove Leonid & band members. You all sound more like Chicago than Chicago does. Thanks for cutting this song. One of my favorites!
Blown away. These guys are stellar!
Proof of Terry Kath’s GENIUS
In what way?
fretbuzz59 note by note reproduction duh
Love you guys keeping Chicago Transit Authority alive!!!!
@@RMGCBG Wouldn't that be indicative of the "genius" of the guy doing the reproduction?
Look, I like Terry too, but "genius" is WAY overused.
@@fretbuzz59 Except in Terry's case it isn't hyperbole at all.
I am new to this channel. This is one of my favorite Chicago songs, and this is an excellent cover (probably the best I have heard). As a musician of over 45 years and a bass player that led my bands over the years, I congratulate Leonid on his work to bring this talent together. Of the original Chicago band, by favorite musician was Terry Kath (RIP). His vocals brought the soul in to the music which was sadly missing when he passed. I was also a fan of Peter Cetera as a vocalist and bass player. They were the combination and contrast that couldn't be replicated in the Chicago band as it exists today.
Having said that, this rendition really captures that combination very well. I was very impressed with the singer that sang the Terry Kath part. I can't imagine how hard it would be to sing that part in English for a non-English speaking singer. Well done.
I also have to comment on the drummer. I have played with many drummers over the years and so many want to bang the drums like John Bonham. That worked for one drummer, his name was John and he is no longer with us. The remaining 10% are very detail oriented and listen for the correct sound that blends with the rest of the instruments, primarily the bass. Igor captures the style of drumming that I would really enjoy working with.
The guitar player is quite good. I have one very minor criticism with the selection of guitars. Terry Kath played a Strat for nearly all the songs. In this case he played a tele-deluxe (modified with a Gibson humbuckers neck pickup) and those guitars might be hard to find around Moscow.
Very great addition of Ksenia Buzina (I have seen her name spelled Ksenona) on part II . She is always a welcome addition in my humble opinion.
Cheers!
