This is the first track of the first side of the first album Chicago produced. Also the first album I ever purchased. Yeah, L&F killed this number in every way. And they did so on releasing this on 1/31/21, what would have been Terry Kath's 75th birthday.

Its a rarity in pop music especially now. The level of musicianship reminds me in a way of the historic Group of studio musicians in the states called the wrecking crew. They could play anything right to the note. Chicago arrangements are complex. looks like the've nailed it and also look like their having fun while doing it . !

@@prestige2000rider Definitely! The Wrecking Crew is legendary. I was fortunate to see this band twice in 2019. They are superb musicians and even more impressive, simply humble, kind people that you would love to have as neighbors. No 'egos'. They truly appreciate their audience.

Right! I started playing along with Loughnane’s parts in 7th grade, and I always wondered if the record player was on the wrong speed, because besides the complexity, they always seemed to be in strange keys. Pankow especially always talks about practice, practice, practice which is where that tightness comes from. These guys are so fantastic that I’d love the Chicago guys to take them on tour, as they’ve done with EW&F, etc. They’ve earned it!

In 1969 I was a high school freshman, a trombone player and very much into music. I played in band, jazz ensemble, brass chorale, stage band, any group arrangements, any type of music…I just loved to play. One day I am walking past a radio station and a guy comes out with black album and says “hey kid, want this”. Both loving music and being broke, I immediately said yes. I had never heard of the group, which sounded like a public service department, but as soon as I got home I dropped it on my fold out record player, set the needle on song one and, OH MY DEAR GOD, this song came out of the built in speakers! It was unbelievable, I LOVED these guys! Fast forward 53 years and here I am blessed to find this remarkable group with an incredible love and respect for Chicago as well as one of the greatest eras of American music. Spasibo, my friends!

As one of many who watch everything I can from Leonid and Friends, I am in awe of these musicians. This is another seemingly endless example of their incomparable talent. Emphasized by this complex track, one aspect of this band that deserves even more recognition than the stellar musicianship is the flawless production of these songs. Imagine joining a band and trying to record this song (or virtually any other Chicago song). The amazing talent within the band is mind-boggling. However, Leonid’s Production of this song and all other songs in their whole portfolio can only be described with words like epic, incomparable, and perfection. Just when I think I’ve heard this band perform with absolute perfection with previous covers they have totally nailed this beyond anything that I’ve heard before. Where to start? Covering the Terry Kath solo is a huge challenge and it was flawlessly played! The drummer was amazing as usual and the three horn players didn’t miss a note. As soon as I finish with this comment I will listen again and again and again! I pray to all the music gods that Leonid and friends will be able to tour in the next year and spread the joy of their music. They are a remarkable group with incredible talent. God bless them.

I'm a trombonist also, and was totally blown away by Maxim's beautiful tone. This is how a trombone should sound! James Pankow's trombone parts in Chicago appropriately have many smeared or glided notes, and this is a classic use of this valveless slide instrument! The tongue is almost half of the instrument, as it must function as the "valve".

Finally ! I've waited soo long for you doing especially this one ! This was - in 1969, first Chicago-Album, first song - the hottest self-introduction of a band in the world of Rock ever ! Thank you Leonid - and friends. :-) I hope you will continue for many more years, and I wish you'd come to Germany one day. Stay healthy and safe, greets from Cologne !

Outstanding, as usual. Special kudos to the lead guitarist (in the Kath t-shirt) and the drummer. Those guy are killing it. Actually, everybody is. Thanks.

I've commented before...as musicians and vocalists you are on a higher level than most. And again your recording tech staff have mastered their art. Of course the equipment plays a huge part, but it's the individuals that twist the dials and move the faders that makes it all come together. Thank you all. Peace...

I have to admit...their studio recordings are always amazing. Unfortunately, they're so good that their live sound is almost disappointing... but I guess that's just the nature of the beast...

Geeze...incredible, as always! The horns...the drums...the guitars...the keyboards...the vocals...spot on! Terry would be proud. Thank you.

When I saw them in San Jose in October of 2022, they opened with this song! What a great show! If you get a chance to see these guys live - do it!

Great band. Quality players playing great tunes. The drummer is so versatile and competant, a perfect backbone to it all. Grew up listening to Chicago I, II, III etc... Just love the horns in all this. Well done Leonid & Friends.
