Wow, wow, wow. What a band. Saw the original play this in 1972 and never thought I'd hear it played as well again (and maybe this version is just that little bit better). The 'new' guitar player brings back memories of seeing Terry Kath play this. These Guys (and Gal) are fantastic. Let's hope some dopey touring agency has the foresight to see the value in L&F and bring them to Australia.
It only makes you appreciate the body of work that Chicago was able to formulate through the years. A very gifted group of people. I'm amazed at how well they were instrumentally and their vocals were fantastic. Leonid and Friends do a tremendous job duplicating Chicago in its prime.
Damn!!! All I can say is Damn!!! I am a total snob. No one can do Chicago properly. And don't even try to imitate Kath!!!! Impossible. I admit I finally stand corrected. WOW!!! Everyone performed exquisitely. Unbelievable. Come to Chicago or Milwaukee and I will be your biggest fan!!!!! Thank you for this!
@@polyscroll I just hit the subscribe key. Haven't yet listened to studio materials- and now really looking forward. That Leonid and Friends can do such a bad-azz Chicago (Transit Authority?) is enough, the vocals, the brass and especially Kath's work, such as he was Jimi Hendrix's favorite (along with Dick Dale) is a great endorsement. Thank you. If you put any links by my name, I will be listening with a grateful intensity. Rock on! ~RaVen~
Best copycat band I have ever heard. But you gotta give Chicago credit for the musical genius and perseverance of having written and produced that incredible library of songs to begin with. One can’t argue with selling 150,000,000 records over 55 years.
Indeed... But at least there are performers that can do this, with impeccable replication, even after 50+ years. That's what makes L&F so great. Rock on, guys (and Ksenia)! :)
I have seen Chicago live about 65 times since 1991 and there have been a handful, where a replacement had to perform. How many people tour with Leonid? When they are on the road in 2023, the line-up looks it it has a number of different faces. How many people are considered “members”? Great job!
I have watched every RUclips video they put out, and they are excellent! Been a Chicago band fan for many years and they do Chicago proud. Some of the best musicians I've seen.
I saw Chicago in 1973 and 1976 (original lineup) and I've seen Leonid & Friends 6 times and they never cease to disappoint! Great bunch of talented musicians they are!
Very high energy! Everybody was having a blast (pun intended). All the band kids in my school loved Chicago. Your lead singer was phenomenal. Wonderful performance.
I came across this band about a month ago and have to say I listen to them at least once a day, they are so talented . I love the arrangements and energy they bring to these classic songs. Keep up the Great work Love love love you guys ❤
This was a fantastic cover of that song, my hat's off to these guy's and gal. It's great to see that the old Norwalk theater is still being used. I saw many a movie at that location as a young child.
This is how you tell the real musicians and singers from the ones who need studio help to create their sound. You guys have amazing talent. Maybe it could be used to settle the political differences between countries.
@@JK-g62 yeah... They do...I agree but there's just something nastalgic about hearing the live on stage performance... it's like fine wine after it's aged...it's like records vs cd's...I would take the record album over cd's
It’s 4:30 am, cold, and I was down. I fired up the ole PC, and Leonid & Friends thumbnails appeared. Naturally, one must click on it, and now after a dose of ‘’25 or 6 to 4,’’ I am powered up and ready to work. Thank you, Leonid and Friends. What gave me that extra lift was to see the same drummer I saw way back when I saw you all the first time, he is an awesome yet subtle power. It is also uplifting to witness the love and respect that exists between everyone on stage, it is one reason why the sound is super tight, yet funk’in lose in both the recordings from the studio and live space. Hats Off to your passion and artistry. Keep it up, you will save the world. Thanks again.
I've seen them live 4 times: Charleston, San Juan Capistrano, Oro Valley, and most recently at the Birchmere in Alexandria. I'm planning on attending more shows later this year!!!
Hard to believe they could do this as good as the first rendition about 4 years ago with different musicians but they did it. Imagine an American band trying to perform songs in Russian - and doing it to perfection.
@jeffreyrigby2387 Nothing that immediately cones to mind but I'm sure if you Google "Russian rock groups of the 1960's and 1970s," you might find some worthy examples.
Just a positive comment here... one of the best recordings of a live concert! So many times the performers aren't clear, and people are walking in and out in front of the camera person. Not so in this one, so appreciative of this.🎉
Love these guys keeping Chicago music alive..............I remember when i was younger there were so many musical influencers, like Beatles, Stones......etc................... but only Chicago caught my ear and my musical heart..... these guys keep my heart beating....god bless Chicago .... god bless Leonid & Friends
Terry Kath never got much credit for his guitar master-pieces! He was one of the finest American guitarists who created the rock-jazz genre. Shame he died so young and unfortunately after his death Chicago began shifting towards slower Peter Cetera ballads. This Russian/Ukranian band is just awesome!
Wow. Great voice on a bastard of a song to sing. Songs like this make vocalists cower in fear. Very well done. I've taught voice for over 30 years and this is an exceptional version of the song. Major props too for your lead guitarist doing his best to duplicate Terry Kath's incredible picking. Admirable job...one that very few take on...for good reason. He's obviously listened to the master and paid rightful homage to the solo and the man.
I used to play Chicago in my apartment when I attended college in the early 70's all the time! These guys are as good as the original, plus they have Ksenia Buzina to expand their repertoire. Great great group!

100%, Brisbane would be a great place to start the tour
I love Leonid and Friends
Not possible to be better than original...til now! Awesome!
I agree! I've been listening to these guys and I might be ashamed to admit that they could be better than the original. STRONG!!!😮
Just keep on rockin! There is NO music of today's generation that even comes close to this. These guys are great.
Music is flawless and the vocals are superb! Thank you!
Excellent rendition of a major classic! I’m old enough to remember the original from way back then. Chicago would be proud of your performance!
Yes. I too grew up in the 70's and remember hearing it on my parents RCA console stereo.
One of my fav Chicago songs. Language of music is universal. These guys are fluent & they rock!! Love the horn work.
Definitely the best Chicago song and one of the top rock and roll songs ever
GOOD JOB !!!!!!
Ksenia is absolutely stunning. Almost makes it impossible to actually pay attention to the incredible music 😊
Mikhail is even more stunning 😋
incredible face
Peace and love through the common language of music. Keep it up!!!!
Great solo, I think Terry would appreciate you and the band, GREAT JOB !!!!!
Thank you for honoring what I consider one of the best songs of all time
I'm sure they are happy to have your endorsement.
This has got to be the best cover of this song I have ever seen.
Agreed. If you heard this come on and weren't watching it you might be fooled it wasn't Chicago performing live somewhere.
I agree, but Chicago / Terry Kath never once played the song as it was recorded. So there's no reference.
Sounds great!! I was a roadie for "Chicago Transit Authority" when they released this song! This was my favorite song of the night!
If only they could have kept this high energy vibe going.
