    Merry Christmas guys Lets go Mets

  • @Mgiusto
    @Mgiusto 7 дней назад +12

    The first time things changed was when Cohen bought The Mets, then he went crazy and threw money at Verlander and Scherzer trying to quick-fix, which blew up in his face. The second time things changed was when David Sterns was hired. He knows how to spend the kind of money Steve Cohen provides in smarter ways. Now this particular signing of Soto was all Steve Cohen, I'm sure Sterns wasn't all-in on spending this much, but was fine with taking a back seat, letting Cohen go and get his player. Now David Sterns will take over from here and I trust him to build a world series capable roster from here on out.

It was great to have him play the 2024 season in the Bronx and it would've been nice to retain him. But it didn't happen. Congrats to the Mets. Next.
    The Yankees now have money to spend on getting the team back on track. I'm OK with not spending almost $800m on a 2-tool player. Yes, he is magnificent with those 2 tools but he's not worth that kind of money, especially when the team needs 1B, 3B, 2 OF and a couple of pitchers.

And the Mariners got better without him. Look at the Padres last year vs two years ago. Better without Soto. He is top offensive player who can't field and can't run the bases. Clowning in sports never ends. It just changes. Now clowning fot the Mets will be more like the clowning the Yankees always absorb. Championship expectations are exactly that Now the expectation is the W.S. Full stop. No more plucky, scrappy underdog good vibes. That’s all over. Making the playoffs is no longer a good season. A division title is no longer a good season. All of that is now the bare minimum. As a life long Yankee fan, I feel more relief than joy when they win they won their titles. That’s due to the expectation. If they won, they were supposed to. If the lost, lol they suck and can’t even win when they spend all of that $. As a Knicks and Giants fan, I also know the other end of the fan experience. For me I have enjoyed those teams success, when they have it, more than I ever have w/ the Yanks. Expectations drive it all. SBXLII is the greatest sporting fan moment of my life. Why? Because NYG pulled of a miracle. There’s no greater feeling in sports fandom for me than when my squad proves ‘em all wrong and beats the odds.
