  • Chris Wood's fantastic header lifted Nottingham Forest out of the Premier League relegation zone as they drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Saturday. While that was good news, plenty of fans were left questioning manager Nuno's starting XI as Forest started poorly before improving after the break with the introduction of Anthony Elanga.
We'll discuss that game in full and preview Tuesday night's visit of Fulham as Matt Davies is joined by Greg Mitchell, Michael Temple and Reds legend Garry Birtles, who will also discuss the passing of former teammate Larry Lloyd. #NFFC

We keep saying winnable games but we dont win, we keep losing or drawing, and with end of season fast approaching we may run out of games to get pts to stay up. Its only teams around us losing thats kept our heads just above relegation zone.

Good news for Forest re: Everton's prospective PSR hearing outcome...
As Everton recently announced a £89m loss for 2022/23, it's now possible to quantify Everton's latest PSR breach. And it's high!
I calculate that Everton's total losses for the three-year PSR cycle ending 30th June 2023 were £155.5million. Importantly, this means that Everton exceeded the permitted PSR loss limit by £50.5million. That's the critical figure which last week's PSR commission hearing would've considered. (My calculations are shown below.)
To compare, £50.5m is larger than Forest's PSR loss excess for the exact same PSR period, which was £34.5m. And £50.5m is much larger than the loss excess Everton had for the previous PSR three-year period, which was £19.5m.
I would expect Everton to be deducted another 3 to 8 points as their sanction.
    __
    My calculations...
    Re: three-year PSR cycle ending 30th June 2023 (2022/23)
    Everton's total net loss figure:
2020/21: Loss £53m. (Source: PSR appeal hearing report.)
    2021/22: Loss £13.5m (124.5m - [58m+53m] )
2022/23: Loss £89m. (Source: announced by Everton on Sunday.)
    = Total: £155.5m
The loss threshold permitted by PSR rules is £105m.
The amount of Everton's latest PSR breach is therefore: £50.5m (155.5m-105m)

Sorry Matt, I disagree with you over Sangare. Would you tell us what he does better than Yates? His recovery? His tackles? His commitment? Nothing, absolutely nothing. He looks lost most of the time and has no impact on the games. A real waste of £35M imo.

I'd offer Chris Wood two contracts. One on a certain amount if we're in the Premier League and another if we go down on a lower level. I can't see many teams that are bigger than Forest go after him, so he might sign on to both offers. We need him and to re-sign him would save us forking out on another transfer fee.

I agree - I was dead keen on him joining last January, as I felt we needed someone with actual PL experience - which he had (50+ goals) - and though many had their doubts, he is proving himself to be an important squad Member - no less reliable than Awoniyi ! Wood is out of contract in 15 months - I'd offer him a new contract now for 27 months - but at lower wages - he won't get better anywhere else - he's not going to Saudi next summer at 33 !

Sangare cried when he left PSV, he didnt want to sign? I mean he never looks happy, always nervous, he got hammered at the ground on saturday and removed at half time, I dont see us having time for that right now and I think that may be the last we see of him this season, time for pressing football with domiguez and Reyna and I agree with Greg Id like to see the three of them going forward.

I'll be there tonight, but I just don't know what to expect - I've seen us lose 3-0 at home to Fulham - but I don't think we've beaten them for 10+ years, so maybe that will change tonight !? With Luton's next 3 games looking very difficult, it is an opportunity to pull away from them - and there is Everton's £90m loss - £30m more than Forest's ! - hopefully they might have another 2-3 points deducted.....or is that clutching at straws !? It IS in our own hands, but right now I still think it's a 30% chance we'll go down.

Signing a player form the Dutch league like Sangare is like signing a plater who performs well in th Championship, it's a gamble that often doesn't work out. Another similar and comparative factor is that if a player's still the Championship OR th Dutch league aged 26 then perhaps that's a player's level.

    • @rjw4762
      @rjw4762 2 месяца назад

Interesting comments. In a way it was wrong to call him a "Champions League" player just because he plays IN the CL for PSV....a bit like Celtic saying their squad is comprised of CL playersbecause they playin the CL each year....doesn't necesarily equate to top quality !

With sangare out of form we need a 6. So danillo or yates?? No. Danillo is out of form and better as an 8. Yates not enough quality. The answer is to play murillo as a 6. I see nothing to tell me he wouldnt be our best CDM. The man can tackle and play precision passes. Im not the first fan to suggest this.
