    Rackets make an incredibly big difference, actually. String and tension are more important, but so is the right racket. That doesn't necessarily mean an expensive one, but still.

    I agree but when i use specific rackets i feel more confident with it. I used to use the Z slash and the power you get with it is incredible but i had to change to another racket due to a sponsorship and it's just not the same.

    i wonder if gideon/sukamuljo can defeat these old pairs if they can fight them during this time (2011). The minions have a very impressive fast play.

    • @TheOneDumDum
      @TheOneDumDum 5 лет назад +3

      It would be really great to see... But keep in mind these 2 pairs has to fight off KKK/Tan, Ahmad/setiawan, etc. They have to play at this fast pace and great defense against many pairs before reaching every finals. Look at how much countering they do on defense. Both pairs are constantly looking to take back the offense. How many pairs do that these days? Kevin/gideon is a great team... But they wouldn't have 8 titles in one year had these legends were still playing

    • @langsz
      @langsz 5 лет назад +1

      ahmad/setiawan ? you mean ahsan ? and ahsan/setiawan weren't even a pair back then, it was still setiawan with kido.
      I do agree though, the competition back then was much tougher, no way kevin/gideon would got 8 titles in 1 year with that competition.

    • @langsz
      @langsz 5 лет назад

      in a windy condition I think they can, but in slow hall with slow shuttle I doubt they can beat cai/fu and lyd/jjs.

    • @TheOneDumDum
      @TheOneDumDum 5 лет назад +1

      @@langsz oops, I sometimes write Ahmad because of Ahmad/natsir lol. In 2009, they were already trying out Ahsan to replace kido. Not sure how many games they played together back then before kido calls it quit. But the 2009 Sudirman cup saw Ahsan/setiawan vs LYD/JJS.
      Anyways, the prime era of started during the times of the greats; Kim Dong moon, ha Tae Kwon, Halim hariento, sigit budiarto, Chandra wichaya. They all had amazing defense and attacks, the rallies would last forever. And this was during the 15points/2serves system. It then see a major shift when cai Yun and Fu haifeng came on the scene because of their relentless attacks. And then came Lee Yong Dae bringing back the style of counter attacks with amazing defense. Badminton saw another change when KKK/TBH came on the scene with his strong defense and creative placements. Great players started popping up; Zhang nan, KSH/YYS, boe/morgensen, etc. This long run of incredible badminton ended with Lee Yong Dae in my opinion. After him, a lot of teams started breaking up to train young/new players.
      The minions would join those guys in amazing matches but there's no way they could break records and dominate like they're doing now. But this is their time, I'm just hoping for more competition coming from the China, Malaysia and Denmark camp.

    • @langsz
      @langsz 5 лет назад

      @@TheOneDumDum That's the only tournament they played together before 2012, sudirman cup 2009. after that hendra back with kido again playing as an independent player.
      Weird that you put LYD before KKK/TBH, KKK/TBH was actually shock the badminton world first when they won the asian games in doha and won the all england in 2007. also I think hendra setiawan deserve a mention too, imo he's changing the mens double games forever with that "first 3-4 shot" that are so crucial now.
      Agree on the last part.

  • @Samou579
    @Samou579 12 лет назад

    i sell rackets, i can honestly tell you, a racket that is sold in the price of say 200 USD, is actually making 1000% profit. the original cost from factory of a usd 200 racket is about usd 5 (believe this), selling the main distributors for 50 bucks, main distributors selling the suppliers 100, suppliers selling to you for 200..
    so there isn't much difference between rackets, it's only a few bucks, the hype is what you people are buying. string and balance point is what matter most, not price
