I managed to get the pro series longshot today, and it is genuinely incredible, I do not say that lightly. First off, the prime is smooth, really smooth, mainly thanks to a roller inside the included foregrip, which is on a picitiny rail. Also, the included barrel has rifling in it! which was an awesome suprise and a welcome one. The barrel is metal, and also, yes, this does work like the orion blasters, Taurus where the barrel goes through the plunger tube, in terms of performance both half darts and full darts seem to be hitting pretty hard but the short darts slightly harder, this is purely based on me hearing them hitting the wooden gate at the back of my garden I don't have a chronograph unfortunately, a weird thing I noticed is the full length can only hold 15 darts not 20 which I found odd but hey ho, also the half dart adapter is compatible with talon magazines 😊😊.
did you know that all previous x-shot skins have an issue where if the paint is heated even slightly outside on a hot day for half an hour, it immediately smells like decaying flesh? i found this out the hard way, if it's the same thing for this blaster please get this to walcom's attention, its a serious design oversight to have blasters that smell rancid when heated even slightly
One of the biggest bits of news here is that this is going to be the first 'pro' blaster available on UK shelves. X-Shot is the main rival to Nerf here, so it's great to see them announcing brand new stuff for a change. Hasbro, now would be a really good time to announce your half dart flywheeler...
Exactly what I was thinking. And since the full dart refill packs are 100 for £11 at the moment we might actually stand a chance of having reliable, cheap half dart refill packs now, and potentially magazines too. And the blaster is only £35!! Even if this is doesn't compete at all in America I'm pretty sure our scene is lagging behind a bit because getting high performance blasters over here means 3D printing (with mostly American hardware) or importing which are both very expensive. I'm super excited to see how this goes.
Definitely can't wait for this, UK Berger's are stuck behind huge shipping paywalls to get high performance blasters, now we have options we can pick up from our local Smyth's
6:51 when i saw the thumbnail i was like "IS THAT A SENTRY GUN!?" and instantly clicked i want this thing so badly now edit: since you can attach other guns to it, i guess they really took the "use a gun, and if that don't work, use MORE Gun" line literally
I think Dart Zone has done a good job of capturing the hobbyist market, but I feel like Zuru is slowly taking over Nerf's ability to make 'toy-style' blasters. If I was a little kid, I wouldn't a bright blue Eaglepoint RD-8, I'd want the giant chainfed Ragefire or the lever-action gimmick blaster with the cool printed skins.
Totally. The prospect of a dart blaster that might have a lock preventing others from using it without the code would be awesome for someone with siblings
As a resident of the UK, getting a cheap and accessible pro-level blaster from a company I've enjoyed many products from before is very exciting to me...
Nerf, guns in general, just really hard to find from the UK. Considering how much more of Zuru’s lineup are findable in the Uk this is a gamechanger for pro nerf, gelfire, and just cool nerf style guns in the uk.
Crazy how Nerf Hasbro is quite infamous for being the ones to really do as much as they can to earn the most money with the least effort, yet they just refuse to bank off of the higher-end performance class of blasters
I feel like Hasbro got too comfy with their brand. Nerf dominated the market, so they became cheap overtime to maximize profits, thinking the market would stay the same. But now that 1- the fans grew up and 2- rivals companies are taking serious attempts at piercing the market, Hasbro is gonna have to seriously wake up to avoid loosing that market.
Zuru has taken things back to classic Nerf. Goofy, but fun. Does anyone need a single stacked 72 dark drum? No. Does it look absolutely obscure? Absolutely. Is it fun to use? It sure looks like it will be. And their pro line is looking promising. The Longshot could easily be my favorite blaster so far, and the price can't really be beat. Given that they made it take normal elite sized darts instead of their normal darts also makes me think that it will be compatible with nerf mags, and thus half dart mag adapters. And even if it isn't, people are gonna make an adapter anyway. Some bright days ahead for Zuru in the foam flinging hobby
I'm honestly ready to move on from Nerf to X-Shot mainly since it seems that their blasters shoot faster and harder; even their smallest blaster was shown to be capable of breaking a clay pigeon at point-blank range
And Nerf can't compete at X-Shot's level without some MAJOR compromises, like what we've seen from the Alpha Strike line (Even if we don't count the disastrous launch with the waffle grips, even the X-shot blasters have screws and better plastic compared to the 'holding clips' that the AS line had. And that line of thinking infected Elite 2.0's launch)
I feel the idea of these retail "pro" tier blasters having half-length adapters is so they don't alienate anybody who has primarily full-length blasters in their possession. We've all complained in the past about how all the mag-fed blasters only ever come with one mag (still do technically but for anyone who's accrued a stockpile of mags, the complaint is different), starting strictly with only half-length support restarts the whole issue which, from a consumer standpoint, sucks.
I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! If it's compatible with standard NERF mags, the included adapter doesn't HAVE to be Talon compatible because there are already adapters that do work with Talons like the ones in the Nexus Pro and Aeon Pro.
My guess as to why Zuru laid dormant was they probably had a few of their designers leave the company for whatever reason (maybe covid related). They probably got new designers about years ago and their stuff is finally ready for the market. I work in engineering and I can tell you that the design team responsible for this took at minimum 2 years from initial concept to make these. Whatever is going on at Zuru is gonna be great for us regardless though. Can't wait to see your reviews of all this madness
I love the fact that we get "fun" blasters, at a price that, well is fun as well. Zuru is gonna be a competitor and it's awesome. I love the Skins concept and can't wait until I give them my money.
The Lock Blaster... finally. They made a blaster just for me. Seriously, this piece is my ideal blaster. A "mare's leg" revolver I can conceivably prime one-handed, with plenty of ammo-capacity for when a wizard doesn't need to go for his specialized Caster Pistols. O Fuzzy Walrus, we can DEFINITELY be friends... even if I plan to cover those decals in a custom paint-job, because that's just how I roll.
The Lock Blaster is a must have for me. Aesthetics wise - hell yes, the only thing better would be if it were a rifle with a larger cylinder, which is probably going to be a thing down the road if they're going this outside the default designs. Though I am hoping its easy enough to remove the idiotic digital locks, this is a nerf blaster its not a tesla. I shouldn't need an app to unlock the physical item I bought. Its neat in theory but second hand market chances are they will be locked and then broken due to being brute forced. Either way I cannot wait. After the chaos orbit, which I still my goto rival shotgun, these should be pretty solid releases. In performance and build quality which is more than can be said for hasbro these days. TLDR: Love the design, hate the digital lock gimmick.
The best part about the lock is that it's a QR code on the blaster so as long as you don't lose that code in the secondary market anyone should be able to scan it at a Goodwill to unlock it. But yeah I agree it's a little too gimmicky and I hope it's kind of a one-time unlock thing.
Its been a very long time since I've been excited for a blaster, considering I don't buy them for performance. I buy for the look of the shell or the gimmick. A lever action REVOLVER? My two favorite types of blasters? Oh hell yea
This blaster looks like it uses a magwell adapter to switch between full-length and half-length, so even if they use a proprietary half-length mag, someone could probably pretty easily make an adapter for it that takes talons
Great to see Zuru coming out with more blasters as they are really the only other supplier of blasters in the UK besides Hasbro. Zuru X-shot blasters are cheaper, cooler looking and perform better than standard Nerf ones - what’s not to like
When I got into nerf, I was excited and couldn't wait to see what nerf brings out next. Now I can't wait to see what X-shot will bring out next. It may be time to rename the hobby to Dart zoneing or X-shoting.
That implacement, i need that thing. Partially so that i could make a custom Vickers or maxim gun barrell. Partially because i missed out on the vulcan and there quite expensive were i live. Take like three of those things and you could make an hvz kill zone
This awesome for us aussies as we don’t have dart zone, rival or any half dart blasters, and most companies don’t ship blasters to Australia so this is big as this will be the first half dart-high FPS blaster on store shelves
hopefully wont have to pay double if not triple retail to get my hands on these in Australia. the lockbarrel looks, wild. hopefully with them being made available in the UK Australia also pulls the stick out of their butt and lets us have em. ideally for a reasonable price.

Cant wait for thr zuru longshot its already on my mailing list, like i said to people theres no need to spend $200 on a printed blaster, china will come and save us with mass manufacturing!
W-w-w-wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.... Are you telling me that, by all accounts, the Game Face Trion is TECHNICALLY of Buzz Bee stock? Holy crap.
You see... I'm not a huge fan of super high FPS, I don't care too much about pro performance... But this shit looks amazing and may ship to Chile so I FUCKING WANT IT, especially that freaking lever action MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I know I’m like a year late, but the Lockbreaker (calling the Lock Blaster that now because it’s cooler, and because I misread the package 🤦♂️) and I LOVE it. The locking mechanism is unique, and like most other people are saying, the lever action is just… wow.
At this point, I don't think Nerf is even on the radar anymore. Who cares about Roblox, Minecraft and Fortnite when you have other brands making blasters that are twice your size and perform better than anything Hasbro puts out?
UNDER 40 BUCKS! For a 148 fps blaster. That is as rare as nerf making a good blaster this year man.(after the motoblitz. That has a chanche to be the the only good one this year)
I was already all over that Lock blaster but the pro bullpup??? I love my Lynx. Its probably my all time favorite blaster. I can't wait. Also I've been so sick all weekend too. Hope you get better soon!
This is a BIG thing for UK nerf. There are no companies currently making pro level nerf guns on uk shelves. Adventure force and dart zone don’t exist in the uk so it’s really interesting to get 140fps in the uk scene.
The minigun looks SICK!!! Heavy Machine guns are now a thing. I love the idea of a chain fed full auto machine gun mounted on a tripod. Walcom you must get one of these and field test it. I'm really curious what the FPS is along with the rate of fire. Heavy machine guns such as one's mounted on tripods are best used in situations where you have prebuilt fortifications, perhaps a wall of sandbags to protect the gunner. I used to play capture the flag at night with two fortified bunkers placed about 120 feet apart in a wooded area with slopping terrain and each bunker was equipped with flood lights to illuminate the battle area. Having a high capacity machine gun placed in each bunker could allow a small number of people to hold off a much larger attacking force and it provides a nice challenge for an attacking force. Two Prometheus blasters work well for this. They certainly have the range and you can lay down a dense field of foam making it difficult for the offense to get past the bunker and seize the enemy flag. A heavy nerf machine gun allows you to do more with less. Let's say your putting together a game and only have a half a dozen people to work with. Well with a heavy machine gun placed behind a barricade you can hold a position with just one or two people. If you have an odd number of people you can divide everyone into two teams with the smaller team playing a defensive role, holding a bunker while the larger team tries to get past them and capture the flag. To accomplish this you would need something like a Prometheus, a full auto blaster with a very high capacity, decent range and a high rate of fire but if this new minigun equipped with a tripod has decent range and a comparable rate of fire this new blaster might work just as well. It might even be a better option depending on the price after all the Prometheus is an excellent blaster, in my opinion the best one Nerf has ever made but it's not cheap and you need around a thousand rounds to ensure your gun crews don't run out of ammo. Plus I'm not even sure Nerf still manufactures the Prometheus so you might have trouble finding one for a decent price. So who knows maybe this new blaster might be a more economical way to hold ground with less people and give a single person the ability to hold off several people with a single blaster. It's definitely worth looking into.
as an australian i am excited as dart zone and adventure force isnt allowed (nerf is allowed but old guns arent on sale anymore, its just terrible guns for children)
Not to make anything political but the hobby community, specifically for nerf in this case is a good example for why free market capitalism is a good thing. The nerf ( the company ) monopoly is long dead
I managed to get the pro series longshot today, and it is genuinely incredible, I do not say that lightly. First time hearing about this and I’m amazed. Xshot is making a move on Nerf! I’m locked in on this blaster! Wow!

I dont think Nerf is gonna have a chance based on the rate of popularity Zuru is getting with the new insanity series😨
Xshot has achieved peak Insanity AND I AM HERE FOR IT.
as an australian i am excited as dart zone and adventure force isnt allowed (nerf is allowed but old guns arent on sale anymore, its just terrible guns for children)
Check your DM’s. XShot has no relationship with Orion Blasters as per statement from Dan
and if that don't work, use more gun
And you better hope it ain't pointed at you...
Wait……8 year old kids play with this? OOH F*** NO ONE IS SAFE HIDE!
I haven't seen a single Skins blaster I've liked prior to this, but if they are going to do more Skins like THIS....
holy shit
Not to make anything political but the hobby community, specifically for nerf in this case is a good example for why free market capitalism is a good thing. The nerf ( the company ) monopoly is long dead
