Nice to see an bullet journal instead of a scrap book. Too many videos have those extremely elaborated journals that I doubt actually work. Yours is very nice. Also, I think a binder offers more flexibility than a regular notebook because you can keep collections or projects together and add pages if needed, with a notebook your notes for the same topic will be on pages apart and you have to keep track of them using an index.
I think your comment is a little unfair. The whole point of bullet journaling is finding a system that works for you. If some people like to make their journals beautiful and use it as a creative outlet, then that’s up to them. The attitude of “my bujo is better than yours because .....” within this community is horrible and incredibly toxic.
Is there anyone else who keeps watching bullet journaling vids and whichever system you watch you feel like owning it and changing your existing one!!?!?!??
More on this system! I love how efficient it is. Could you please make a video on how you use this in conjunction with online planners? Or, if you don't use online planners anymore, could you give reasons why it didn't work out? Great video xx
Thank you, THANK YOU for doing a planner/Bullet Journal without a bunch of stickers, washi tape, etc, etc, etc. I need something that I can use for my small business and day to day life and I dont want to spend/waste time doing cutsey pages that are so completly distracting.
I've been looking for a more hybrid system, myself, but the Filofax is quite expensive compared to my current system. The Clever Fox planner website allows you to print out some of their pages so you can give it a try & I pasted some into my bullet journal (December is busy & I'm feeling a little lazy). I LOVE the layout of the right-hand page in the weekly layout, but I hate the actual layout of the daily schedule - - I prefer a vertical style. So... I might continue to print out the page with weekly priorities, personal to-do list, mini habit tracker, etc. & daily bullet journal on the right side. I like having those festures, but... It is a little time consuming. I'd like to explore more templates, or design/print my own! Planning is often a work in progress!! But I'm of the philosophy that if it helps you manage your life efficiently, any system is good. If artsy stuff helps someone, that isn't my place to judge.
Your hybrid seems like the very best of choices. I tend to make a lot of “collections” and the thought of reproducing them in each new bullet journal was a turn-off. The ability to move pages easily is my main reason for using a ring-based planner. Thanks for your video!
Just stumbled across this from a year ago, and it's perfect, absolutely perfect. So calming to look at - no busy colours or stickers or washi. My own system is similar but not nearly so neat! Thank you for sharing!
I am beginning to set up a hybrid planner too and your video has given me the push I needed to make it happen. I'd love more videos with more detail on your hybrid system. Thank you so much.
Great setup. Thanks for sharing! I do a hybrid Mini Happy Planner system. I use the month/week layouts from the happy planner and then I added a GTD context list section for all my todos and then I have a bunch of notes paper for whatever I need to write down. I also have a customized finance section and personal trackers. I've used a ring system before and they're just too big to take with me everywhere. So I switched to a discbound 8x5" notebook but that was still too bulky and I found I would leave it because I didn't feel like carrying it. So when I found the Mini Happy planner it was perfect! I have never been able to just use one pre-set planner system. I've always mixed and matched with different systems and custom inserts.
Excellent please do more on this, how you use it daily and everything😊 This is exactly what I have been wanting to do. After bullet journaling for 3 years, I love it but need to move and group things more easily and need calendars for appointments.
So glad to see you have created a hybrid system. I started doing that as well. Use the ring binder with the bullet journal system. Would so love watching more videos on how you use the hybrid system ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing! I was having some of the same experiences as you and really like the idea of being able to remove and add papers easier with the binder method. Plan to go in that direction next with my bujo
i am not organized in my time, but i should be because i have many thing to do, i have tried bullet journalingfor a couple of time but its just not for me and because in RUclips you see this highly decorated one i just didnt like by bullet journaling, and they took to much of my time to draw out, and because i am a perfectionist it just bothered me not having that perfect lay out or spacers because i felt like a needed to use one page at a time..... me just ranting, but ones i found this ring planers i method i fell in love and i am so exited on purchasing one and starting planning and keeping track of my life, even tho i am only 16, but i know i need to be more organized to be able to use my time as God wants me too, and be more productive, to be able to become my better self. i like your bullet journal method , and is something i want to try out. i am subscribing!
I loved this video. Can you demo and do a little tour of your MacBook Pro computer? I just got this computer and would like a little more hands on tutorial. Thank you.💕
So neat! I am all over the shop lol I use a hybrid system as my goal is tracking (applied statistics!) and learning topics, rather than planning. I appreciate the reflective sections too.
I love this! I too appreciate the structure of a premade planner but also want space for my creative flow of thought. Great idea to combine structure and the flexibility of two methods in one planner. Hope you post updates on how this works for you in the coming months! 💖
I too wanted such a system and found it ready made for me. Try the 2019 Muji A5 planner. It hs a ready-made monthly and weekly spreads with grid paper on the right side.
Nice video. My hybrid system is: 1) a '2109 Seasons' wire-bound A5 planner with 2) an Essentials (by Peter Pauper Press) A5 journal for my Collections and3) an A5 STM journal (original icon version) for Goals and Project Planning. I also use a DIY faux-Filofax in my home gym with a homemade printable log to track my fitness activities and guitar practice. I give myself a 'gold star' for every 15 minutes that I do my exercises or practice.
I used to (about 10 years or so ago) use Franklin Covey and their A5 planner, but didn't like how confining the pre-printed layouts were. I never thought about just using my FC book to create my own layouts back then, and just went back to keeping lists in spiral notebooks (old-school bullet journaling). Spiral notebooks aren't too portable, so I switched to bound books and started adopting bullet journal tips for a combination art journal/planner/analog list. My only problem... I'm too chaotic, and want to change all the pages. After redrawing spreads a number of times, I gave up and just recently repurchased an A5 6-ring binder specifically so I can have the best of all worlds. It's so weird how things come full-circle! I like this tips here, thanks!
I too have come to realise I love bullet journalling, but I dislike having to draw out spreads, and I want to organise and keep some collections permanently, and not leave them behind when I move onto a new volume. Also I like the freedom of being able rip out a page. I'll get my A5 filofax next week, and a decent hole punch so that I can incorporate spreads that I print.
I always look forward to your new videos! I was wondering if you'll be doing a video in the future about how you organize your past school work. I have so much school work and have no idea where or how to organize it
For habit tracking, you might try the Daylio app. It is advertised as a mood tracker but it has so much customization that it might work for you. You might not find an icon that matches the activity you want to track, but there are enough icons that you can assign something. I like it better than Goal Tracker or Simple Habit because you can backfill an activity in Daylio. You also get a weekly report and a search function.
this is a really good idea. I have been trying to combine structure planning with bullet journaling for a long time and this is easily my favorite idea. The only thing i personally could see me not liking about this is the metal binder rings. I would love to hear anything about how this affects the experience at all?
I enjoyed your video! Myself, I've always felt that the Franklin Covey method of putting tasks onto weekly (or daily) pages with their system of prioritization and icons for status of tasks was essentially the same as bullet-journaling....ringed-system + bullet journal task management = one awesome system! So do you plan to use the personal FF for on the go notes and back-up calendar?
Mariana, boa tarde. Primeiro parabéns pela organização. Tenho lutado por ela sem muito sucesso. Gostaria de saber se você utiliza um diário da vida pessoal ou somente o da profissional. O que recomenda?
Hi Mariana! Thanks for the information! I'm still wondering whether I should use paper or digital planner. I'm corcerning about the weight of the paperbased planner..
I use a kind of similar system, like weekly planner with list of to do's next to them, i'm kind of minimalist so i do not enjoy to have to much going on in my planner
I use the a similar method which is using an Notebook with discs (the brand is "caderno inteligente" and I'm not sure if it's available in other countries RN)
Hi! Love this new system you're using! 😍 Quick question, what do you do with all your old planner stuff(bullet journal and filled in paper from your filofax)? Do you keep them or throw them away?
Hi thank you for your in lightings videos I'm thinking about taking the bullet Jurnal path but would love to hear your takeoff on how it is interwoven with all your other systems ie the digitals way. Is tracking everything digital and manual is not double the workflow and that making it not so efficient? love to hear how the bullet system is integrated into the whole scheme of thing for you:)
Hiiiii Mariana, Your planner/bullet journal hybrid is very similar to the Franklin Covey Day Planner system I've been using since 1993. Hyrum Smith and his wife invented the Franklin Planner about 40 years ago and he said it's based off Benjamin Franklin's planning system. It comes in four sizes and it does everything you're doing with your hybrid, just everything is nice and neat in preprinted pages. It comes in daily and weekly formats so you won't have a problem journalizing in whatever format you choose. They have a couple books that explain how to effectively use the planner to its fullest potential and it's absolutely mind-blowing how simple the concept and process is. They offer several modules to customize the planner including similar financial pages, foldout calendars, in addition to the standard contacts, values, goals, 4-year planning calendars, and other tabbed modules that's included with the basic planer. Nothing wrong with your system, just suggesting an idea to look at for possible incorporation since planning and organizing is an everchanging process. Personally, I've been using a bullet/longform process since 1985, it all depends on how much I have to write. If I need details then longform, if I only a few words then bullets. I also never got into decorations especially since my artistic skills never developed much past stick figures. I do use symbology and I noticed Ryder uses an X for completed tasks instead of a checkmark, to me an X means the task was deleted and the checkmark means it was completed. I use forward and reverse arrows also when moving a task back a day or more with the forward arrow and when completing a task early I'll use the reverse arrow and annotate the date it was completed next to it. When delegating tasks I will use a "D" and write the person's name next to it. Hyrum Smith mentioned in one of his time management seminars of one of his first customers. A gentleman called him up about the seminar and Hyrum noted the day, time, duration of call, and what the call was about. He noted in his planner the details of the call with the gentleman including his name and future meeting in six months on a certain day and time. Six months later, the night before the meeting with the gentleman he was going through his daily planning process of recording/reviewing the day's activities and preparing for the next day which included the meeting with the gentleman from six months ago so he easily pulled the information from his storage binder since it was indexed in his planner where it was and prepared for the meeting. The next day during the meeting he was able to easily talk to the gentleman about the phone call, time of call, duration of call, and details simply by effectively using his day planner. The gentleman was overwhelmed because all he had to work with was a yellow legal pad which he'd been using for years at his company. He was immediately sold on Hyrum Smith's time management technique and scheduled seminars for all his employees. Also, I hadn't thought of this story in about 30 years but it was so vivid in my memory the way Hyrum explained it and his technique I was able to remember all this without a problem but I still have problems remember birthdays and such without reminders. As for Filofax, I've never heard of it outside an old movie from the 1990 movie "Taking Care of Business" where its a prop used by a advertising executive and his assistant just let him know she updated all his pages for the day including a key to his Malibu beach house. I thought the company went out of business like so many others in the 1990s but apparently they're still hanging in there after 99 years.
Do you have any tips on actually keeping up with it? I start using my planner and keep my stuff organized but lately I’ve started falling behind not just in using my planner but my classes :( it’s just hard for me for some reason
I’m also very bad at taking notes, sometimes it’s something as little as me feeling like my handwriting is terrible so I end up just ripping out my notes and trying over and over again.
New subbie here. Love your videos so far. Do you have any flip throughs? I would love to watch them instead of pausing rewinding pausing rewinding to see your pages. lol.
its prefect not complex but simple so the person can follow up i have seen alot of videos on bujo they just start showing the art i wonder do they work it has to simple so that we can follow it
I really need something like this! Does someone know about a premade system like this I can buy and use in GoodNotes on my iPad with my apple pencil? I'm too lazy to make it myself, and my skills aren't that good. I don't work so well with physical notebooks, planners and so on. Haha. For some reason I don't use them, even though I love them!
I bought myself a notebook so I can start bullet journaling but I don't know how to start with it... :( I actually turned it into a to-do list but I still feel disorganized, I barely get to accomplish all my tasks for the week, do you have any recommendations on how to start bullet journaling or what to read to have an idea? :( (i looked for the book you read about bujo but I just couldn't find it)
Watch the original video about bullet journal by Ryder, and just follow those basic steps. For a month, follow the basic ideia and see how it goes, or even just a week. When that time is up, take a bit of time to review how things went, and if anything didnt go to weel than do research on that specific item. Reading the book: The bullet journal method, gives you a really good mindset to tackle bullet journaling. But it is not necessary if you cant find it. Dont get stuck on doing to much research on the bullet journal, cause you will probably end up wasting a lot of time and not trying it yourself. To start, just reserve like 4 pages for an index, and then on the next blank spread (2 empty pages) right a future log, its basically a place were you can write down any events that will happend in the future. And then on the next blank spread, write the month and set up a list of the days like Ryder shows in his video, and a list of tasks for that month, i also write down a list of goals. Each day write down the date, and then write whatever comes to mind that needs to be done or that you dont want to forget. And the end of the day review what you did and what you wanted to remember. If there is anything big, like one of tasks is very complex, or something you dont want to forget involves a lot of things; create a collection, open the next blank spread, write a title and just write what you need. Use the index so you dont forget were this is, and also you shouls number the pages as you go. Im sorry if this is overwhelming. I just started writing and couldn't stop. My biggest biggest advice is to keep things simple and practicle by following what Ryder explains in his video. Hope I was of some help
@@cimy1261 Not overwhelming at all haha thank you so much for your advises! I'll take them into account and I'll sure watch Ryder's videos about this. Thank you again! 😊💜
@@sofias9238 If you want to ask anything, Ill try to replay as soon as I see it. Ill be more than happy to be able to help someone with this, in anyway I can
Sofía the most important fact is to keep it simple to Ryder's videos and try it out. Don't look at other people's journals and how beautiful and artistic it looks or you will get dejected and stop using your bullet journal
Amber Write a less expensive version by DayRunner can be found at Staples, around $35 for A5 size. Another option is to buy a “mini binder” for paper and dividers that are 5.5” x 8.5” and customize your own set-up. I use Franklin Planner’s pages in a mini-binder I bought at Staples and it works great for me. Best wishes in your planner journey.
yes, recollection planner at michael's or any A5 clear 6 ring binder cover on amazon, starts at $7.99 www.amazon.com/Clear-Binder-Covers-Notebook-Protector/dp/B07CG2YBCT/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1544328777&sr=8-7&keywords=A5+ring+binder
This would be great!!
Totally would love to see that! Loved this being able to fuse filofax with the bujo method. Loved this!!!
Happy to see someone else testing this hybrid system. I personally love using it!
I am with you on that weekly view with notes. After trying out so many different ways, I feel like that really is the best.
I love this hybrid system! I have been trying to find something similar and this have given me so much inspiration. Please keep this content coming
You could use the last section as a journal! This way, your filofax has everything regarding your organisation as well as mental well-being!
It’s brilliant!!! I’m starting my very own, it’s the best of both worlds!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Could you do a tutorial how to put together a professional portfolio for any internship job? Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing! I was having some of the same experiences as you and really like the idea of being able to remove and add papers easier with the binder method. Plan to go in that direction next with my bujo
Wow... at first I thought it was typed out. Beautiful and I was be watching this video over and over.
Loved the new setup and hope for more videos to come describing how each section is working for you.
Thank you for this, Mariana! I hope you could do a video on your updated lifestyle and how you keep on track of your daily tasks! Thanks again!

i wish i had seen this before buying my planner, which sucks, its super colorful and annoying i love your simple minimal layout
I too have come to realise I love bullet journalling, but I dislike having to draw out spreads, and I want to organise and keep some collections permanently, and not leave them behind when I move onto a new volume. ¡Hermoso, Mariana! Me agrada todas estas herramientas que nos propones. Es un arte todo este tema de la organización :)
I always look forward to your new videos! I was wondering if you'll be doing a video in the future about how you organize your past school work. I have so much school work and have no idea where or how to organize it

Love this Planner idea... please Give us more detailed information and how do you use in Daily life 😘
Yeh....you finally iploaded. Was waiting for this whole day today.😀😁
I also use this system. I use simple and cheap materials like small ring binder and paper.
Nice clean set up. Love it!
I enjoyed your video! Hi Mariana! Thanks for the information! I'm still wondering whether I should use paper or digital planner. I'm corcerning about the weight of the paperbased planner..
£75 for the journal...
Wow if in paying that much, the bullet journal should be taking down my notes for me
Smooth Melanin you could buy the clear A5 binder for several bucks to do the same job
Not all journals are that expensive you can get one for about 16 dollars/ pounds or what ever you use to achieve the same effect
It is good. As it is A5 you can create your own inserts. So it is not so expensive long term.
Hers was expensive because it was leather. Plastic cover binders pretty cheap. Plastic is better anyway since it's just more durable.
@@seraby7151 plastic is not more durable as it falls apart very quickly. It cracks and gets discoloured. Real Leather planners are the best!
Love it! This is exactly what I'm looking for!
I use a kind of similar system, like weekly planner with list of to do's next to them, i'm kind of minimalist so i do not enjoy to have to much going on in my planner
Yes, please do more videos about this. It's really helpful:D
This is exactly what I am going to do, kudos to you :)
Do you save the loose leaf pages and if yes, how do you save/organize them?
Hi! I love this idea, just a thought. How do you archive your completed journal for that year? Many thanks in advance!
Can I say your videos are amazing! 🙌
You mentioned you keep a stapler in your planner, where is it, what does it look like, where to purchase?
Great video! I really enjoyed hearing about your system. Very efficient!
GOOD MORNING

THANKS
Great planning setup.

I thought the company went out of business like so many others in the 1990s but apparently they're still hanging in there after 99 years.
i wish i could buy one but i have no money right now. i do bullet journal but i need a binder hahahaa one day i'll have it
SO NEAT AND TIDY.. 👍
i regret why i didnt find this channel before
I would really like more om this hybrid system
ooo ♡ lovely
Do you have any tips on actually keeping up with it? I start using my planner and keep my stuff organized but lately I’ve started falling behind not just in using my planner but my classes :( it’s just hard for me for some reason
I’m also very bad at taking notes, sometimes it’s something as little as me feeling like my handwriting is terrible so I end up just ripping out my notes and trying over and over again.
"Historia da Antiguidade"...do you speek portuguese?? Btw, I loved the video, as you I also need a flexible solution!
Hey . Can you let me know the name of the book you mentioned in your vedio.
Ahh another amazing video! Also first.
What planners do you recommend us to use?
New subbie here. Love your videos so far. Do you have any flip throughs? I would love to watch them instead of pausing rewinding pausing rewinding to see your pages. lol.
I have a flipthrough of my most recent notebook but no planner flipthrough that I remember!
@@mariana-vieira Definitely planner flipthrough if you get a chance :)

Cool..
What do you write in your weekly section thats different from the bullet journal section?
Mostly events. Anything that would go into your future log!
its prefect not complex but simple so the person can follow up i have seen alot of videos on bujo they just start showing the art i wonder do they work it has to simple so that we can follow it
Anirudh Tiwari it works for that person that's the whole point of the system
Where did you get the dotted grid?
❤❤❤
I really need something like this!
Does someone know about a premade system like this I can buy and use in GoodNotes on my iPad with my apple pencil? I'm too lazy to make it myself, and my skills aren't that good.
I don't work so well with physical notebooks, planners and so on. Haha. For some reason I don't use them, even though I love them!
Yes, I know ready made digital planners for Goodnotes ) look video in my Channel )
are you still using this system since you published this video?
Gosh the Filofax looks so nice
* looks up the price *
Huaaarrrgh
Look it up on bulletjournal.com
Can you please do an update
A disk planner is another option.
how does this actually cost?
Does someone knows a cheaper book? $75 😢
Best wishes in your planner journey.
yes, recollection planner at michael's or any A5 clear 6 ring binder cover on amazon, starts at $7.99
