That’s awesome you did this project. I could use this lift on my wife’s car since the bottom front scrapes on a curb each time she pulls into the driveway.
Being in Black Hills of south dakota many times thought about lifting it just so I can use in just a bit deeper snow for commute. I have driven it in almost of fir roads in the mountains here. But love how it gets around in snow and ice, and much cheaper to drive than my truck.
It's raises the center of gravity, which negatively affects handling. Otherwise it's nice for clearance. I wonder if the extra angle on cv axles will wear them faster.
I have a lifted prius, and it is “boaty” when lifted. However, i added 20mm (1 inch for V) wheel spacers and now its better than before! Back to being stiff and sportier than it gets credit for
I thought for sure that Peter would give us the measurements in centimeters. Curtis, on his Cutting Edge Engineering RUclips channel down under in Australia, calls the Imperial system we still use, the 'banana system'. Much of the Caterpillar mining equipment he repairs contain parts still manufactured in inches. Curtis will pull out a tape measure and say, '3 and a half bananas'. It doesn't matter, since he is using a lathe to make most of the replacement parts. He is one talented machinist. That Prius is not exactly designed as an off road vehicle.
I live in Northern Arizona ( Williams) my 17 Prius V does perfectly fine on Forest Roads to and from Sedona. I have stock suspension. A lifted Prius just means your catalytic converter is easier to steal. I'd love a lift to help with removing the oil filter. I don't need a jack to do my own oil change. An extra inch would help though. Pun intended 😉🤣
Looks like an easy way to makes some trade offs to get more places with your Prius. If I were doing this, I would also want to figure out the smallest wheels that would clear the brake and the biggest tires that would clear the wheel wells. It is no Jeep, there is not even an LSD, but with sufficiently low tire pressure and careful avoidance of rocks, maybe new opportunities open up? Doesn’t the Prius do weird things with the brake and gas are pressed together? In a conventional open-diff, you can apply the brakes a little to cheat a little torque out of the wheel with traction. Does that work in a Prius?
Howdy, I’ve been recently looking to buy a Prius V. From what I’ve been hearing is that these vehicles start going downhill around 150k miles with EGR/head gasket issues and eventually around 200k they need a completely new engine. Now I don’t know if this is true for everyone but I’m curious if you’ve experienced any of these issues?
You should check out the lift kit with heavy duty springs, it provides greater lift and ground clearance. My Prius on my channel, you might fall in love with it!
Other than being around an inch and a bit higher, the drive should not have changed much at all. Can't see the COG rising an inch or so making it feel boaty, must have been that way before.
Not interested in Prius off road and i am not sure why they didn’t but a Tacoma or tundra or 4 runner or land cruiser or GX series or sequoia etc…. You get what I mean. A Prius to me is a street car. Sorry for the rant.

Bring back the Prius v !!!!
Its called the Venza hybrid now.
Everyone wants it in London because it is so common for Uber because it’s seven seats instead of the 5 seats usdm spec
Good evening Peter! 👋

Nice video. Always loved the V. Would def of liked to see it driven post install. And any need for an alignment after all that? Thx
In Europe the Prius V is even better with a lithium ion battery and seven with better headlights as standard
You should see the amount of PriusV’s in London which are cars for Uber
Just a pro tip…You always want to measure from the fender edge to the center of the wheel (not the ground).

It’s a Prius… who cares. Handles like a turd anyway. (Prius fan and prior owner as well as two CT200hs)
Best off road Prius feature: automatic heat or air conditioning when camped.
Happy Easter, Pettr!

Did the same thing on a Prius V, with 1" wheel spacers
I would characterize the Prius handling as "boaty" straight from the factory. How did you make the suspension stiff by adding spacers?
Thank you!
I want to do that to a Prius and fit some All terrain tires.

I watch his channel. He gets me every time when he says banana.
Good job this is my favorite hybrid car

Your amazing I love your videos
I'm not sure the words 'Prius' and 'offroad' should be used in the same sentence.

@@jonathanh7268 So true, who among us can honestly say that they have never thought an extra inch would be nice.
My wife would love an extra inch😅

Hi thanks for the video . I have 2011 Prius do I need to also adjust the lower control arm since the ride height is changed please?
Thank you 🙏
Can you please do a coolant change on the Prius V
Is lifting going to change the alignment like "lowering" it does.
Unless you are going dumb high no.
I would always have it checked when complete

Cool Prius mod 😎👍

No coexist sticker. That's a refreshing change
It will be better if you do it in actual removing the shocks for educational purposes and diy for viewers
You will tear the crap out of that car on the forest roads. Doesn't matter what you do. Eat that Toyota metal for lunch. Yum yum.

If you want to do these kinds of activities, trade the Prius in for a Subaru.
Beta male car 🚗🤡
