This is for the New Mexico family, It's nice to see some diversity here in now Mexico, welcome! I love it here as well It is the only place that I have lived in the last 30 years that I was able to pay cash for the land and my home and I have solar that runs my entire home. New Mexico is a great place to come for off grid living there are many people here that do this and If you add up all things tax's, food gas, land cost of living This is one of the cheapest places to live in the US.

Wonderful to see a family of color in NM. I'm looking to move to NM to go off grid as well. It seems to be one of the few locations with affordable acreage in the US.

This is really nice to see, people who have planned and took step by step to get their. Not just thought hey I am living off the grid and go and do it. That makes so much sense, the build up to a more comfortable way of living, and getting back to basics. You guys are amazing.

Why create a blot on the landscape like this ? There are many places on this planet that are just not meant for humans to inhabit, and it looks like they've discovered a prime example. Look at the surrounding countryside. This area only gets a couple of inches of rain and snow _combined_ per year. By comparison, Denver, itself a desert, gets between 10 and 15 inches of precipitation per year. I wish them well, but my guess is they'll be totally demoralized and out 'o there within 5 years. Better to sell the toys and get out of there while they still have a few bucks left in the bank to cover moving expenses. Hitchhiking back to civilization really isn't fun.

@OffgridHomesteadFam it's amazing the things you can use melted snow for 😄..our cottage has no running water in winter, so melted snow does my dishes, flushes the toilet, can be used for bathing etc, etc... all the best from 🇨🇦🫶

How can you say you wish them well, but in the same sentence, you think they will fail. It's either you support them or you don't.

Great video! Liked & subscribed! Been thinking about doing this for the past few years. It really kicked in when I worked as a seafood processor in Alaska.
