Hi. Awesome video and right on time. I need to repot mine because she is a bit leggy. Can you tell me how should I cut/propagate her since she is so stretched out? Also, what are those white marks? Is it just scars? I have so many on mine and I believe it’s not scale. I wish I could show you a photo. Thanks and you got a new subbie.
@@bcvr4lb Thats wonderful that this video is perfect timing for you to repot yours too, the white marks are harmless scars usually caused by environment and any damage that has healed over, these cacti are very prone to them, but thankfully they are harmless. The best way to cut your cactus is to cut it straight across at the point where it starts to stretch out, the new growth will side shoot from one of the areoles around the top of the cactus, it will grow with a wonderful side shoot and have lots of character :-D Thanks so much for subbing to me, it means so much, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a super Sunday XXXX

That's such a tall cactus, so lovely, it definitely looks happier now, its a large specimen I reckon it will be fine. I remember my Cleistocactus winteri colademononis cactus came to me exactly root bound as a solid cube and was impenetrable like hard rock, so just replanted it temporarily, its been happy for a few years! But yes I did the same as you, I knew it would do more harm than good to rip it all apart as there were so, so many roots 😆 Is that booby cactus of flowering age yet, do you know? 😊🌵👍

If you cut the ratio in half it'll be a 777 estate of a 14-14-14 for cactus I would try to get it down so like a 555 or so it doesn't have to be perfect but that's usually the way it works
Hi there, ideally a Fertiliser ratio of 5-10-5 is best for cacti otherwise it can encourage weak and leggy growth as cacti are slow growers and too high nitrogen can encourage more leggy growth, a fertiliser higher in Phosphorus and lower in Nitrogen is best, its best to only use a fertiliser for cacti and succulents or you can use a Tomato fertiliser and dilute it to half the strength they recommended for tomatoes, I hope this helps, XXXX

Hi, can I ask a question, can a 14-14-14 npk ratio of fertilizer can make my cacti have a leggy growth?
It depends if it's a liquid fertilizer or a granule
If you cut the ratio in half it'll be a 777 estate of a 14-14-14 for cactus I would try to get it down so like a 555 or so it doesn't have to be perfect but that's usually the way it works
Im using granule should I dissolve it?
@@at I would say no, do not dissolve it. But, I'm not an expert, so....
