I had a lot of old pipes and rebar to cut up and from what I read ruclips.net/user/postUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 this would be the tool for the job. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

I love all my brushless dewalt power tool. They're a godsend when I needed a portable and powerful tool for the job. No more worries about carrying extension cord and finding the outlet for it. Makes life so much easier for all of my DIY project. This tool will be on my next wish list.

I've switched over from a combination of various brands, as well as the older Dewalt 18V to all Dewalt 20/60Volt. I recently had a DCG413 stolen, and purchased this CG416 after this review to replace it. The DCG416 is everything I loved about the DCG413, but STRONGER! Love it! Thanks for your recommendation.
    2 Questions:
    1) You were apparently using an abrasive cutoff wheel instead of a diamond wheel.... Why?
    2) What wheel would you normally use to bevel heavy metal for welding? It looked like that wheel was cutting much faster than the grinding wheels I normally use, so I'm wondering what would work better?

I got the DCG409 grinder (I guess the same machine as in the video just with sliding switch) and I don't understand what DeWalt thought when designing the box. You always have to remove the cutting disc to put it back in the box. The machine itself does its job just fine so far.

I'm guessing you're from the U.K? I wish they brought that grinder over with the slide lock switch. The only FlexVolt advantage grinders that we get have the paddle trigger. The 50% more power claim was for the 5ah 20v battery vs the flexvolt 6ah. The 6ah 20v has 21700 cells so it is already putting out pretty good. Id assume youd get a small bump in power using the bigger flexvolt batteries as well.

Just a curious Dewalt grinder newbie . You are using a Type 1 disk in the video. Shouldn't you be using a Type 1 guard with a Type 1 disk (like the Dewalt manual says) or is it common practice among experienced users like yourself to ignore the manuals and the safety advice in them?

The first cut you did with the DCG413 is flawed. You hung the weight in a further-back position. You do realize that where you hang the weight makes a difference, right? That's why the first cut was about 2 seconds slower. Please try to be more consistent in the future.
