I met an horrible accident where left foot badly injured and doctors said we had to cut your partial foot... Whenever Lord Shiva or Kaal Bhairav name comes, most people start imagining anger and destruction, which is totally wrong. All the mantras about Lord Shiva depicts his eternal compassionate and loving nature and not anger and destruction. Thus, I am giving some useful information below about this Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam. अष्टकम means Eight. In this case it means Eight Stanzas of Glory for Kaal Bhairav (a form of Lord Shiva). Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam was wrote by Adi Shankaracharya, an Indian philosopher and theologian who spread the Doctrine of Vedanta. The first stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bhairava the supreme lord of Kasi. His Lotus feet are served by Indra, The king of the devas and the great one who wears snake as his sacrificial thread (a cord worn by the Dvija's hanging from their left shoulder and goes below the right shoulder) and a moon on his head. He is extremely compassionate and is praised by Sage Narada and other Yogis, who also is a Digambara (remains naked). The second stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bharaiva who is the supreme Lord of the city of Kasi, who has the brilliance of a million suns, who rescues us from the ocean of worldly existence and who is Supreme, Who has a blue throat, who bestows us with worldly prosperities, which we wish for, and who has three eyes, who is death unto death itself, whose eyes are like a pair of lotus flowers, whose spear supports the three worlds like an axle ( axis) around which they rotate, and who is imperishable. The third stanza is a salutations to Lord Kala Bhairava the Lord of Kasi, who holds a spear, a noose, a club and punishment in his four hands, whose body is dark, who is the primordial Lord, who is imperishable, who is beyond the diseases of the world, who is the lord with terrific powers and who loves the strange vigorous Tandava Dance. ( the dance made by Lord Siva when he is terribly angry and preparing for destruction of the cities or worlds). The fourth stanza is Salutations to Kala Bhairava who is the Lord of Kasi, who is the giver of worldly prosperities as well as liberation and who has an auspicious and pleasing form, who is kind and loving to his devotees, who stands firm as the deity of all the lokas (worlds), who wears a belt containing shining golden bells around his waist- that jingle when he walks or dances creating a variety of pleasing sounds. The fifth stanza is a salutations to Lord Kala Bhairava who is the supreme lord of Kasi, who guards the established institution of the eternal dharma by leading the devotees towards the same, who is the lord that frees us from the fetters of Karma (the results of sins committed by us in our previous births), thereby giving us (great joy of possessing a sinless, free soul), who is embellished with golden coloured serpents entwining his body. The sixth stanza is a salutations to Kala Bhairava whose charming beautiful pair of feet are decked with sandals are decked with studded gems, who is the eternal, non dual Ishta devata (the God whom we cherish), who destroys the pride of death (manifested as fear within us), and whose large terrible serpentine fangs liberate us. The seventh stanza is Salutations to Kala Bhairava Whose loud and terrific laughter shatters the offspring produced by the ovaries of the creator (Lord Brahma), who is the powerful ruler who gives the eight powers( Siddhis), who wears a garland of skulls (like his counterpart Maha Kalika), whose terrific glance destroys the cob-webs, produced in our minds by the mighty rule of Sin. The final stanza is a Salutation to Kala Bhairava the ruler of Kasi, who is the leader of ghosts and spirits, who showers glory on his devotees, who absolves people dwelling in Kasi from their sins as well as the fruits of their righteous deeds - thus making their souls devoid of any connection with the mortal world, who is splendour, who is the lord, efficient in guiding us on the path of righteousness, who is eternally old, and who is the Lord of the universe. Kaal bhairav liberates you from the state of delusion and shows you the reality in it's truest form without any filtration. He makes you aware of every situation around you.
Actually Sanskrit is easy, if you know any "Devnagari Script" based language -- Hindi, Marathi (perhaps Gujarati) then it's very easy since the vowel and consonants sounds are same, and written the same way. So that's 40% learning already done, i.e. alphabets. Another 10% is vocabulary(of which again you'd already know meanings of most of you know Hindi/Marathi) which you learn eventually. And the rest 50% is basically Grammar, which has rules as with any language so you learn them with practice. I'm learning, started only a week back, seems pretty simple and sensible so far.

5 months ago i posted that my life was in a limbo. I was sincerely listening to this mantra and shiv tandav stotram. Life has got a lot better since then. I had to take some hard decisions but i feel lord shiva and kalbhairav opened my eyes towards those decions and helped me execute them, howsoever hard. I visited Mahakaleshwar and Kaal Bhairav in Ujjain last week, and my shoes were stolen from Mahakal mandir. (Anyone knows what it means?) Felt at peace. Lets see what 2025 have in store, with sadesati going on. Har har Mahadev.

@@skf7500well Shiv is indeed referred to as beyond time thus from our current knowledge time being the very moment Big Bang happens so Shiv is beyond that meaning time is not a restrain to him and he is above time itself.
Shiva is equivalent to nirguna bhamhan which only exists outside Maya. Maya came into existence out of consciousness during big bang, the concept of Hiranya garbha in Hindu philosophy which is equivalent to wave function, uncertainty principle etc in quantum physics. Max Planck also stated that matter came out of consciousness from quantum theories.saguna bramhan and various Gods, including our souls are manifestations of this in Maya across multiverses as per Hinduism.

Life is filled with a lot of confusions and uncertainties right now. Howmuch ever I fight, it's not getting resolved to peace. I recited this ashtakam the whole day when I was on the Satvik food diet and was eating just 4 chapatis with fewer vegetables and nothing other than this in a day for 1-2 months. Also, I was following Brahmacharya. At that time, I got clarity in my mind and got the reality check of this world that the world is nothing just an illusion, also I got strong intuition power. But again started eating too much and now there is no intuition power. But that time was something different for me. I don't know but that was something different.

Kalbhairav protects the Shaktipeets, which were pieces of Maata Sati, after Lord Vishnu used his sudarshan chakra to cut her dead and burnt body into 56 pieces, Lord Shiva then touched those body parts and gave rise to a shivling which were called Shaktipeets, however asurs were attacking the Shaktipeets, therefore in order to ensure the shaktipeets were unharmed, lord shiva placed an ansh of him (Kalbhairav) at each shaktipeet, which protected them ... Therefore whenever you visit a shaktipeet, you will see a statue of Kalbhairav

I met an horrible accident where left foot badly injured and doctors said we had to cut your partial foot...
I believed in mahadev and started praying...then suddenly after 7 days my injured foot getting better and wound getting much better then before...now after 4 surgeries, m in healing mode will be able to walk after few more days... definitely mahadev saved my leg...

Whenever Lord Shiva or Kaal Bhairav name comes, most people start imagining anger and destruction, which is totally wrong. All the mantras about Lord Shiva depicts his eternal compassionate and loving nature and not anger and destruction. Thus, I am giving some useful information below about this Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam.
अष्टकम means Eight. In this case it means Eight Stanzas of Glory for Kaal Bhairav (a form of Lord Shiva). Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam was wrote by Adi Shankaracharya, an Indian philosopher and theologian who spread the Doctrine of Vedanta.
The first stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bhairava the supreme lord of Kasi. His Lotus feet are served by Indra, The king of the devas and the great one who wears snake as his sacrificial thread (a cord worn by the Dvija's hanging from their left shoulder and goes below the right shoulder) and a moon on his head. He is extremely compassionate and is praised by Sage Narada and other Yogis, who also is a Digambara (remains naked).
The second stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bharaiva who is the supreme Lord of the city of Kasi, who has the brilliance of a million suns, who rescues us from the ocean of worldly existence and who is Supreme, Who has a blue throat, who bestows us with worldly prosperities, which we wish for, and who has three eyes, who is death unto death itself, whose eyes are like a pair of lotus flowers, whose spear supports the three worlds like an axle ( axis) around which they rotate, and who is imperishable.
The third stanza is a salutations to Lord Kala Bhairava the Lord of Kasi, who holds a spear, a noose, a club and punishment in his four hands, whose body is dark, who is the primordial Lord, who is imperishable, who is beyond the diseases of the world, who is the lord with terrific powers and who loves the strange vigorous Tandava Dance. ( the dance made by Lord Siva when he is terribly angry and preparing for destruction of the cities or worlds).
The fourth stanza is Salutations to Kala Bhairava who is the Lord of Kasi, who is the giver of worldly prosperities as well as liberation and who has an auspicious and pleasing form, who is kind and loving to his devotees, who stands firm as the deity of all the lokas (worlds), who wears a belt containing shining golden bells around his waist- that jingle when he walks or dances creating a variety of pleasing sounds.
The fifth stanza is a salutations to Lord Kala Bhairava who is the supreme lord of Kasi, who guards the established institution of the eternal dharma by leading the devotees towards the same, who is the lord that frees us from the fetters of Karma (the results of sins committed by us in our previous births), thereby giving us (great joy of possessing a sinless, free soul), who is embellished with golden coloured serpents entwining his body.
The sixth stanza is a salutations to Kala Bhairava whose charming beautiful pair of feet are decked with sandals are decked with studded gems, who is the eternal, non dual Ishta devata (the God whom we cherish), who destroys the pride of death (manifested as fear within us), and whose large terrible serpentine fangs liberate us.
The seventh stanza is Salutations to Kala Bhairava Whose loud and terrific laughter shatters the offspring produced by the ovaries of the creator (Lord Brahma), who is the powerful ruler who gives the eight powers( Siddhis), who wears a garland of skulls (like his counterpart Maha Kalika), whose terrific glance destroys the cob-webs, produced in our minds by the mighty rule of Sin.
The final stanza is a Salutation to Kala Bhairava the ruler of Kasi, who is the leader of ghosts and spirits, who showers glory on his devotees, who absolves people dwelling in Kasi from their sins as well as the fruits of their righteous deeds - thus making their souls devoid of any connection with the mortal world, who is splendour, who is the lord, efficient in guiding us on the path of righteousness, who is eternally old, and who is the Lord of the universe.

श्री कालभैरव अष्टक भगवान काल भैरव को समर्पित है। आद्य शंकराचार्य जी द्वारा रचित यह दिव्य स्तोत्र भगवान कालभैरव के विकराल और भयंकर स्वरूप की स्तुति करता है। भगवान काल भैरव का रूप उग्र और प्रचंड है लेकिन वे बहुत ही भोले और सरल स्वभाव के हैं, वे अपने भक्तो से प्रेम करते हैं एवं अपने भक्तों की रक्षा के लिए वे सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं।।

जिनके पवित्र चरर्णों की सेवा देवराज इंद्र भगवान सदा करते हैं, जिन्होंने शिरोभूषण के रुप में चंद्र और सांप (सर्प) को धारण किया है, जो दिगंबर जी के वेश में हैं और नारद भगवान आदि योगिगों का समूह जिनकी पूजा, वंदना करते हैं, उन काशी के नाथ कालभैरव जी को मैं भजता हूं।
भानुकोटिभास्वरं भवाब्धितारकं परं
नीलकण्ठमीप्सितार्थदायकं त्रिलोचनम ।
कालकालमंबुजाक्षमक्षशूलमक्षरं
काशिका पुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे॥२॥
जो सूर्य के समान प्रकाश देने वाले हैं, परमेश्वर भवसागर से जो तारने वाले हैं, जिनका कंठ नीला है और सांसारिक समृद्धियां प्रदान करते हैं और जिनके नेत्र तीन हैं। जो काल के भी काल हैं और जिनका त्रिशूल तीन लोकों को धारण करता है और जो अविनाशी हैं उस काशी के स्वामी कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
शूलटङ्कपाशदण्डपाणिमादिकारणं
श्यामकायमादिदेवमक्षरं निरामयम ।
भीमविक्रमं प्रभुं विचित्रताण्डवप्रियं
काशिका पुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥३॥
जो अपने दोनों हाथों में त्रिशूल, फन्दा, कुल्हाड़ी और दंड लिया करते हैं, जो सृष्टि के सृजन के कारण हैं और सांवले रंग के हैं और आदिदेव सांसारिक रोगों से परे हैं, जिन्हें विचित्र तांडव पसंद है उस काशी के नाथ कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
भुक्तिमुक्तिदायकं प्रशस्तचारुविग्रहं
भक्तवत्सलं स्थितं समस्तलोकविग्रहम ।
विनिक्वणन्मनोज्ञहेमकिङ्किणीलसत्कटिं
काशिकापुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥४॥
जो मुक्ति प्रदान करते हैं, शुभ, आनंद दायक रुप धारण करते हैं, जो भक्तों से सदा प्रेम करते हैं और तीने लोकों में स्थित हैं। जो अपनी कमर पर घंटियां धारण करते हैं उन काशी के भगवान कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
धर्मसेतुपालकं त्वधर्ममार्गनाशकं
कर्मपाशमोचकं सुशर्मदायकं विभुम ।
स्वर्णवर्णशेषपाशशोभिताङ्गमण्डलं
काशिकापुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥ ५॥
जो धर्म की रक्षा करते हैं और अधर्म के मार्गों का नाश करते हैं, कर्मों के जाल से मुक्त करते हैं। जो स्वर्ण रंग के सांप से सुशोभित हैं उस काशी के नाथ कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
रत्नपादुकाप्रभाभिरामपादयुग्मकं
नित्यमद्वितीयमिष्टदैवतं निरञ्जनम ।
मृत्युदर्पनाशनं कराळदंष्ट्रमोक्षणं
काशिकापुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥६॥
जिनके दोनों पैर रत्न जड़ित हैं, जो इष्ट देवता और परम पवित्र हैं। जो अपने दांतों से मौत का भय दूर करते हैं उन काशी के नाथ कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
अट्टहासभिन्नपद्मजाण्डकोशसन्ततिं
दृष्टिपातनष्टपापजालमुग्रशासनम ।
अष्टसिद्धिदायकं कपालमालिकन्धरं
काशिकापुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥७॥
जिनकी हंसी की ध्वनि से कमल से उत्पन्न ब्रह्मा की सभी कृतियों की गति रुक जाती है, जिसकी दृष्टि पड़ने से पापों का नाश हो जाता है, जो अष्ट सिद्धियां प्रदान करते हैं और मुंड़ों की माला धारण करते हैं उस काशी के नाथ कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
भूतसङ्घनायकं विशालकीर्तिदायकं
काशिवासलोकपुण्यपापशोधकं विभुम ।
नीतिमार्गकोविदं पुरातनं जगत्पतिं
काशिकापुराधिनाथ कालभैरवं भजे ॥८॥
जो भूत, प्रेतों के स्वामी हैं और विशाल कीर्ति प्रदान करने वाले हैं, जो सत्य और नीति का रास्ता दिखाते हैं, जो जगतपति हैं उस काशी के नाथ कालभैरव को मैं भजता हूं।
कालभैरवाष्टकं पठन्ति ये मनोहरं
ज्ञानमुक्तिसाधनं विचित्रपुण्यवर्धनम ।
शोकमोहदैन्यलोभकोपतापनाशनं
ते प्रयान्ति कालभैरवाङ्घ्रिसन्निधिं ध्रुवम ॥९॥
जो काल भैरव अष्टकम का पाठ करते हैं, वो ज्ञान और मुक्ति को प्राप्त करते हैं। पुण्य पाते हैं और मृत्यु के पश्चात शोक, मोह, लोभ, ताप, क्रोध आदि का नाश करने वाले भागवान काल भैरव के चरणों को प्राप्त करते हैं।।

Actually Sanskrit is easy, if you know any "Devnagari Script" based language -- Hindi, Marathi (perhaps Gujarati) then it's very easy since the vowel and consonants sounds are same, and written the same way. So that's 40% learning already done, i.e. alphabets. Another 10% is vocabulary(of which again you'd already know meanings of most of you know Hindi/Marathi) which you learn eventually. And the rest 50% is basically Grammar, which has rules as with any language so you learn them with practice.
I'm learning, started only a week back, seems pretty simple and sensible so far.

5 months ago i posted that my life was in a limbo. I was sincerely listening to this mantra and shiv tandav stotram. Life has got a lot better since then. I had to take some hard decisions but i feel lord shiva and kalbhairav opened my eyes towards those decions and helped me execute them, howsoever hard.
I visited Mahakaleshwar and Kaal Bhairav in Ujjain last week, and my shoes were stolen from Mahakal mandir. (Anyone knows what it means?)

@@skf7500well Shiv is indeed referred to as beyond time thus from our current knowledge time being the very moment Big Bang happens so Shiv is beyond that meaning time is not a restrain to him and he is above time itself.
Shiva is equivalent to nirguna bhamhan which only exists outside Maya. Maya came into existence out of consciousness during big bang, the concept of Hiranya garbha in Hindu philosophy which is equivalent to wave function, uncertainty principle etc in quantum physics. Max Planck also stated that matter came out of consciousness from quantum theories.saguna bramhan and various Gods, including our souls are manifestations of this in Maya across multiverses as per Hinduism.

I recited this ashtakam the whole day when I was on the Satvik food diet and was eating just 4 chapatis with fewer vegetables and nothing other than this in a day for 1-2 months. Also, I was following Brahmacharya. At that time, I got clarity in my mind and got the reality check of this world that the world is nothing just an illusion, also I got strong intuition power. But again started eating too much and now there is no intuition power. But that time was something different for me. I don't know but that was something different.

Kalbhairav protects the Shaktipeets, which were pieces of Maata Sati, after Lord Vishnu used his sudarshan chakra to cut her dead and burnt body into 56 pieces, Lord Shiva then touched those body parts and gave rise to a shivling which were called Shaktipeets, however asurs were attacking the Shaktipeets, therefore in order to ensure the shaktipeets were unharmed, lord shiva placed an ansh of him (Kalbhairav) at each shaktipeet, which protected them ... Therefore whenever you visit a shaktipeet, you will see a statue of Kalbhairav
