    I love how well she lies about her true ambitions. She knows already that it isn’t school that makes her smart. With Some people that’s true, but in her case not. And the adults around her recognise that.
    There are aspects of the original script that are highly suspect, especially given that it is based upon the director’s own experiences with his girlfriend who was with him from the age of 12.
    But I think Natalie was lucky because Jean Reno appears to be a genuinely decent guy who would protect her. At least we haven’t heard any different, and Natalie has never demonstrated any signs of being mistreated by the system.
    Sadly, that’s a surprise these days.

      I agree with everything about the lying part. You can tell that’s what she genuinely thought at the time, probably due to parental influence.

    Je n'aime pas sa coupe de cheveux. Je la préfère dans le film "Léon", ou alors avec les cheveux plus longs, mais là ça ne va pas... Sinon, je ne comprends rien à ce qu'elle raconte, y a-t-il une traduction en français ? lol ^^ (is there a translation in French ?)
