A knight in shining armour is a knight who flees all the time during war. If you want a strong knight to protect you, YOU WANT THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN INTO THE FIRE! THE ONE COVERED IN BLOOD!!
I had a Faber-Castell pencil box in my school days. There was this picture of two knights jousting on it. I have been fascinated by knights and everything medieval 🏯 ever since.
King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table are utterly legendary! Richard Wagner was enchanted with Percival (aka Parsifal). He was so innocent that he didn't even know his own name!
only a knight in shining armor had never been gone to battle. in short his armor is just for a show, just for a coward. a true knight's armor really is worn out thats a true knight his experience is based on the scratches in his armor in his many battles he encountered 👊👊👊
There's something called maintenance and polishing man. Im pretty sure that even peasantry would've kept their stuff as shiny and pretty as possible and make repairs when possible. This modern narrative of the veteran with scars and old equipment may be a cool concept for fiction, but it does not go well with what our ancestors found appealing.
@@Velkan1396 actually many knights couldn't afford to maintain their armor so they painted it black. Irony was that they might have been kind but the local merchants would sometimes be so rich that they had better gear and people to maintain it at all times.
That's quite ignorant to say. The Romans had plate armor, and in the Middle Ages, high nobility had plate armor as well. Only until the 1400's was plate armor costly that most knights used chain mail.
STEVE P technically speaking it did. However full plate armor became extremely expensive around that point (considering it's close to the 11th century.) it could still be there it would just be worn by Nobility and Royalty. Since it was so expensive it became more of a collectors item mainly due to how rare the metal had become. Eventually more metal was found but it was used sparingly.
How do you know plate armor didnt exist? Any proof of these allegations? hmmm arthur not a knight in shining armor? No one said he was in shining armor then again any proof of this?
Errrr... Yes. There are. Because there's no extant armor of the eleven or twelf century, that are full plate, and every single art depiction from.the time, depicts Knights equipped with mail and padded armor.

Go, Dr. Capwell! The American who happens to be the foremost expert on Medieval arms and armor in all of England!😁

The actor Arthur looks hot

They found evidence of full bronze plate armor dating back to ancient Greecen. They have no such evidence of plate armor in the 7th century.
Knights in shinning armor has to be my favorite class war
A class war
A war between competing social economic classes
A war between
The rich
And
A war between the ultimate underdog
The poor
No one talks about this mid evil battle field
But if you remove the advanced human concepts of
Country
Kingdom
Religion
Knighthood
Nationalism
Your basically left with a war between
Rich warriors riding on horse back
With their bodies encased in steel plate armor and well trained grain fed horses
Vs
Poor warriors on foot consisting of the of people using the bow and arrow a primative a weapon used primarily for food production
People with no armor or at best improvised armor from leather created from the immediate necessity before war
This shouldn't be viewed as a social or economic war but a metaphor for the species
A steel knights armor and war horse was the equivalent cost of modern day Lamborghini in terms of money and performance
Compared to the improvised cloth and leather armor warn by the archer that had little or no monetary value and was created in the last moments before war
In my opinion
It's a metaphor between
Knowledge vs instinct
Or
Action vs reaction
Or
Survival and human desensitization
On the one hand you have the knights
With Superior
Training
Mind sent
Professionalism
Steel armor
Steel swords
Warrior mind set
Wealth
Speed
Power
Vs
The archer and foot man
Larger numbers
Poor
Learned from necessity
Improvised armor or weapons
Ability to fire from distance in Hope's of killing opponent with as little danger to oneself as possible to remain alive
Little to no training
This example of historic class war has happened in every part of the world from
Samurai vs ninja
To modern day
Space vs earth
