I came here to say this. It needs princess seaming or darts to make a waist. Or should have different side seam structure. It’s bagging out at the bottom hem.
i Make clothes by hand and way faster without patterns trace your clothes against fabric and your done. This motif idt was very helpful but the Briti accent and speech dialect superb very well speaking voice.
+Edwardo Manuel I have often thought of 'Reverse Engineering' my favourite clothes but was too afraid to attempt it... Can you please elaborate upon how you accomplish this? Is it difficult? Oh! And I think this lady is Australian, not British! ;)
+jenny mulhall no it is not. A bikini can be for triangles and one rectangle to triangles for the top and two for the bottom and attach the rectangle in the middle of the two at the bottom. Get the concept and when you bead add a backing and when you upcycle which i think your saying you trace the fabric against the garment inside out people think im rich cause its that easy.
Edwardo Manuel Thank you so much! I'm going to try this on my favourite skirt. If it works on a cheap trial piece of fabric, I'll make myself lots! Have a great weekend! :)
A real Chanel jacket doesn't have such a loosey fit and does not fall like this when worn , especially at the shoulders , the front and especially , in the back. There is nothing Chanel and nothing Haute Couture about this ensemble . My aunt whom i watched this video with, is a graduate from the french Chambre Superieure de la Haute Couture in Paris and has spent 45 years working for 4 major maisons of Haute Couture , Yves St Laurent, where she started as a second , when Yves still ran the house , then chronologically , Dior, Chanel still as second and Versace as premiere or first . She has participated in the making process and final check of dozens upon dozens of haute couture Chanel Jackets among other gowns and this is just not how they are made and how they look . Your patterns , well the patterns you are using , are very simple, which is not an insult at all , just a fact, and the way you mount or put everything together is even more simple , none of the tricks that makes a jacket or ensemble a couture gown are there, and all this shows in the final product . This might be a better quality from what you will find at Zara or H&M but that's about it, this jacket doesn't even begin to compare to a Chanel Jacket, in the ready to wear range . This is how a jacket is made ruclips.net/video/lZrNRijx2vI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/19W7fvOBG0c/видео.html and this is how it looks when worn ruclips.net/video/ES-LIGYv8pc/видео.html
Where does this tutorial ever say Chanel or even French? It is very clear from the beginning what the results will be. But I guess name-dropping and feeling superior is important to some.
It says Chanel and shows a Jacket and skirt ensemble with "The Chanel Jacket" , written right next to it (though it is not a Chanel at all) in the first 20 seconds Elisabeth . And i am using the word French a single time in my previous comment to refer to the Chambre superieure de la Haute Couture which is THE place true Haute Couture is taught . And as far as i know the Chanel Jacket is a pure french product , unless you are going to tell me that Gabrielle wasn't French . So what's wrong about associating Chanel with France , especially the Jacket which is , with the little black dress and the matelassé bag , one of the three most iconic symbols of the House . I am not the one who compared that Jacket in the video to Chanel , TeachMeFashion did, (they say very clearly in the beginning that "this is the TeachMeFashion CHANEL JACKET ) and i just wrote that this wasn't even remotely close to how a real Chanel Jacket is made and what it looks like . Watch the video again from the start before making a stupid comment Elisabeth and calling ME superior , when this is actually TeachMeFashion who has the nerves to present this as the tutorial for a Chanel jacket . A bon entendeur .
Duely noted it says Chanel in the intro, but nowhere else. And 1 minute into the 3rd video you posted, mademoiselle herself is shown wearing an immensely baggy tweed jacket. So I don’t know about that...
It only needs to be said once to make it unacceptable . Mademoiselle's style was baggy, though the proper term is déstructuré or deconstructed (to free women and allow them to move more easily), as opposed to the perfect tight fit almost corset like look of the 1950s and especially as opposed to Christian's Dior . The now perfectly fitted Chanel Jackets are Karl's style or vision . Gabrielle would probably hate it .
Good grief let's just beat the snot out of the lady for not being perfect for a Chanel....being sarcastic here because I get it isn't perfect, but the seamstress/designer seemed to really be trying to make a nice jacket piece and I appreciate her effort. After reading these comments when I make my Chanel inspired jackets I likely won't video them because the comments are really critical. No one is perfect. And this lady has talent.
Fabulous instruction. Your talent and generosity are appreciated. Thank you.

This video is just perfect! Thank you so much!!
Luv tutorials. I advocate for a muslin fitting. It will resolve the issue of the back of your jacket hemline ridding up.

Nicely done. But I am a bit confused. Isn't the pocket flap supposed to be facing downwards instead ?

Could I just ask why the pocket flap is positioned upwards as opposed to a downward flap? Never seen it like this before on a jacket.
Wonderful!

Great video, keep them coming !
Why does it hang funny at the back?

Hello like
I wanna be this level pro, like now I only sew dresses :/
If you pin fabric up down, instead of sideways you don't have to remove pins while sewing.
but first let me know how to make pattern or you will provide free pattern, since i have subscribed to your channel,

Доброго времени суток! Почему клапаны карманов подняты ВВЕРХ? Насколько мне известно, их пришивают в направлении ВНИЗ .Или это задумано автором?,
😘😘👏👏👏👏👏

This is an excellent tutorial but the narrator seems angry. 😳
The House of Chanel does not sew valves like this. There's a different technology.
LOL, the jacket is good, but watched this previously and you have edited the bit where the model turns around and shows the awful shaping in the back.

Спинка очень вздернутая, выкройка не правильная.
This is not how the little French jacket is made at all.
