I totally agree. I am a huge fan of Scott Walker. The first time I heard this, throughout the verse I thought this was going to be the amazing version but the chorus seemed to fall flat. It sounds better to me now but I don't think anyone will ever come close to Lorraine Ellison. Listening to her sing this is a shattering experience. I am not normally a fan of screaming in singing but with Ellison, it's just something else. By the way, Terry Reid did a pretty good job on this too. The backing track is kind of weak (Mickie Most apparently wasn't too interested) but Reid's vocal was pretty great.
