Come back to us Scott we all love you and your voice, just you, I’m still trying to find a red scarf like yours. You really are wonderful love Arlene xxxxxxxxxx ❤
This song was in my head all thru the night Scott, I miss u 😢 my heart hurts that you’re no longer here just t turn up on a show and sing t us fans sitting here missing u love Arlene xxxxxx ❤
Thank you Noel, thank you Scott..... for being the person, the singer, the artist, the painter with words and sound.... may your daughter and granddaughter cherish the memories in their hearts. You deserve a lot of respect. Leaving the world behind with amazing songs. Use your wings and fly..... you did a great job on earth.
My dearest Scott if only I’d have had more courage in my youth to approach you but at 15 I was terrified you wouldn’t see me. You have been in my life ever since I will never love anyone as much as u Arlene cxxxxxxx
Another masterpiece from Scott Walker's under-rated 1973 album Stretch. I doubt if this interpretation of the Randy Newman song has ever been bettered.
Yes we were so lucky in the 60’s if it hadn’t been for my father taking me home I would never have got there, crying all the time I was only a young girl and wanted him then as much as I do now and I’ll be 71 next month and he can still turn me to tears. Love you Scott Arlene xxxxx
He sounds huskier than when he was younger.
S, I agree we were lucky in the 60’s but still are with everything Scott has left us. It still makes me cry tho, just want him back. Love Arlene xxxxxxxxx ❤
Sorry I’ve been missing Scott😂 I’ve thought about you everyday. ❤ you mean so much to me you will never know, just one smile for me please I wish I could see you walk through the door, love you Scott,Arlene xxxxxxx❤
I went to see The Walker Brothers twice when they came to my town. Then I used to go to see Scott at a small place called Fagans in Manchester. He didn't like all the pressure of the big gigs because he was a very shy private person .
Fascinating very slow version - I think that, on balance, I prefer Gene Pitney or Dusty Springfield, but, nonetheless, Scott Walker has a wonderful voice and never disappoints.
I agree with you, especially being a big fan of Gene Pitney. However, had I heard Scott's version of this song first, I might now be preferring it to the others. At any rate three stellar performers now gone from our earthly domain, each unique in their talents and ability to interpret a good song. 6/2019
It is so rare for me not to find Scott's version to be definitive but in this case I'm going to state a preference for both Dusty and Blood Sweat and Tears on their first album. But Scott is still my all time favorite male vocalist by far.
Nancy Miriam Yes, he suffered deeply from stage fright in front of large audiences. Frankly, I would find that too. All of the finest artistes had some degree of stage fright but Scotts was among the worst mainly because he didn't think his voice was good enough.
This is the first I've ever heard of Scott Walker version of "Just One Smile". I knew only of Gene Pitney and Dusty Springfield versions. That said, this one is somewhat creepy. Dull. Slow... I darn near fell asleep listening to it. Sorry. Gene Pitney version takes the prize -- full of emotion, good speed, good tone, better voice. This Scott Walker is part of the Walker Brothers who sang "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore"? That was much better!
I've been listening to this man since 1965 and still listening in 2024. Thank goodness we have his records. So missed ❤
your voice was absolutely unique and there will never be a voice even remotely similar to Scott's! Miss you man. Rest in peace and in light !
Beautiful Scott love you Arlene xxxxxxxx

Arlene you must be number one fan ❤
His wonderful rich voice makes this song so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️🤗👍💯👏👏👏👏👏
oh gosh I cried out my adolescence with this man and he still has the power to push all my buttons....how lucky we were to be young in the sixties....
He still does that for me also even now.
Me too 🌹
Ooh that voice, his looks, I am 18 again.. 😉 🌈💃💕🥰😏
I listen to him every day even now. Just love him and his voice so much. 💕
I still have a mad crush on Scott and I am 72.

I saw him in Liverpool about 1974.
The audience cried for more, but Scott wanted a standing ovation.
Only me stood up...
How lucky you are Janet. Precious memories.
i've got 6 of Scott's solo albums all incredible
Unbelievable version it’s so magical
La mejor versión, scott, tema hecho para tu voz, junio 2020....

@@ebaylistentomusic Al Kooper does a lovely live version...
@@bianchikat He recorded it on the first Blood, Sweat & Tears album. That's a great version -- very different from the ballad renditions.
@batesovic
This song is a very very gentle. I'm give for sadness my citizen of Japanese.
thanks
Heaven..❤️💜😻🌹
Yes, wonderful Scott, just ONE smile. Get it over with
RIP.
That's true.
Thanks.
Scott ... Dusty ... close run thing
SG Barnard agree but also appreciate Gene Pitney version too.
SCOTT
Love Scott Walker singing this but although I am a devoted fan of his I do think gene pitneys version is very good. R.i.p.2 beautiful singers.💔💔
❤
Maybe because he was a very handsome man. Or any else can tell me why??
Perhaps he was born that way, that's just his temperament.
💙💙💔💙💙
Bloody great. This or Dusty Springfield version though?
I prefer Dusty's version. Though i adore Scott Walker.
Gene Pitney did the best recording of this song IMHO.
@@barbaraharney3050 Scott all day long.
"Dusty In Memphis" ...
What an album !!
DUSTY #1
Was Scott a very shy private person?? I don't know why??
Nancy Miriam Yes, he suffered deeply from stage fright in front of large audiences. Frankly, I would find that too.

Black star
.. no ..
Gene Pitney.
Cannot argue he is a great singer….But on this occasion
Gene Pitneys version wins hands down
Pitney's chipmonks style doesn't have the sincerity, emotion and sensitivity of Scott's version. It's not Scott's intention to belt it out.
Dusty springfield
