This Park sign describes "the Snake"
"You are standing at the top of curves that road enthusiasts affectionately call "The Snake". Over the years Mulholland Highway has tested the merits of cars from Duesenbergs to Teslas. This particular stretch of road is a mecca for motorcyclists. It's sharp turns offer an adrenaline rush and a chance for fun, fame and often folly.
To your left is "Edwards Corner". It was named after the late Ed Savko, long-time owner of the Rock Store., a popular road house just down the hill. Hundreds of riders have (----) on this challenging 180- degree curve, perhaps showing off for spectators, who often gather here. Other succumb safely to the charm of "The Snake." "
Thanks for watching!
For some reason I really like that thing. I've been riding and racing bikes since I was 10yrs old so, I do love my bikes...but there is something about that enclosed bike that I really think is pretty cool
I think the big problem from a selling point is. It doesn't have 3 wheels so it can't be rode in cold rain slick roads or light snow. If it was 3 wheels like the Piaggio mp3 & enclosed. It could be used year round. Use 2 wheels up front that can lean like Piaggio mp3 & Yamaha Tricity. Maybe for extra safety, instead of pop out training wheels. Use some frame sliders wheels. If it tips over too far, it lands on the side wheels.
I've been aware of the MonoTracer for a while, but this is the first video I've seen of it in a corner. Very cool.
And I'm sitting here in Europe with snow outside, waiting for the fucking winter to be over, so I can ride again...
***** Where do you live?
Don´t even have snow here but rain and +5°C :/
iCuCS
Same problem here in The Netherlands. No snow but 5°C and my bike has been put away for the winter.
mexico: the perfect whater, but the worst roads , and expensive motorcycles :c
If we only even had snow ... damn this winter blows.
4:15 - when you are way too stoned to remember what bike you're on 😅
Jumping street bikes is way more fun than it should be haha
4:13 He Made Me Laugh So Hard
4:00
What a trooper. That guy deserves a medal of some sort for succeeding where he should have failed.
LordAugastus yeah but no superman backflip.
@@batvette .
I have been having RNM withdrawal, I am so happy to see you put up another video. And I like that you cover everything up there, not just the sport bikes, though they are my favorite.
That R1 at the start was just brilliant :D
indeed, like a boss
Anyone know who he is? I've seen him in several videos and he is fantastic!
@@ozzy541 he is going really fast, really stable. From what I can see real decent lines.
2nd gen r1 still the best looking after all these years
Oh damn not one crash! Decided to cut the crashers a break in this one!
Wow, those wheels pop up really fast.
the very first guy getting airborne between twisties... giant balls
and few brains
power wheelies are a scary thing
That bloke dirt biking his super sport lol fucking legend
01:50 damn that's beautiful!
Damn that mono tracer corners hard 😂
😂😂😂😂
This very well might be the best channel on RUclips. That guy on the Smokin' Joe 600 at the end was hilarious!
Always fun to see how super modern vehicles are made from very old bits and pieces! See the mirrors, they are from a BMW k100RS from the 80's!!!
I would love to have a go in one of those MonoTracers, they’ve been around for about 25+yrs, the new ones are electric.
They cost €80,000 Euros, that would be about $100k
Awesome camera work! I want to visit that place so bad!
***** Thanks Jeff.. you are definitely welcome anytime.
Yeah, that is something on my must-do list. I'm only a few hours from L.A. I'd like to see Mulholland Drive too, because I've seen it so much on TV shows like Adam 12, CHiPs, Emergency, etc.
+TAOFLEDERMAUS WoW i didn't knew you liked RNickeyMouse too! Yeah a collab would be awesome!
I went there twice and only saw old guys going slow on harlys
love your vids btw
Rnikey's video titles are so exciting!
The skillz are high in this video! very amazing watch!
Great vid, love the swivel chair at the end, that how you get the smooth panning images? Would love to see a vid of your gear!
I used it for about a month but am pretty smooth without it
I've been using a steady gimble for the gopro, works really well. Nothing wrong with your vids though you are the man!
Man that Monotracer looks pretty damn cool
To tell you the truth man , I think that's more or less where we're headed
Crazy Aces Now i dont know if i am ready for that just yet
Sea Tac Assassin none of us are
That Monotracer was build in my Hometown in Switzerland, proud to see it in US driving around.
I imagine it would feel like flying a jet fighter in that thing.
Looks like the Duke 990 at one point. Sounded very good.
0:42 cop approachs a blind corner almost completely in oncoming going way over the limit.
Glad to know that the cops are looking out for our *_safety_* and aren't just trying to give people tickets.
What a great road to ride, I hope one day I have the chance to ride there...
Bur Ozt I had the same dream a year ago. Lived in the Midwest always watching these Mulholland videos. I decided to pull the trigger and now I live in California 10 minutes from Mulholland! :)
The cop at 0:40 attacked the shit out of the braking zone for that corner
Haha that guy at the end.... Could have been pretty embarrassing with all those cameras around. Reminds me of that guy in one of Jake TheGardenSnake's videos that offroaded (did jumps) on an SV650.
I remember that lol.
What video was that ive been trying to find that!
Thanks!
Adrastos34 He actually climb the hill and dropped the bike on the way up, too painful to watch so I left it out
RNickeyMouse Must post it anyway?
The way that things side wheels suck up when it starts going made me laugh. Looks so fun
That guy in the end... LOOL!
Can't wait for spring to come in!!
Excellent video, RNickey! One of the best I've seen on your channel. Then this 4:01 put the icing on the cake! Laughed my head off.
that gromb keeping up with the big boys, love it man xD
Rnicky gets some interesting stuff, that enclosed bike would be strange to ride in, good to see the guy lean it over.
The R1 at the beginning is awesome.
drifter13
I love seeing naked bikes keeping up with the clip on boys
Me too, I have an older air cooled bike that was never anything besides naked haha. I rip that thing hard and easily keep up with modern bikes. It's much easier to throw around than twitchy crotch rockets IMO
In the winter, I turn off my monitor and play the audio from these vids while I fall asleep.
Thats what the pope would ride if he could
🤣🤣
And it would be white and yellow with Saint Peter's keys on the side.
Wanted * lol 😂
I call shenanigans on the girls being mid corner. mid corner on the most crashed corner. Edwards. I can't prove it, but I don't need to. Target fixated rider's cause themselves to crash, crashes get views. Shenanigans.
Love this channel. The photo/video work is excellent.
Not as many Ducatis as I was hoping to see but still an awesome video.
I love that mono tracer. One concern I'd have with it is if you drop it. I saw a RUclips video with someone learning to ride (drive?) one of those and she dropped it. It took a few people to get it back up again. If I would ever drop my Honda (I did when I first got it) I was able to pick up on my own (~575 lbs). That's not a big problem. With that thing I seems you may be stuck till someone else does the good Samaritan thing and offers some help.
Nope... You can call a uber and ask the driver to help and then cancel the ride...
that 2014 ninja is awesome!
well i am impressed at last some people who know how to ride, so many on here come off at the guard rail and all and sundry offer up all sorts of excuses for them, they ride way out of their capability is the real reason , but the guys at the start are real bike riders, note their lines in and out of the corners, class act fellas, and the one where he is scraping the pegs , so what he feels and thats bike riding so many hear a peg scrape and sit up , of course they come off , the ones on the off road bikes they can get around the bend where those on bikes that you should be able to race around a race track at twice the speed ,yet they hit the guard rail sorry for no other reason than they are way out of their bike riding capability, again impressed with most of these fellas for class and knowing how to ride.
I've watched quite a few of these Mulholland drive videos , what a place !! Wow !!
I can't get over what a perfect hill climb it is... If you get to ride there you are a lucky son of a gun
,
bring on the summer 2015
Adam Stratford क्ष् xxx
Adam Stratford क्षचचचचचचचच
Nice to see guys that who how to ride..
That monotracer was built 50m from my flat in Winterthur. No proof right now, but its true.
タイプの違うバイク乗りが 思い切り楽しんでる 気持ちの良いVIDEOですね!
旭日RiderJapanese
The thing has no scrapes or skid marks on it sides! It’s definitely a solid Tron bike.
lol that guy on the looks like cbr 600 f3 going off the jumps in the dirt is crazy lol, funny as hell
looks like an R8 that got stepped on by Godzilla....
Keep up the good work on your videos, Happy Holidays RNickeyMouse

Thumbs up
Your videos are getting real smooth and sharp images man, using a stabilizer?
That roads on my bucket list
I love the KTM part
That Enclosed bike is at once so cool and yet so dumb, I'm conflicted.
+Chivas6 _ its cool, you dont get sunburned, you dont get wet, you dont ruin your hairdo, you can even drive naked.
sounded horrid too...but if it were perfected could be rad
Chivas6 don't over think it its cool slow but still cool.
naked you say. .
160 mph isn't too slow;)
4:02 wtf o.O
I lived in the Los angeles area since 1993 and started Riding in 2011, I moved To My Country Two months later, and never had the Chance to come to "the snake"... but I certainly will.... some Day.....Love ur Videos BTW.. greetings from Baja, Mexico

that zx10 sounds brilliant
Your best. Great riding and NO Mayhem.
I saw one of these enclosed bikes in France last year, very similar looking but it was an old model probably from the 80's.
Monotracer looks crazy :P
2:04 EXCUSE ME? IT DOES NOT!
Estas demonstrações só deveriam ser feitas em lugares destinados à este fim. Shalon.
There are already enclosed motorcycles. They are called cars. 😮

lopon12 Everything is shot on weekends, road is mostly deserted on weekdays
Hi nickey " Nice Video man
Easy on the zoom, RMickey Mouse! Back it off for better quality. You need a tripod if you're going for the John Ford look. You should have known.
Hi I just ended up here to check if what I saw from the other site is real
@2:08 a motorcycle rider asks how does this it balance?!?!? REALLY C'mon you of all people?
... and his buddy saying, "Yeah?" Facepalm.
***** Thanks for your comment. As an engineer I actually have a good understanding of the math and physics behind the forces that keep a motorcycle balanced. As a new rider it’s my confidence in, and understanding of, that knowledge that allows me to feel comfortable pushing myself and my bike in corners.
I also ride with a group of people who have significant experience on the track with several of them being instructors. They formed the group for the sole purpose of building a community of serious performance riders and to mentor new riders. This kind of question would probably never be heard in our group simply because they work with new members and riders to ensure they know the basics and then try and grow them as riders from there. This is the only “new rider” experience I know so anything other than that seems a bit foreign to me.
***** After having designed several computers I can confidently say, Yes, I understand how computers work. (That probably wasn't the best example you could have picked.) ;-) But I do understand where you're going with that. As engineers it's in our nature to try and understand that which we don't understand, otherwise we'd go into sales and marketing.
I wasn't specifically going for the "mocking them" thing, my expression was more shock and surprise that the question was asked. I'm also a teacher at heart and I feel disappointment and frustration when I see a teaching moment like that go by and there's nothing I can do. From what you're writing my new rider experience seems pretty different from what the majority of other riders experience.
Mulholland seems to attract riders of all types and skill levels, and tourists alike. It seems like it would lend itself well to creating an environment where knowledge could be passed on. I don't know the social dynamic out there so who knows. Finally, yes, there is a bit of mocking going on. If you're out there, even spectating, you're an enthusiast on some level and I'd think you'd want to learn a little bit about what's going on. You've got to be out there for more than just wanting to watch the pretty colors going by.

I know this was years ago now and you might have realized since then, but it doesn't balance exactly like a normal motorcycle does. There is a large gyroscope inside that does all of the balancing, and when rotated, it will cause the vehicle to lean. If you look inside, you can see that the rider cannot lean to turn like on a normal motorcycle.
looks like a plane without wings :D
Great RNickey!!!!
LOL! The cop nearly hit the bread truck by doing the same thing he was chasing the bike for.
Nice, vid as usual +RNickeyMouse but something is strange with video resoultion or frame rate... like the fps is changing in some shots?
Ranko Frka A few shots were originally 4K 30fps
Yeah, thanks.. we are still using some oldschool monitors over here :D
That bike was on a old top gear video loojs so coool
Wow! Fantastic bike!!
Pros: safe.
Cons: less fun than regular bikes, can't be modified, no sounds, expensive, rare to get.
this monotracer is neat
Looks like the Audi R8, and if I could get one right now I would.
Those guys can ride!
Thanks bro! Another great video.
This mono tracer is best suitable for Indian conditions
Nice video
The guy at 3:55 looks like Keith Code with his triumph and clear helmet. Who knows, maybe "twist of the wrist III" is in the making.
umm... thats a ducati monster.
