An animated film version of this would be epic!
That's what I thought was planned.
But no.
@@jsl151850b yea that's also what I thought! I'm disappointed, but it's still awesome
@@matthiasmajoris4029 I agree. Replacing live-action Ghostbusters with their animated counterparts would definitely be truly epic.
Then do the same with GB2 then GB Afterlife.
I would like to see this released.
That would be the most successful cartoon of all time.
Looks amazing.
Only issue is the real Ghostbusters wouldn't have their coloured flight-suits since they didn't get them until after they busted Gozer
Hey! I’m the artist. I actually do variant versions of the Citizen Ghost episode accurate jumpsuits
@@FartParty Great! Want to say nice work.
I did want to do something similar to this in comic form, but I never got round to it and I'm not the best comics artist in the world.
Looking forward to what you come up with. 👍
Exactly
good shout
@@Mike-uh5xl Honestly, I’m just one guy. An animated film would require a whole animation studio.
I always wanted to see a series being made closer to Dan Aykroyd's vision. With Winston being involved from the beginning and being a former marine and stuff like that.
I would literally love to see the whole entire 1984 film animated with the animated voice actors
The art work is amazing! If they made this as an animated film too, I would of definitely watched it also just like the original live action film.
Thanks!
The way the shots of the original film were drawn to perfectly fit into the 4:3 aspect ratio is one of many impressive details. Hopefully someone in RUclips-land can help you turn the Ghostbuster II comic book into a motion comic. I think fans would love it.
The RGB art style works quite well for this.
this is some of the best Ghostbusters fan art I've ever seen
Egon is was and always will be my favorite ghostbuster. Both in the movies and show.
Really Really Cool!!! If this was a full length movie I would definitely BUY It!!!!
This is especially cool when you conaider that the movie is cannon to the cartoon as a bloated Hollywood telling of one of their first, if not very first, adventures. Story as i remember it is that ray says they got a lot wrong. Also canno to the cartoon is them switching from the movie suits to the "Real" suits ends up with them fighting ectoplasmic doppelgangers because once they switched after defeating Gozer, they forgot aboit those suits and the leftover slime and stuff reanimates them as ghost versions of the guys.
I feel weird I missed those early episodes despite seeing almost every episode after that, I never knew the 'origin' of how they got the cartoon series started.
We really should have gotten a feature length movie of The Real Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe got one, Transformers got one, even the Care Bears got one, it's just sad to me that arguably the best Saturday morning cartoon of it's era didn't get this treatment.
@buck342443 And did you know that Thundercat's Ho a movie which was planned to hit the big screen was cancelled at the last minute due to the Transformers movie from 1986 not doing well at the box office. Many have said seeing the death of Optimus Prime traumatized children. So the Thundercat's movie was then reedited into 5 parts and aired on television instead! 🤔📺🎥⏰
Has an animated series based on a movie ever gotten a feature length animated movie? Batman TAS doesn't count since that's probably more based on the comics, even tho it had the same theme as the Burton movies.
I'd pay top dollar to see the first and second Ghostbusters movie re-animated in the style of the cartoon. :D
Ahhh! I had that first issue as a kid. Totally forgot about this. It was a gem!
This is pretty bloody weird, but absolutely amazing! It's a shame Mr. Music isn't still with us, as I'd love it if this got a little fake trailer or something with Music, LaMarche, Welker and Hall returning, or even just dropping some lines over your lovely, lovely images!
And that rock cover of the "title theme" from the orignal film is SOMETHING ELSE!
Love the Donatello and Egon mashup pic on the website
Thanks!!!
I got super excited because I misunderstood and thought they were going to do a full animated movie 😔
Well, I’m putting it out as an art book. Best I can do for now. Don’t worry, it will not disappoint!
Would have loved to seen the Real GB's fending off Stay Puft. "1, 2, 3, roast him!" Comes to mind. Either way, I LOVE this. Such a cool idea
Are you sure it isn't "blast em!"? I thought so.
Don’t worry, it’s coming! I’m about halfway through this project
Ooooo! What awesomeness have I stumbled upon?! ❤️❤️❤️
This is amazing.
This is actually pretty cool. Maybe we could also see new ghosts that the team busted that didn't make the cut for the 1984 movie.
I went to the site, they even have afterlife in the same theme. Phoebe looks great in RGB style.
Thanks!!!!
@@FartParty you're welcome, can't wait to see the rest of the team in that style. Lucky, Trevor and Podcast.
Cool!👻🚫🙏🤌
Wow, thats absolutely amazing. So well done! I´d read that comic!
When you said "With the cast of the animated series", I really thought you somehow got the VAs to come in and voice over some of the movie scenes with these background shots. Still, this was very cool!
This looks cool and I really love the first two Ghostbusters films and the cartoon series
Awesome 🤩👍⭐️👻❤️💚
I remember the references Real Ghostbusters made to the movies..like the uniforms being infused with ghost energy from Gozer and coming to life after they switched to the two-tones, and the episode where they went to see the movie made about their exploits (and commented on the casting for Venkman, IIRC.. :-) )
Yep! I’m the artist and I actually do variant versions of these illustrations in the movie (and Citizen Ghost episode of Real Ghostbusters) accurate suits.
Remember that citizens first time I saw the anime tied in with the actual movie itself which was impressive and explains what happened after the events when he got back to the Firehouse it would make much more sense to change the real reason they didn't want to pay the actors the use of likeness in the anime
Stunning
❤️
I have always considered, the animated series, as a sort of parallel dimension, compared to the films but it is, however, very interesting.
The film is cannon to the cartoon. The film is a feature length reimagining of one of the Real Ghostbusters first adventures But i believe Ray says they got a lot of stuff wrong (this explaining why they look so different in the film compared to what they "Really" look like in the cartoon). I think there is even an episode which further explains that they get back from busting Gozer, their suits are trashed and they throw them somewhere, forget about them, and just start with the colorful ones (begining the cartoon series). Later the residual ecoplasm on the disregarded movie suits reanimate and they have to fight ectoplasmic doppelgangers of themselves in the all brown flight suits from the film.
I may be mixing 2 different episodes but all that i mentioned def' happend in the cartoon at some point.
I so would've loved to see an animated remake of the 1984 Ghostbusters film done in the style of The Real Ghostbusters.
Of course, Peter, Ray, Egom, and Winston would've worn the beige uniforms in it before changing to the color-coded uniforms since that how it was seen in the Season 1 episode "Citizen Ghost".
And speaking of which, I wonder why the illustrations of them wearing the beige uniforms wasn't used for this video instead.
I had the Real Ghostbusters adaptation of Ghostbusters 2 book as a child.
I got into the cartoon first before i saw the 1st movie.
so did i.
It would be so awesome to see the first gb movie in the real gb version.
"Tell him about the Twinkie." "What about the Twinkie?"
That's amazing
So looking forward to seeing that that is going to be awesome
What would have to happen to make this a fully-animated feature film? I would be glad to add this to my collection, even/especially if it were a shot-for-shot remake of the original starring the Real Ghostbusters!
Wouldn't that be kind of a neat conundrum? A feature-length animated film of the original Ghostbuster starring the Real Ghostbusters, but also knowing that there was that episode of the Real Ghostbusters where there was a feature-length film made of them featuring footage of the actual film?
I would need an entire animation studio haha
I’d love to see this animated
Love this! I have the RGB/GB II comics and they’re great.
Love your channel!
All of you HAVE to check out Sorrentino's site! He actually did Real Ghostbusters versions of some scenes from Afterlife, and they look AMAZING!
All he has to do now is recreate some stuff from Ghostbusters: The Video Game, and I can die a happy man.
Thank you!!! And I definitely definitely plan on doing some scenes from the game, don’t worry!!! I’m dying to draw RGB style packs with those game additions to them!
Outstanding idea. I can't wait to get this comicbook
As someone who grew up with the cartoon, i watched the movie 6-7 years later.
And when i saw Bill Murray, i thought "That is the handsome Peter Venkman !?"
Very cool. 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
Yes. I go with what most people are commenting and requesting here. Give us the full recreation animated version of this, and we will be the happiest fans in the world.
Agreed, but I’m just one guy. I would need an entire animation studio to make a feature length animated film
And we know it's technically cannon. As one of the ghostbuster episodes , had their original jumpsuits covered in marshmallow ectoplasm come to life and start hunting them down.
Dam, that's pretty good!
I hope they make a shot for shot remake of the movie using the Real Ghostbusters characters
Chris J. Sorrentino made the conversion of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon into a film picture book as a passion project? That's real damn good! I'm impressed with what he did there!
But can he do it the OTHER way around? As in making the Real Ghostbusters cartoon into a live action TV series as a follow-up passion project sequel even though both Harold Ramis and Ivan Reitman are both in the afterlife together?
I can do anything hahahha
Doesn’t mean I would want to do that though
I've always imagined what this would be like...although there'd have to be some language changes..."the power grid was shut off by..." also it'd be cool to hear the haim saban diddies with the score.
This would make a fantastic comic based on the movie
I just cant with the peter got slimed
You forgot to point out that the Twinkie shot is clearly set in the cartoon's basement.
I love this town!😂
We need to make an Real Ghostbusters Afterlife Cartoon.
Now wait a minute! I know it's a gripe but in The Real Ghostbusters episode Citizen Ghost, it takes place almost right after the events of the first movie and shows the Ghostbusters wearing their standard khaki uniforms that they had to replace due to being saturated with negative PK energy. So the different color uniforms came AFTER their fight with Gozer.
But we saw the Real Ghostbusters as from the movie in the original uniform following the battle with Gozer in the Episode Citizen Ghost.
Yes. And I also do variants of these art pieces in the movie accurate suits. It wasn’t mentioned in the video
This could be better for an animated tv movie or a Blu Ray animated release for this
I’d love to, but I’m just one guy. I’d need a whole animation studio to pull that off
Awwww hell yea
looks great. one little continuity error: the real Ghostbusters don't start using their show jumpsuits until after beating Gozer.
but I get it. it's the movie in the show's style. and like I said it looks great
Thanks! I’m the artist and I actually also do variant versions of these pieces of the boys in their Citizen Ghost/movie accurate suits!
For that comic I wish they would have put them in there khakis colored uniforms to make it fit in with The Real Ghostbusters cartoon.
Because in the episode “Citizen Ghost” it was shown they all had the same uniform until there new ones showed up after their confrontation with Gozer. A nitpick, I know. 😂
I’m the artist. I actually do variant versions of these illustrations of them in the movie accurate suits
@@FartParty Great Work! I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear, I was actually talking about the comic series from way back.
I do realize that if they would have done that in those original comics most kids would have been why are they not wearing the correct uniforms.
As an artistic choice I think putting them in the multi-colored uniforms is better.
I am looking forward to seeing more Real Ghostbusters from you.
I love the cartoon. I missed out on the box set time life release so long ago I want a rerelease of the box set with all episodes
God, can't they do this as a full comic book adaptation? The company doing the comics now should publish it. This art is amazing.
Nobody is doing the comics now unfortunately. IDW lost the license last year.
@@FartParty Damn, what's going on at IDW? I know they're losing G.I. Joe this year too.
Yep. At Transformers this year too
I wonder if they made a conscious decision to have the characters wear their RG flight suits with their brighter colors? They should have worn the movie style ones since those original suits became hosts for ghost duplicates due to Peter's improper disposal of the suits and a leak of Ecto energy from the containment unit (plus the leftover marshmallow slime).
Hi, I’m the artist. Yes, it was a conscious decision since most people only recognize the cartoon jumpsuits with the cartoon designs, but I do offer variant versions of my art of the boys in their movie accurate jumpsuits
@@FartParty thanks for that and most excellent work!
Thanks!!!
I wish the iconic cartoon villains were in the movie
Just a suggestion, and if there already is one that exists forgive me, but I was wondering wouldn't it be cool to see a large hardback book full of Ghostbusters fan art from fans? It can be organized in order by when the releases of the movies and the animated shows came out, or just a book in general with no order just some of the coolest fan art out there. I think that would be amazing!
I remember the real ghostbusters season 1 was so dark for its time.
@Dipet Forever and by season 3 on ABC Q5 would change all that changing the title to Slimer And The Real Ghostbusters and expanding the show to an hour and making it more kid friendly and less scary. Focusing more on Slimer and Janine's ever changing look throughout the remainder of the series. 👻🚫🧐😔
@@SuperMarioBrosIII yeah you’re totally right.
Nice
Continuity in the I start out in the bass jumpsuits and then use citizens ghost Egon Spengler justification makes a lot
we wish if you gotta make Ghostbusters the video game proton pack in the future
I've thought about this for years, it would be awesome if the original was re-released as an episode of RGB :D
I love the concept, but as the Real Ghostbusters episode "Citizen Ghost" showed, the Ghostbusters wore the grey jumpsuits during the events depicted in the original film. These suits were contaminated with excess PKE and were supposed to be destroyed by Venkman and replaced with the suits we saw in the Real Ghostbusters series. The creator making this adaptation should have stuck with the same designs as well.
Hi, I’m the artist. I actually do variant versions of these pieces of the guys in their movie/citizen ghost accurate suits
He’s done some drawings of Janine too!!!
Venkman's initial testing, at the beginning of the movie, doesn't seem nearly as sketchy, when you notice that the theme of his research was showing a connection between NEGATIVE reinforcement & ESP performance. The guy that got shocked seemed to be getting improved results, while the girl always seemed way off, in spite of Venkman constantly praising her.
It was such a huge let down, seeing "Ghostbusters" in the TV logs, but then seeing a gorilla, a robot villain, and seeing nothing familiar in the show. Also the show had a pretty He-Manish G-rated feel. With that environment, The Real Ghostbusters was the most anticipated & cool cartoon ever, for its time.
At least the Filmation's Ghostbusters had a kickass theme song! Jason even used it for the background in some of his videos.
Yeah, it grew on me. It even had some interesting stories,, once I got used to its kid friendliness & the PSA's. Like He-Man, it devoted a large part of the show to the transformation/power-up sequence, but the time travel & extra dimensional travel was kinda cool. Even the Ghost Buggy had some cool features. *High Fives for all*
While these are all extremely well done, I've got a minor nitpick. In RGB they explain their new jumpsuits were ordered due to having to get rid of the originals, which were all the same kaki colored suits. Covered in so much of Gozer's marshmallow they had to be destroyed. So with the screens of them in GB1 having the two toned suits is kind of inaccurate. Then again it's about putting the RGB guys as we knew them into the movies proper so I get it.
I actually do variant pieces in their movie accurate suits!
@@FartParty Well then you're awesome for thinking ahead!
I've wanted to read "The Real Ghostbusters Starring in Ghostbusters II" for years, but haven't been able to find a decent copy outside of a fairly expensive omnibus.
Illlogical since they explained the uniform change/difference in "Citizen Ghost".
I want to see the movies as cartoons
My boys...
I would also like to see GB Afterlife get the same treatment.
Hi, I’m the artist and I actually have done a few Afterlife pieces too
@@FartParty Where?
I don't think Welker smokes. : \
Who knows, but Ray does in that scene, so that’s how I illustrated it
Ghostbusters
since all of the real ghostbuster's cast but one since dave took over from lou. would be great to see an animated film versions of all three TRUE movies. THE REMAKE i feel is PARALLEL UNIVERSE AND NONSENSE
When TRGB premiered in 1986 I was so young I thought they ran out of brown(I thought it was done with paint,I was 5) so they made Egon blonde🤦🏻♂️
I watch the original first and then the cartoons later LOLOL.
When will this comic be available for purchase?
The ghostbusters wore the beige colored coveralls canonically in the show from the movies and transitioned to the multicolored coveralls because the marshmallow was demonically possessed by ghozer and became the evil ghostbusters so them wearing the multicolored coveralls in a recreation of the film in a comic makes no sense.
Thanks for your input. I’m the artist that does these pieces and I also do variant pieces of them in their movie accurate suits for people like you, don’t worry. Got ya covered 👍🏻
I really wish you would get Winston's name right. It's Zed-de-more, not Zed-more.🤦♂️
They should have the original actors play their roles. U know Egon isi not easy to replace. Lord rest Harold Ramis soul.
HIIII
Audio comics of the Ghostbusters
I'm confused, why didn't they use the citizen ghost episode flashback uniform scenes in the comic issues during movie one and two books? am I overthinking this or what?
I’m the artist that does these pieces and I also make variant versions of the guys in their movie/citizen ghost accurate suits
@@FartParty nice. Um I think I'm still confused.im really sorry if I'm either not making sense or if I'm sounding a bit rude in some way or another.
Yeah, I think that you are a little confused…
Ok, so back in ‘89, Now Comics did a comic book adaptation of GB2, we’re on the same page there. As to why they weren’t depicted in movie accurate suits, I can only guess because The Real Ghostbusters had already been established, so they took artistic liberties…
There was no comic adaptation of the first film. What I am doing here is adapting scenes from the first film into just illustrations in the Real Ghostbusters style. When this project is completed, it will then be compiled into an art book featuring 40 different scenes…
I then also feature two versions of each scene where the boys are suited up. One in their RGB-style suits, and the other in their movie-style suits. I do this because some people (obviously) are sticklers for “continuity”.
@@FartParty okay I see. would it be wrong of me to put blame on the writers of that episode citizen ghost(lolz?) where the start of the flashback scenes are of them in their matching GB1 suits which was pretty much the only thing that matched up but you know later after the start of that that flashback Janine tells them that their suits had arrived before they went to go fight gozer so they were presented at that time after coming back from that job with the new different colored RGB ver. suits.
No, I don’t think that you need to put any blame on anyone, it’s just different interpretations of the characters from different writers/creative teams. Contradictions of canon/continuity occur in like every franchise, it’s just the nature of the beast when multiple creators work on the same property. I think it’s all good and anyone can enjoy whatever piece of it they’d like and not get mad at others that maybe hold onto a particular piece of canon that maybe means more to them than it does to others and maybe those people should not get mad at minor inconsistencies and just have fun and enjoy the entertainment
Somebody should make a voice dub
While cool, it breaks the lore. There is an episode of the real ghostbusters that explains why they are wearing the two toned flight suits due to Gozer's psychic energy. Also, this is why the ghostbusters had navy blue flight suits in the sequel
I’m the artist, and I do variants of each piece of the guys in their movie/citizen ghost accurate suits.
Mind you....................... it was SHAVING CREAM! NOT MELTED MARSHMALLOW! Hot melted Marshmallows would cause 3rd degree burns and a trip to the hospital.
“Okay, important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.”
But even in the cartoons they wore the OG costumes
soooooooo would he also do rays dream at fort detmerring? :)
Hahahahaha. It’s not planned right now, sorry
@@FartParty ahhh its not ghostbusters without rays dream :). still i'am greatley looking forward to it :)
I agree, I unfortunately had to narrow it down to 40 scenes and it just didn’t make the cut. Just really ones that move the narrative forward. If I have some time, I’ll try to do it and throw it up on my site, I promise
@@FartParty oh wooooooow your the guy who does the pictures?? awwww its an honor to meet you man. what your doing is fantastic and kind of a dream come true. i look forward to it and i hope you do an adaptation of the video game one day :) " I love this TOOOOOOWN" !!!!
Thanks so much. Great to meet you too! I’m actually planning on doing GB2 next, then maybe the game or at least touching on it. I’d love to do a video game pack but in the Real Ghostbusters style!
Don't cross the strea m s!
I want a reebot of the franchise with new actors looking as the real ghostbusters!, man that would be so awesome!
