You have to give Ernie Hudson lot of credit he has been promoting the franchise Ghostbusters for years. Jason reitman stated this in an interview when the new movie was released a few months ago.
Don't bet on it! He's made it clear that he's not interested in doing cameos. Hint, why he wasn't in Afterlife. He said for him to possibly come back, he would have to have a bigger role with more air time for him to even put in the effort.
My main thing to see would be Oscar as a GB, L. Tully attorney at law, who the mother of egons daughter. A newer version of extreme ghostbusters would be cool... have it be a unsolved case from the OG days.. have Winston's and ray talk about the one case that scared egon or Peter so much that they couldn't solve it amd the entity got away... boom, enter sandman and/or Samhain!
I would love to see Samhain as the main baddie in the new film. Him as the villain would be a great way to make the animated series canyon within the films and him alone could have the power to summon a whole bunch of other ghosts for the new team to BUST!!!!!
There's lots of things I would love to see in the Afterlife sequel. Here are some of them: Dana Barrett as a Ghostbuster Rick Moranis making a cameo as Louis Tully The original Ghostbusters interacting with the new cast, maybe training them while giving some homages to the cartoons A new villain, maybe involving the Ivo Shandoor cult A nod to Vigo the Carpatian Winston reviving the Ghostbusters and possibly opening other branches aside from the New York branch

Just please no more of the tired plot thread of the Ghostbusters have gone out of business yet again and have to reform to take on a new threat. Let’s just hit the ground running in this one. The kids are attending Columbia university during the day, ghostbusting by night. Winston and Ray and Grooberson oversee and mentor the younger group. Phoebe and Ray have upgraded the tech. Easy Peasy
I would love to see more Phoebe and Podcast. They had such a great friendship and I could see them as the backbone of the new team. Plus I'd love to see more Paul Rudd.
We need to move on. We need an all new cast. Grace and Kim were fantastic but everyone else was replaceable. Grace and Kim could be running the NY HQ while the other two are running an LA HQ. Give us a new HQ in a new city where the new employees have been trained and are ready to go. Give us a mystery, horror Ghostbusters.
My idea for Afterlife 2, have Vigo's painting become a time portal, and they take part in the origin/demise of human-Vigo, and connect the time loop "Back To The Future 3" style.

Yes great idea but it’s time to leave those characters in the past and explore new ones with great gadgets and technology in different settings and rich stories and lore to tell .

I've got this idea where Phoebe is off to college... in New York (Egon's Alma Mater)... She gets introduced to the New York team that Winston has put together. Something happens and she has to call in the Summerville Team to save the New York team. Okay... it's actually a story idea I'm fanficing... but still... I think the idea is sound. (and cool) It also gives a launch-point for other GB movies that start to follow other teams as well.
I want to see Ivo Shandor but In his Ghost/Demonic Form from the video game, Return of Oscar where he's a Ghostbuster & still owns the Ecto-1A. Since Ecto-1 & Ecto-1A are separate vehicles of same model car brand.

Jason in the director`s chair: ✅ The movie being a sequel to Afterlife✅ Slimer:✅ Winston and Ray as mentors✅ Oscar Barrett✅ Vigo❌ Gozer✔he`s a god, he was trapped, not desintegrated like Vigo. Maybe discovering he was also a pawn of other gods. More Gozer lore, but not onscreen apparition. A final threat that is the root of all supernatural and the Ghostbusters defeat it, cleaning the world from ghosts once and for all.✅
They should bring in Erik Burnham from IDW comics. He's done a great job continuing the franchise and introducing new characters with great voices in the comic series.
My top 5: 1. No legacy ghosts. Bringing back Gozer was okay, but bringing back Slimer or any others from the past seems like nothing but fan service 2. Old Tech. There is really no reason to upgrade the tech. The slime blowers in GB2 already took away from classic proton packs. What we need is classic gear actually used. 3. Get rid of everyone new in Afterlife except Phoebe. There is no reason why any of them would move away from that town. Let Phoebe go live with Ray to "learn the ropes" 4. No backstory. We don't need to know every detail of every character. Tully was an accountant. Good enough. This is the "Star Wars" mentality where everything has to be explained and related to everything. Not needed. 5. Let the OG Ghostbusters be involved and pass on years of knowledge, but then become mentors. You have to allow your heroes to have their final duel. Afterlife sort of did that, but it didn't feel like they used years of experience, the whole thing felt tiny. Bonus: Don't "Force Awakens" the movie. Afterlife was great, but it has so many callbacks that it started to feel like a huge fan service. We don't need that anymore. We don't need a billion easter eggs. Tell an original story that will stand on its own and let it succeed on its own merits.
I do NOT want Vigo to come back. I loved GB2, but we don't need Ghostbusters falling into the same pit as the Star Wars universe by rehashing old story lines and calling it "new." There is a wealth of material to draw from to make actual new movies. Keep the new team as the focus. Bring back any legacy actors who want to come back. Winston as the leader would be fantastic. Slimer as the firehouse "pet" would be cool. Tully making a cameo needs to happen.
Would love to see the new busters blast it out against the sandman or the boogieman. And maybe Oscar makes joins the ghostbusters. They are all trained by Winston, Venkman, and Louis Tully. Maybe the containment unit malfunctions somehow when Phoebe runs tests on it and all the ghost escape on Halloween. And maybe NYC is put into a trance on Halloween, splitting the dimensions.

Further explanation of how ghosts, demons, heaven, hell, various relationships work. 4. Make Vigo a Hannibal Lecter like character. They talk to him through the painting, and he advises them, but also tried to manipulate them. Secondary antagonist. 5. Hire comedy writers who can make it funny, original, and not full of references.
I want to see the Sapngler Family agen in the next GB movie i love the new charaters from afterlife Phoebe is my new favorite and maby slime blowers to return and with orignal ghostbusters with Ray Winston to and maby the return Vigo the carpathian and slimer cant for get about him but mostly the Spangler Family to Return.
It would be cool to see a focus on a "team" again, maybe just like the original, see them build up their ghostbusting tech and business acumen. Some "new hires" with new personalities would be cool, I don't think we need to just focus on the previous movies characters. Say Winston develops a new team, Phoebe can be as Egon was, the main tech person, develop more gadgets and maybe even see some funny setbacks. Podcast is cool, but I don't see how he can remain relevant if they move out of the town. I honestly DO NOT wanna see more teenage angst combined with ghostbusters though, sorry lol You can have a side story like that, but the main story should really be more ghostbusters team fighting trapping and investigating in a more "professional" way.
I’d love to see the Spengler family move to NYC. Winston funds the Ghostbusters prepping to go back in business, and hires Ray to be like a hands-on supervisor/trainer, much like Egon was in Extreme Ghostbusters. We see Phoebe developing a lot of new tech but at odds with her mom, who feels she’s too young to get out in the field to bust ghosts. Mr. Gruberson is in NYC too because he’s dating Callie & they don’t want to split. I’d say somewhere near the end of the movie, he suits up to bust ghosts and proposes to Callie. And maybe Trevor joins the team too as the new Bill Murray character. I’d say they could ask Bill to be part of the movie but if he refuses, doesn’t get back to them or wants too much money, then just move on from Bill & the Venkman character. I feel the franchise is strong enough that it doesn’t need him anymore, although having him would always be welcome too.

Definitely think they should bring back Paul Rudd, McKenna Grace and Logan Kim particularly, set it in New York, try to include original cast as much as is possible, including slimer!
I wasn't really all that concerned with the lack of answers about Phobie and Trevor's dad or Callie's mom. They didn't really go into any of the guys personal lives in the old movies, with the arguable exception of Venkman and his flirtations with Dana. Looking back we can just assume they all had home lives that just weren't explored in the original movies because they weren't important to the plot. As for what I'm hoping for in Afterlife II, I just hope we get a fresh threat instead of another rehash. If Afterlife had a weakness, it's that they had to go back to the Gozer well. It was alright as a reintroduction to the universe, but I thought Gozer was pretty well wrapped up back in '84 and another sequel should give us something new. Much as I like GBII, I don't want to see Viggo return. I'd rather get a new baddie for the new team to fight.
I had thought a while back that the Boogey Man would've been a great villain to adapt to a GB film with the original guys. Focused one case than saving NY/"the world" again
Whats funny is the GB equipment were so far ahead of their time in 84 that the still work in today's setting, being shop/purpose built equipment. I bet if they cleaned up like new in the movie it would look just as good. Yes some game upgrades would be nice, still keeping the OG look and feel. The trap is still the trap and I would like to see some containment system action.

Reopening and expanding the ghostbusters organization 3. Ghost designs from the animated series and toy lines 4. More backstory as to what was happening with the Ghostbusters in the 1990s/2000s 5. Callie’s parents What I wanna see in future films (if there’s gonna be more); 1. The Ghostbusters organization expanding into a global enterprise 2. Violent, bloody and more dangerous ghostbusting sequences 3. Stories about the Ghostbusters helping ghosts with unfinished business and ghosts helping Ghostbusters with cases 4. A build up to making Tempus from Extreme Ghostbusters the main villain of the series (a GB Thanos) 5. Introductions of fan favorite characters; like Kylie Griffin, Brian Welsh, etc
1. Bring back Ecto Cooler in real life PERMANENTLY. 2. Bring back Slimer as their friend/mascot like in The Real Ghostbusters. 3. Expand the team a little. My wish list: 1) having a updated cast brought by Winston…. We could have a derivation from Extreme Ghostbusters… Kylie, Eduardo… I would like them to have a non ghostbusters with them… like a psychic lady like in poltergeist.. 2) make it scary! With funny writing inserted in. A bit dark… with some humor. 3) I would love them to explore dimensions!!! And REVISIT HORROR STORY FILMS! Like busting Freddy Krueger! Jason! Redoing the seen from poltergeist 1982 when they get the child from the other world… I think it would be dope! I always imagine if those guys had the ghostbusters to help them. 4) INCLUDED THE FANS AS OTHER FRANCHISEES!! Make them nation wide! With shots of the North West Ghostbusters for exemple!!! ONE specific thing this upcoming movie needs to be, is a continuation/ sequel to Afterlife. The new team and main characters from Afterlife should also be included, along with AS MANY of the ORIGINAL 80's Ghostbusters as possible. Winston Zeddemore will hopefully be there, as sort of hinted in the very end of Afterlife. As much as I would love to see Ray Stantz and Peter Venkman to come back, I have a feeling that Bill Murray isn't necessarily going to be onboard anymore, but I hope I am wrong. Dan Aykroyd seems like a guy who will reprise his role as Ray, as many time as the fans keep asking him back. One more thing = JASON REITMAN.
You bring up a number a great points. I would much rather prefer a series, and not another film, personally. How cool would it be if it was set as an anthology, following different franchise chapters throughout the country, the world? Really take advantage of that Ghost Corps license? Then maybe you can cleverly combine them in some season finale where certain chapters come together and defeat a unique threat?
This may not be a popular opinion, but I thought Ghostbusters 2 Slimer was way too stiff and cartoony. I know they were trying to feed off the RGB, but I just don't think it was executed well. In the video game, I think they got him just right. My 5 things would be: 1. More backstory on Ray, Winston and Janine 2. More focus on the academics of spirits and demons/more Tobin's Spirit Guide 3. An appearance by Oscar and Yanosh 4. Introduce new franchises, maybe a reference to Extreme Ghostbusters 5. A Werechicken...that is all 😂

What do I want to see in the next Ghostbusters movie? Samhain. Set it for a Halloween 2024 release date. Make it super creative with a dash of horror like the original film. You can add in kids going trick or treating, which will give Sony an excuse to promote Halloween costumes, GB candy and various other merchandise. It's win-win! 🎃👻🚫
Ok , For me Winston and Ray need to be Mentors even if they are only supporting in small cameos. Winston re-opens The Fire House opts as Mechanic while Ray still has his Parts Store helps with Tech and Research* they don't need to be there 24/7 but help when needed and show ropes even back up as last resort. Definitely upgrade Tech from The Game and anything Ray n Egon had in development ? That Phoebie can tinker w/ Ray. Trevor n Winston can work on Maintenance and Mechanics. Podcast helps the marketing and media end through his show and Documents Jobs he's also Research. Lucky is also a member maybe doing her part as IDK maybe dealing w/ People and Clients sort as The Face of Phoebie's Team. Pulling Ghosts from Real Ghostbusters* is a great idea. I kinda think they need 1 more new addition member ? They don't have a Vackman* but a wild-card that is capable in smarts but also sturs trouble ? Someone brought to them by Peter or Winston and Ray ? He kinda doesn't want to be there but later earns his place once things start getting bad ? Maybe accidentally releases a Ghost ? Oh he's supposed to be community serves so free labor fixing The Firehouse but we find out he's an Educated / Troublemaker* .

Make it Halloween based, make Samhain the antagonist. Have reference to extreme Ghostbusters characters. And if no Samhain, make it the grundle, or master of Shadows
Mainly, I would like for them to return to the original tradition of making a high-quality comedy, rather than exploring every miniscule detail of every shot and character from every prior film. Perhaps it could be tackled by comedy film writers... I don't know, something radical like that might get me excited.
Definitely a solid list. I agree with all your points. I really love the idea of the video game upgrades being done in the movie. They were awesome in the game. If they intend on using Vigo then I would also like to see them explore what happened to *baby" Oscar. (Now in his 30's) Oscar would have grown up knowing the original ghostbusters. (likely thinking of them as uncles) He would have had plenty of experiences with them that most others wouldn't have had. It's unlikely that Oscar would have been a ghostbuster. The opportunity just wouldn't have existed for him until after Winston revitalized the business. Since we've never seen or heard of Oscar after the events of GB2 the writers can write practically anything they want about him. Oscar could be make into an interesting new character that has skills to benefit the new team with unique ties to the older team.
I dont want to see another one. AFTERLIFE Was so aweful and they reused almost everything from the original. It became very boring. If they do another one, I hope its a hard reboot without using anything from the previous movies.
Just a speculation, but maybe this is the reason why the Super Mario movie has been delayed to 2023 to have Chris Pratt involved. It would be interesting to see the Demon What or feature part of the plot both Flipside and Don’t Open til Doomsday. Maybe now they are back in New York it would make a lot of sense to go after Rick Moranis.
Would love to see Mee-Krah. Can have a similar plot to the cartoon it was in. Ray could have an online version of Tobin's spirit guide as a reference for any new Ghostbusters team. Vigo, taking if the 2009 video game is cannon, was only powerful due to shandoor and what he had done with NYC with the Gozer plan. And with that in mind Vigo could be gaining strength again and see the threat and to pass off information on Mee-krah's distructive power. Hell, Vigo could even help the ghostbuster team save the live and the dead from Mee-Krah.
I would make it take place right after graduation of the Spangler kids graduating college along with podcast so they could go to New York and be Ghostbusters with funding by Winston zeddemore and also where is Oscar Dana Barrett's baby
Podcast and his family moving to NY would be a funny sub-plot. His roots are in the small town… then moving to NY would be a real fish out of water situation. Bill can pop up briefly… as long as he behaves himself on set. Maybe this film’s villain is a bunch of smaller ghosts, like a ghost mafia that terrorizes the city by working together. 1 and 2 had a huge villain with crazy strong power. Maybe this time it’s a group that wields the power.
Backstory doesn't matter in this franchise. It should be treated like seasoning. Adding it makes it better but too much and you ruin the final product. Ghostbusters is a "threat of the week" franchise and it should be treated as such There's actually no evidence that Egon upgraded the tech between movies. All we know is that in Afterlife we see the tech doing things we never saw it do before. That gives no clue to when it was done. The RTV was made with parts that have existed since the 1970s and the same applies to the goggles taking Polaroids. So just because we didn't see the tech implemented in the earlier films doesn't mean they weren't there. It could have just been used during busts during the montages which we never saw Fun piece of headcanon, I know the tires are wrong, but I'd like to believe they're off of a 1988 Tamiya "Clod Buster"
No slimer, the only reason it was in gb2 was pressure from the studio. Need Oscar Venkman since it's assumed Peter and Dana married after gb2 and he would've adopted him and there should always be a Venkman on the ghostbusters. Paul Rudd as an actual member of the team, the introduction of Idulnas and Tiamat from the comics, and keeping with the comics Janosz still being haunted and obsessed with trying to resurrect Vigo.
Would like no rehash of any existing ghosts or villains from any of the existing movies, a new score, new tech or upgraded equipment, more and newer ectos, and more back story for all characters.
that last one was terrible. was basically a kids movie. it wasn't funny or interesting, and the sci-fi aspect was garbage. maybe Sony wants redemption of unloading the last 2 piles of the audience.
im 43 and I was surprised how they actually for once made a sequal that I could enjoy. But I didnt grew up with the cartoons or games so I have no nostigia for anything happned there. And I think there is a risk constantly bringing back the same thing as before in every way. It will not build upon the story only rehash it to much. But then again its hard to catch ligtning in a bottle twice with a different formula.

I feel like the new movie will focus on a new team recruited by winston. Think about where afterlife left off: winston taking ecto-1 back to the firehouse, the containment unit looking like its about to blow. Maybe winston needs to quickly empty out the containment unit and transfer the captured ghosts to some larger containment facility in some warehouse or some kind of facility that winston owns. So he hires a new team to transfer the ghosts in an ecto tanker truck. some villain (human or supernatural) finds out about this, and tries to sabotage the tanker somewhere along the way, so he can free/control the ghosts.
I really hope they somehow do something with Vigo again, I know the 2nd movie is either hit-or-miss for a lot of people but the 2nd movie is still a classic and the actual villain was pretty awesome.

Don't bet on it! He's made it clear that he's not interested in doing cameos. Hint, why he wasn't in Afterlife. He said for him to possibly come back, he would have to have a bigger role with more air time for him to even put in the effort.
My main thing to see would be Oscar as a GB, L. Tully attorney at law, who the mother of egons daughter. A newer version of extreme ghostbusters would be cool... have it be a unsolved case from the OG days.. have Winston's and ray talk about the one case that scared egon or Peter so much that they couldn't solve it amd the entity got away... boom, enter sandman and/or Samhain!
I would love to see Samhain as the main baddie in the new film. Him as the villain would be a great way to make the animated series canyon within the films and him alone could have the power to summon a whole bunch of other ghosts for the new team to BUST!!!!!
For me the problem with having the villain be a human is… it brings back vomit inducing memories of the 2016 epic fail. Can’t get past that. Shame.

I would love to see more Phoebe and Podcast. They had such a great friendship and I could see them as the backbone of the new team. Plus I'd love to see more Paul Rudd.
We need to move on. We need an all new cast. Grace and Kim were fantastic but everyone else was replaceable. Grace and Kim could be running the NY HQ while the other two are running an LA HQ. Give us a new HQ in a new city where the new employees have been trained and are ready to go. Give us a mystery, horror Ghostbusters.
My idea for Afterlife 2, have Vigo's painting become a time portal, and they take part in the origin/demise of human-Vigo, and connect the time loop "Back To The Future 3" style.

I've got this idea where Phoebe is off to college... in New York (Egon's Alma Mater)... She gets introduced to the New York team that Winston has put together. Something happens and she has to call in the Summerville Team to save the New York team.

They should bring in Erik Burnham from IDW comics. He's done a great job continuing the franchise and introducing new characters with great voices in the comic series.
My top 5:
1. No legacy ghosts. Bringing back Gozer was okay, but bringing back Slimer or any others from the past seems like nothing but fan service
2. Old Tech. There is really no reason to upgrade the tech. The slime blowers in GB2 already took away from classic proton packs. What we need is classic gear actually used.
3. Get rid of everyone new in Afterlife except Phoebe. There is no reason why any of them would move away from that town. Let Phoebe go live with Ray to "learn the ropes"
4. No backstory. We don't need to know every detail of every character. Tully was an accountant. Good enough. This is the "Star Wars" mentality where everything has to be explained and related to everything. Not needed.
5. Let the OG Ghostbusters be involved and pass on years of knowledge, but then become mentors. You have to allow your heroes to have their final duel. Afterlife sort of did that, but it didn't feel like they used years of experience, the whole thing felt tiny.
Bonus: Don't "Force Awakens" the movie. Afterlife was great, but it has so many callbacks that it started to feel like a huge fan service. We don't need that anymore. We don't need a billion easter eggs. Tell an original story that will stand on its own and let it succeed on its own merits.
I do NOT want Vigo to come back. I loved GB2, but we don't need Ghostbusters falling into the same pit as the Star Wars universe by rehashing old story lines and calling it "new." There is a wealth of material to draw from to make actual new movies. Keep the new team as the focus. Bring back any legacy actors who want to come back. Winston as the leader would be fantastic. Slimer as the firehouse "pet" would be cool. Tully making a cameo needs to happen.
Would love to see the new busters blast it out against the sandman or the boogieman. And maybe Oscar makes joins the ghostbusters. They are all trained by Winston, Venkman, and Louis Tully. Maybe the containment unit malfunctions somehow when Phoebe runs tests on it and all the ghost escape on Halloween. And maybe NYC is put into a trance on Halloween, splitting the dimensions.
1. Expansion on the falling out with Ray. Didn't buy it.
2. Bring Gruberson, Podcast & Phoebe to New York, ends with a new franchise in Chicago.
3. Further explanation of how ghosts, demons, heaven, hell, various relationships work.
4. Make Vigo a Hannibal Lecter like character. They talk to him through the painting, and he advises them, but also tried to manipulate them. Secondary antagonist.
5. Hire comedy writers who can make it funny, original, and not full of references.
I want to see the Sapngler Family agen in the next GB movie i love the new charaters from afterlife Phoebe is my new favorite and maby slime blowers to return and with orignal ghostbusters with Ray Winston to and maby the return Vigo the carpathian and slimer cant for get about him but mostly the Spangler Family to Return.
It would be cool to see a focus on a "team" again, maybe just like the original, see them build up their ghostbusting tech and business acumen. Some "new hires" with new personalities would be cool, I don't think we need to just focus on the previous movies characters. Say Winston develops a new team, Phoebe can be as Egon was, the main tech person, develop more gadgets and maybe even see some funny setbacks. Podcast is cool, but I don't see how he can remain relevant if they move out of the town.
I honestly DO NOT wanna see more teenage angst combined with ghostbusters though, sorry lol You can have a side story like that, but the main story should really be more ghostbusters team fighting trapping and investigating in a more "professional" way.
I’d love to see the Spengler family move to NYC. Winston funds the Ghostbusters prepping to go back in business, and hires Ray to be like a hands-on supervisor/trainer, much like Egon was in Extreme Ghostbusters. We see Phoebe developing a lot of new tech but at odds with her mom, who feels she’s too young to get out in the field to bust ghosts.
Mr. Gruberson is in NYC too because he’s dating Callie & they don’t want to split. I’d say somewhere near the end of the movie, he suits up to bust ghosts and proposes to Callie.
And maybe Trevor joins the team too as the new Bill Murray character. I’d say they could ask Bill to be part of the movie but if he refuses, doesn’t get back to them or wants too much money, then just move on from Bill & the Venkman character. I feel the franchise is strong enough that it doesn’t need him anymore, although having him would always be welcome too.
Probably not with how someone filed a complaint against him and filming on his current movie was suspended and he could end up "canceled"...

The movie studio wanted to do the right thing so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it and so they stopped the production. Murray said he and the unnamed woman are talking it through and "trying to make peace with each other".
He didn't say when, or if, production would resume and whether he'd continue to take part in the film.

I wasn't really all that concerned with the lack of answers about Phobie and Trevor's dad or Callie's mom. They didn't really go into any of the guys personal lives in the old movies, with the arguable exception of Venkman and his flirtations with Dana. Looking back we can just assume they all had home lives that just weren't explored in the original movies because they weren't important to the plot. As for what I'm hoping for in Afterlife II, I just hope we get a fresh threat instead of another rehash. If Afterlife had a weakness, it's that they had to go back to the Gozer well. It was alright as a reintroduction to the universe, but I thought Gozer was pretty well wrapped up back in '84 and another sequel should give us something new. Much as I like GBII, I don't want to see Viggo return. I'd rather get a new baddie for the new team to fight.

Whats funny is the GB equipment were so far ahead of their time in 84 that the still work in today's setting, being shop/purpose built equipment. I bet if they cleaned up like new in the movie it would look just as good. Yes some game upgrades would be nice, still keeping the OG look and feel. The trap is still the trap and I would like to see some containment system action.

3) I would love them to explore dimensions!!! And REVISIT HORROR STORY FILMS! Like busting Freddy Krueger! Jason! Redoing the seen from poltergeist 1982 when they get the child from the other world… I think it would be dope! I always imagine if those guys had the ghostbusters to help them.
4) INCLUDED THE FANS AS OTHER FRANCHISEES!! Make them nation wide! With shots of the North West Ghostbusters for exemple!!! That would be the ultimate for fans!!!

ONE specific thing this upcoming movie needs to be, is a continuation/ sequel to Afterlife. The new team and main characters from Afterlife should also be included, along with AS MANY of the ORIGINAL 80's Ghostbusters as possible. Winston Zeddemore will hopefully be there, as sort of hinted in the very end of Afterlife. As much as I would love to see Ray Stantz and Peter Venkman to come back, I have a feeling that Bill Murray isn't necessarily going to be onboard anymore, but I hope I am wrong. Dan Aykroyd seems like a guy who will reprise his role as Ray, as many time as the fans keep asking him back. One more thing = JASON REITMAN.
We NEED J. Michael Straczynski as the writer. He can integrate his RGB villians into the GB movie universe.
You bring up a number a great points. I would much rather prefer a series, and not another film, personally. How cool would it be if it was set as an anthology, following different franchise chapters throughout the country, the world? Really take advantage of that Ghost Corps license? Then maybe you can cleverly combine them in some season finale where certain chapters come together and defeat a unique threat?
This may not be a popular opinion, but I thought Ghostbusters 2 Slimer was way too stiff and cartoony. I know they were trying to feed off the RGB, but I just don't think it was executed well. In the video game, I think they got him just right.

2. More focus on the academics of spirits and demons/more Tobin's Spirit Guide
3. An appearance by Oscar and Yanosh

What do I want to see in the next Ghostbusters movie? Samhain. Set it for a Halloween 2024 release date. Make it super creative with a dash of horror like the original film. You can add in kids going trick or treating, which will give Sony an excuse to promote Halloween costumes, GB candy and various other merchandise. It's win-win! 🎃👻🚫

Ok , For me Winston and Ray need to be Mentors even if they are only supporting in small cameos. Winston re-opens The Fire House opts as Mechanic while Ray still has his Parts Store helps with Tech and Research* they don't need to be there 24/7 but help when needed and show ropes even back up as last resort.
Definitely upgrade Tech from The Game and anything Ray n Egon had in development ? That Phoebie can tinker w/ Ray.
Trevor n Winston can work on Maintenance and Mechanics. Podcast helps the marketing and media end through his show and Documents Jobs he's also Research. Lucky is also a member maybe doing her part as IDK maybe dealing w/ People and Clients sort as The Face of Phoebie's Team.

If they intend on using Vigo then I would also like to see them explore what happened to *baby" Oscar. (Now in his 30's)
Oscar would have grown up knowing the original ghostbusters. (likely thinking of them as uncles) He would have had plenty of experiences with them that most others wouldn't have had.
It's unlikely that Oscar would have been a ghostbuster. The opportunity just wouldn't have existed for him until after Winston revitalized the business.
Since we've never seen or heard of Oscar after the events of GB2 the writers can write practically anything they want about him.
Oscar could be make into an interesting new character that has skills to benefit the new team with unique ties to the older team.
No wishlist from me, such things only lead to disappointment but I will say...

I dont want to see another one. AFTERLIFE Was so aweful and they reused almost everything from the original. It became very boring. If they do another one, I hope its a hard reboot without using anything from the previous movies.

Just a speculation, but maybe this is the reason why the Super Mario movie has been delayed to 2023 to have Chris Pratt involved. It would be interesting to see the Demon What or feature part of the plot both Flipside and Don’t Open til Doomsday. Maybe now they are back in New York it would make a lot of sense to go after Rick Moranis.
Would love to see Mee-Krah. Can have a similar plot to the cartoon it was in. Ray could have an online version of Tobin's spirit guide as a reference for any new Ghostbusters team. Vigo, taking if the 2009 video game is cannon, was only powerful due to shandoor and what he had done with NYC with the Gozer plan. And with that in mind Vigo could be gaining strength again and see the threat and to pass off information on Mee-krah's distructive power. Hell, Vigo could even help the ghostbuster team save the live and the dead from Mee-Krah.
I would make it take place right after graduation of the Spangler kids graduating college along with podcast so they could go to New York and be Ghostbusters with funding by Winston zeddemore and also where is Oscar Dana Barrett's baby
Podcast and his family moving to NY would be a funny sub-plot. His roots are in the small town… then moving to NY would be a real fish out of water situation. Bill can pop up briefly… as long as he behaves himself on set. Maybe this film’s villain is a bunch of smaller ghosts, like a ghost mafia that terrorizes the city by working together. 1 and 2 had a huge villain with crazy strong power. Maybe this time it’s a group that wields the power.
Backstory doesn't matter in this franchise. It should be treated like seasoning. Adding it makes it better but too much and you ruin the final product.
Ghostbusters is a "threat of the week" franchise and it should be treated as such
There's actually no evidence that Egon upgraded the tech between movies. All we know is that in Afterlife we see the tech doing things we never saw it do before. That gives no clue to when it was done. The RTV was made with parts that have existed since the 1970s and the same applies to the goggles taking Polaroids. So just because we didn't see the tech implemented in the earlier films doesn't mean they weren't there. It could have just been used during busts during the montages which we never saw

No slimer, the only reason it was in gb2 was pressure from the studio. Need Oscar Venkman since it's assumed Peter and Dana married after gb2 and he would've adopted him and there should always be a Venkman on the ghostbusters. Would like no rehash of any existing ghosts or villains from any of the existing movies, a new score, new tech or upgraded equipment, more and newer ectos, and more back story for all characters.
that last one was terrible. was basically a kids movie. it wasn't funny or interesting, and the sci-fi aspect was garbage. maybe Sony wants redemption of unloading the last 2 piles of the audience.
I would like to see a separate Stay Puft Marshmallow Man entity that helps the Ghostbusters like in “The Real Ghostbusters.”

im 43 and I was surprised how they actually for once made a sequal that I could enjoy. But I didnt grew up with the cartoons or games so I have no nostigia for anything happned there. And I think there is a risk constantly bringing back the same thing as before in every way. It will not build upon the story only rehash it to much. But then again its hard to catch ligtning in a bottle twice with a different formula.
Surely there has to be some connection between the ghost version of Ivo Shandor and Vigo with Oscar's body inhabited by Vigo.

@@codernerd7076 not if they don’t sign contracts to appear in it they won’t but I like these characters but I want to see new characters take over if we carry on still stuck in the past then franchises will never move on its all a-ploy to sell more toys with the same tired characters over and over again it’s like they say that the next Halloween movie will be the last when there will be more to come and still see an tired Jamie Lee Curtis running around because of hardcore fans refusing to move on and give new characters a chance. And plus this multi-verses are an corporate cash grab but I am happy with the films in my collection.
I feel like the new movie will focus on a new team recruited by winston. Think about where afterlife left off: winston taking ecto-1 back to the firehouse, the containment unit looking like its about to blow. Maybe winston needs to quickly empty out the containment unit and transfer the captured ghosts to some larger containment facility in some warehouse or some kind of facility that winston owns. So he hires a new team to transfer the ghosts in an ecto tanker truck. some villain (human or supernatural) finds out about this, and tries to sabotage the tanker somewhere along the way, so he can free/control the ghosts.
I really hope they somehow do something with Vigo again, I know the 2nd movie is either hit-or-miss for a lot of people but the 2nd movie is still a classic and the actual villain was pretty awesome.
Maybe Samhain, the boogeyman, sandman, or gozers sister would be cool as possible big bad

More on the new team, and a new threat. Also like to know what happend to Slimer. Is he still around somewhere or did he go bad and been captured. Probably Muncher is the new "Slimer" for this theam. So i hope he end up as their pet ghost.
