Palestinian solidarity protests and encampments are appearing on college campuses from Massachusetts to California to protest Israel's attacks on Gaza and to call for divestment from Israeli apartheid. This week, police have raided encampments and arrested students at Yale and New York University. Palestinian American scholar and New York University professor Helga Tawil-Souri describes forming a faculty buffer to protect students, negotiating with police, and the ensuing crackdown that led to over 100 arrests Monday night. Uptown in New York City, the encampment at Columbia University is entering its seventh day despite mass arrests of protesters last week. "In my opinion, the NYPD were called in under false pretenses by the president of the university," says Joseph Slaughter, professor at Columbia University. "The university is being run as a sort of ad-hocracy at this point, the senior administration making up policies and procedures and prohibitions on the fly, changing them in the middle of the night."

Palestine‘s Hamas government admitted to taking two years to plan out their attack on Israeli “civilians” and the Palestinian people admit israel’s defense force is worn them what areas would be bomb so they could get to safety, but Hamas told them not to leave and be “martyrs.” What kind of hateful lunatic or manipulated fool supports Palestinian Hamas and how their government stole their peoples donated water pipes to turn into rockets to launch against another nation at their civilians? That's not how rights work.
Thank you Brave US Students ❤❤❤

The kids are all right
FIGHT THE POWER
The prsedent of the Columbia University is not competent and fearing the US senate.
So two people that have the same opinion. Great journalism.
It is not antisemitic or anti Jews. It's pro democracy. Pro human and innocent life's. Never forget the real enemies.
dont worry, we know youre an anti semite and youre all going on lists.
If they are pro human, why don't they care about the Israelis who were slaughtered raped and taken hostage. That's how this started, does no one recall this??
So thankful for all these activists.
So this is no protest. It's an activation. Right?
The president should be charged for false imprisonment and perjury for lying to the police. The student protesters should have their arrests expunged.
Nope , Jan 6th taught us all , you protest, you go to jail
What's your crime. "Stopping a genocide" sick and upsidedown country. And culture.
Where were these protest over the Syrian Civil War
There is actually real genocide this days in Darfur in Sudan AGAIN!, there is no aid with parachute from western world, no protest, no one give a shit.. because they are black, and no Jews involved..
Israel was not in the picture.
in this case, arabs who now took the jewish name palestine, given to jewish by romans call israel an occupier when in fact, the1400 year long arab occupation of holy jewish lands shows the arabs as the occupiers
lmaooo aint no way Columbia university is using common unacceptable fallacy (begging the question; p therefore p) to impose suspensions. This is why critical thinking classes are a requirement at my university hahaha. I love watching this while studying for my critical thinking exam. Fire all the staff who used this argument. It is an absolute embarrassment to have a person like myself (1st year) be able to debunk their lies with simply a 1st year education.
The narrative that says that all people in favor of Palestine innocent children and women are terrorists is totally irrational, and it comes from the west governments and US government. Political narratives have no rationality. They are serving the status quo, they are making the innocent look as evil and so on. They just work to help achieve objectives of the powerful people.
So nobody from the other side. Nice balanced debate. You just have people on that agree with you.. well done
Tribalism at work, always,no indivigualist in sight, group thinking, tragic.
If someone considers your mere presence to be a 'clear and present danger,' rest assured, THEY are the danger.

Are humans born in the land between the Jordan and the Mediterranean all humans and equal or not?
do women have equal rights there?
@@GGRotherdid settlers had equal rights when settlers stoled native people lands?
Or was everyone born free to pursue happiness and liberty. Because it sounds like a socially conditioned lie. Like a illusion.
@@GGRotherdo all human beings have equal rights here? Children and asylum seeking immigrants? Because unless you have a mental disorders, you should treat everyone the same.
In 1992, Denmark took in 321 Palestinian refugees. By 2019, 64% of them had been convicted of a crime. 34% of their children had also been convicted of a crime. Source: Danish Ministry for Immigration and Integration
If this is the case, why is Denmark granting asylum to stateless Palestinians from Gaza who have received support or protection from UN refugee agency UNRWA ?
Settlers are criminals in at stolen lands. I don't care where you come from or who you are. You do not forcibly remove your neighbor from hi land and home and build something else above it. So before you judge other look at your own history. That's led us to the state of the present moment in culture and society.
@@spicycopper2436racist finding. They're minorities. And doesn't specify their crimes. Judging a human like they're god or payed to do so. Settlers never admit to their crimes , Delusional cowards.
@@MariaReyes-wg5zx exactly! That is why the occupation of Israel /Jewish land by arab squatters and islam MUST STOP!
Sources, hasbara? Or did you think we cannot check it?
WHY are peaceful protesting students being violently arrested. They have not killed, maimed, starved anyone. So WHAT is their crime??
amurica, land of freedom and free speech, my ass
Yet you'd be the first to censor me when YOU and your thugs actually blab your HATE speech!
There's a difference between 'freedom', 'free speech', and 'your ass'.
🤮 you need a POS to tell you you're free what to think and what to say. Thank God I'm not white immigrant from Europe.
It is private property. The school has the right to remove anyone they wish to remove. The students were given ample time to move to a public place to carry out their protest. I have no problem with people being arrested for violation of law. I don’t care who the protesters are Pro-Palestine or pro-Israel. At some of these schools there has been intimidation and property damage caused by some of the protesters. I am pro-law because without laws we are just an unruly mob.
And what is to be done when it is our own governments that are violating laws, their own and those of international bodies and norms. That is what these young people are protesting. Do you suggest that the only appropriate response to lawlessness of our officials is to line up and lick jackboots.
Faculty and Students don't own the University. They are there under contract and tuition agreement. They certainly can be trespassers since it is not their own campus
yawn...
Which side is allowed to protest?
Schools should be establishments of education, not cucks to the Military Industrials Complex.
Not according to how they've set up social conditioning for the rest of us. You see, although these people claim to serve the land of the free and protect our freedoms, they do the exact opposite as soon as it isn't in accordance with the way they've set up social conditioning and how they wish to condition society and the culture.
Thank you activists.
Someone should have tried to get the utilities put into their name and claim squatters rights.
Bahaha, I bet they could get the building with squatters' rights in that shithole of a state.
Soon mr brown gonna hove no paycheck.. billion $$$$ donar mr kraft pulled back all donations..
I suggest moral people who love America stop going to "Patriot" games.
The heavy handed response by The Columbia President is blatantly obvious…..And I think I know exactly why!!!! It’s not the nature of the demonstrations, it’s the reasons for the demonstrations!!!
“Never let your sense of morals prevent you from doing what is right", Thanks to these brave students ❤ ❤

This associate professors; Helga Tawil-Souri.... it's ALWAYS easier to blame the security, rather than the actual problem. It's people like this lady who give Professors and Admin a bad name.
What would you expect from an Egyptian president of Columbia University. She was brought up in a culture of dictatorships of Hasni Mubarak and now General Sisi.
