- A CBS 8 viewer who was stuck in traffic while heading onto I-15 in Southcrest noticed a homeless encampment under the overpass.
The site of tents didn’t seem unusual, but then something strange caught his attention. He saw what appeared to be a cave dug into the side of a hill under the freeway.

You are correct. I was down and out for a couple years, no one had a clue, not even the folks who thought they knew me. That said, such is an anomoly because Homeless is a kolidescope of peoples: those keeping their head down trying to work their way out of a bad situation, folks who've given up on life and are simply existing, mentally deficient and or compromized folks who need to be instutionalized, a plethora of addicts hooked on skys the limit, those who failed to plan and are now at a stage in life where they can no longer compete in the workplace and are slowly loosing everything as the cost of living increases. There's no single frame, it's anyone.
So naive. These people live on the streets with rodents and bugs. They shit on the street and don’t wash their hands. You think for one second they care about keeping an area clean? Look at how much trash and bs they collected to set up camp lol.

If that freeway falls from that small hole, then there’s a worse problem than just the small tunnel
Even if they fill the hole back in, it cannot be properly compacted as a road base as it was when the freeway was built.
Digging a fort inside a hillside, that’s what I did when I was 10……….

I admire this guy's creativity, but sadly all his hard work was wasted. I feel for them but what can one do. Almost everybody is struggling.
This is what happens when capitalism prices people out of housing. I live in CA. It has the highest tax rates and cost of living anywhere in the USA. 40% of the homelessness are working class people who hold full time Jobs, but can't afford rental cost and insurance. Maybe don't let hedge funds buy up whole housing communities, then jack up prices 30%. I known at least 20 people in the last two years that sold everything and left. Matter a fact a friend of mine and his wife couldn't afford to buy a house in CA, so they bought and paid for a house with cash in Arkansas. Moral of the story, greed and capitalism, along with a pathetic political system is to blame....

My wife and I bought our house in 2015 when the market rates were actually reasonable. My house has over doubled in value with minimal work done to it. The so called free market is a racket pricing a whole generation of people out of the American dream!!!! The top 1# of society, own 60% of all Americans assets. Easier yet the richest 1,400 families in the country, own and control 60% of the wealth in the USA fact!!! The competitive free market is dead.
