Sounds good except as adults a lot of people cannot afford to pay the fee for changing ticket and some discount airlines don't allow any changes so would have to pay again for a new ticket. Also, some ppl have to go back to work or lose their job. So it's great if you can possibly stay, but for working class, money once again determines our actions. Seeing ppl blaming his friends for his death is terrible.
I have a friend who took a trip to Rio de Janeiro with a group of girls who were supposed to be her best friends. They spent 2 weeks there, partying etc, (as a group of girls would). On the bus to the airport, my friend was robbed. A group of children behaved as if they were in trouble. It was a distraction for thieves to take my friends things. She lost her wallet, passport, camera, phone, and clothing. She called her parents who were able to get her a hotel room, and necessities. (How she proved her identity for the hotel room, I have no idea). Her parents offered to pay for one of the girls to stay with my friend including paying for another ticket, meals, clothing etc. No one would stay with my friend. So her "BEST FRIENDS" abandoned her in a foreign country where she/they did speak the language!

I mean an ear infection isn’t that big of a deal... if I were one of his friends I would have stayed with him just as an excuse doe another night or two of vacation lol but other than that you can’t really blame them for leaving him because they’d have to change their schedule and pay for a new plane ticket and he told them to just go because he would be fine, he even insisted that they not go through the hassle just for him as he would just stay in the hotel room all night and then be home right away. So while I may have been a great friend and stayed, you still can’t blame the friends.
My grandfather used to have psychotic episodes when taking antibiotics, not just one freak time, most every time he had to take them. And it was eerily similar to this man’s reaction.
Something similar happened to a friend of mine while taking anti-malarial drugs. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with him, in a remote part of an African country, and there were days when I thought he would get himself killed. At one point, I had to lock him in a room for his own safety. Scary. He was almost sectioned when we got back to the UK, but fortunately for him, one of the doctors picked up the cause.

He was attacked and injured by four men, He called his mum and told her that four men was out to get him/coming for him. So either the four men was really coming to get him (finish the job?), or if not that, he was most likely suffering from a psychotic episode due to the injuries he sustained and the likely trauma it caused him. And that combined with the medication he was prescribed might not have been a very healthy combination!?! 🤔 🤷♀️
It's amazing just how many people disappear after a car accident. Sometimes they don't even appear to be seriousy injured but often act strange or make strange statements (or all they find is their car), and they wander off never to be seen again

I had never had a vehicle accident in my life, but following the concussion I had two in three months! Both were my fault, making really stupid mistakes. Both were very minor and there were no injuries thank God, but still. I’m fine now but I really learned something about untreated head injuries.

there is a lot more to this story from what I know. For example: the doctor at the airport changed his story three times and Lars' mom flew to Bulgaria right after he went missing and was able to see footage of the security cameras which was deleted when the police arrived and was never part of the investigation. She saw Lars running out of the airport, seeing a police car and hiding from it before he jumped the fence. The whole story seems fishy since there were many cases of human trafficking in Bulgaria back then.

This case hurts my heart for his family never knowing what happened. I believe he actually had a head injury leading to confusion. Having a TBI myself I promise you can lose all logic really easily when your brain gets rocked.

There are very few alternative versions of events that don’t necessitate his friends continuing on with their lives after this. I’m not sure what you imagine his friends doing in contrast to continuing to live their lives. Should they return to the country check into the same hotel go to the airport set the stuff down run and jump the same fence to also never be seen again, just so internet nobodies will view them as quality pals.

We went on a holiday with our friends, we were all females. My friend and I got ditched at the camp ground, we didn't have a car. Some guys tried to get in our cabin and we ended up calling the police. We were so freaked out. I rung my Dad who was 5/6 hours drive away to come get us. Never leave your friends.
I remember this case very well. It's apperant that the doctor didn't treat him properly. The rumors in Bulgaria was that he had some kind of brain injury and probably blood hemorrhage in the head that escalated his problem. On the footage is visible how he's leaving the safety of the airport to run in the field around the airport. The guys from the fight were all questioned and they all have alibis, so it's crazy that he just disappeared. The most believable theory is that the guy had serious brain injury from the fight and things complicated with time and he got very paranoid, he probably had hallucinations and tried to hide somewhere. But due to his condition, he probably didn't think rationally and died of starvation or dehydration somewhere. That's the only explanation why nobody ever saw him again, even tho there was massive search for him.

Honestly the medication he was on for his infection could have made him paranoid. My boyfriend took medication for an infection he had in his skin... and it made him SUPER paranoid.

The head injury causes induced psychosis causing him to have a never ending feeling of dread and doom and he associated it with the four guys that he played soccer with the other night. I believe he did suffer a concussion and the effects had him hallucinating. The doctor failed to treat this young man correctly and as a result he ended up missing, never to be found. How devastating; as far as the friends they should’ve stayed with him, what’s another day? Or at least one should’ve remained to be sure that he was safe. I think that the doctor missed something in his diagnosis and/or he had a weirdly adverse reaction to the meds he was given and was suffering hallucinations. Someone should have stayed behind with him.
That isn't how mental illness presents. He was lucid enough to pace the hallways, hide in an elevator and see an airport doctor...within 24 hours of being with others.

How tragic for this young man and his family - so very sad. I agree with everyone here regarding his friends, at least one of them, should have stayed with him, I cannot believe they just left him alone after being injured! Some friends...but I'm sure the guilt will follow them for a very long time to come.

If people take too much cold or sinus medicine that has DXM you can deffo have a psychotic break. Some are more prone based on possible mental health problems but an overdose can cause severe paranoia and tripping.
It sounds like he was suffering from a break from reality. I have heard this happening to people when they are in an unfamiliar setting .This happened to my husband when he was nineteen long before we meet. He was telling me the story of when he decided to travel on his own overseas . He went to South Africa and then decided to go to Russia , Venezuela and then on to England to spend Christmas there and work there for two years because his sister lived in England in Manchester. Everything was going great until he arrived in Venezuela he couldn’t quite explain what happened however he said it was some kind of nervous breakdown or complete break with reality. With the help of some wonderful Americans who were holidaying in Venezuela at the time they were able to get hold of the Australian embassy and his family to get him on a flight to come straight home to Australia. Know one had drugged him, he didn’t meet up with bad people or eat or drink anything that was bad. All he remembers was waking up in he’s five star motel room totally disorientated in the early morning hours.

Probably saw a few people he thought were the guys after him, and decided to get out of Dodge. Then going deep into the bush to Hide/getaway in a foreign country, obviously lead to his demise.

I grew up in an area with a few pretty nasty bikergangs and some modern day Mafias. It wasn't uncommon for them to place a hit on people and have them killed in public areas where the victim felt safe. The doctor being a part of it might explain how they gained access to his information, including in his bank account info, and probably his flight information too, so they knew when to be at the airport. It could have been a combination of these things, as in a brain bleed, reaction to the meds or being given the wrong meds, which then induced psychosis... The 4 lads he got in a fight with must have know he was injured. Dude was probably holding his ear when he walked away... They could have followed him to the doctor, and paid the doctor off for his info. They could have then paid the security guards at the airport to take his aside, and 'detain' him. There are so many potential scenarios... So sad that everyone, and especially his family, will likely never know 😢

The doctor had something to do with it. There was no reason for the kid not to fly home. Some pain killers would have been fine for him to fly home. It would take weeks for his ear to get any better the doctor should have given him pain killers and had him see a doctor when he got home. The doctor is the person who isolated him from his friends. He was the victim of foul play. A doctor could make easy money selling the kid to human traffickers or organ harvesters or to people he really pissed off. Or he really did freak out run into the woods die of an anuerism and was devoured by animals. Or the kid was involved in some kind of organised crime in Germany and we get to the doctor and hired killers.

I mean an ear infection isn’t that big of a deal... if I were one of his friends I would have stayed with him just as an excuse doe another night or two of vacation lol but other than that you can’t really blame them for leaving him because they’d have to change their schedule and pay for a new plane ticket and he told them to just go because he would be fine, he even insisted that they not go through the hassle just for him as he would just stay in the hotel room all night and then be home right away. So while I may have been a great friend and stayed, you still can’t blame the friends.

My grandfather used to have psychotic episodes when taking antibiotics, not just one freak time, most every time he had to take them. And it was eerily similar to this man’s reaction.
Something similar happened to a friend of mine while taking anti-malarial drugs. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with him, in a remote part of an African country, and there were days when I thought he would get himself killed. At one point, I had to lock him in a room for his own safety. Scary. He was almost sectioned when we got back to the UK, but fortunately for him, one of the doctors picked up the cause.

He was attacked and injured by four men, He called his mum and told her that four men was out to get him/coming for him. So either the four men was really coming to get him (finish the job?), or if not that, he was most likely suffering from a psychotic episode due to the injuries he sustained and the likely trauma it caused him. And that combined with the medication he was prescribed might not have been a very healthy combination!?! 🤔 🤷♀️

I had never had a vehicle accident in my life, but following the concussion I had two in three months! Both were my fault, making really stupid mistakes. Both were very minor and there were no injuries thank God, but still. I’m fine now but I really learned something about untreated head injuries.

there is a lot more to this story from what I know. For example: the doctor at the airport changed his story three times and Lars' mom flew to Bulgaria right after he went missing and was able to see footage of the security cameras which was deleted when the police arrived and was never part of the investigation. She saw Lars running out of the airport, seeing a police car and hiding from it before he jumped the fence. The whole story seems fishy since there were many cases of human trafficking in Bulgaria back then.

Some guys tried to get in our cabin and we ended up calling the police. We were so freaked out. I rung my Dad who was 5/6 hours drive away to come get us. Never leave your friends.

I heard this story 3 years ago, it always left me concerned and wondering 🤔
I remember this case very well. It's apperant that the doctor didn't treat him properly. The rumors in Bulgaria was that he had some kind of brain injury and probably blood hemorrhage in the head that escalated his problem. On the footage is visible how he's leaving the safety of the airport to run in the field around the airport.
The guys from the fight were all questioned and they all have alibis, so it's crazy that he just disappeared.
The most believable theory is that the guy had serious brain injury from the fight and things complicated with time and he got very paranoid, he probably had hallucinations and tried to hide somewhere. But due to his condition, he probably didn't think rationally and died of starvation or dehydration somewhere. That's the only explanation why nobody ever saw him again, even tho there was massive search for him.
That is so heartbreaking… he might have hid in a drain or under something so it would be hard to find him.

I believe he did suffer a concussion and the effects had him hallucinating. The doctor failed to treat this young man correctly and as a result he ended up missing, never to be found. How devastating; as far as the friends they should’ve stayed with him, what’s another day? Or at least one should’ve remained to be sure that he was safe. I wonder if they ever feel guilty about leaving him there by himself knowing he was suffering with an injury severe enough to keep him from boarding a plane.

I think that the doctor missed something in his diagnosis and/or he had a weirdly adverse reaction to the meds he was given and was suffering hallucinations. Someone should have stayed behind with him.

It sounds like he was suffering from a break from reality. I have heard this happening to people when they are in an unfamiliar setting .This happened to my husband when he was nineteen long before we meet. He was telling me the story of when he decided to travel on his own overseas . He went to South Africa and then decided to go to Russia , Venezuela and then on to England to spend Christmas there and work there for two years because his sister lived in England in Manchester. Everything was going great until he arrived in Venezuela he couldn’t quite explain what happened however he said it was some kind of nervous breakdown or complete break with reality. With the help of some wonderful Americans who were holidaying in Venezuela at the time they were able to get hold of the Australian embassy and his family to get him on a flight to come straight home to Australia. Know one had drugged him, he didn’t meet up with bad people or eat or drink anything that was bad. All he remembers was waking up in he’s five star motel room totally disorientated in the early morning hours.

I grew up in an area with a few pretty nasty bikergangs and some modern day Mafias. It wasn't uncommon for them to place a hit on people and have them killed in public areas where the victim felt safe. Probably a billionaire needed a heart transplant and they chose him. So many super wealthy evil people do this, they believe the blood of the innocent makes them live forever. They work with worldwide police and military to track down and trace targeted individuals and then cover it up, using the "mental illness" card so nobody investigates it further and they KILL ANYBODY that gets to close to the truth, I know because im currently fighting human trafficking stalkers that have targeted me for years. They may watch a target for years until they decide to make a move or they get the order to take out a target. Truly demonic world we live in😢
The doctor being a part of it might explain how they gained access to his information, including in his bank account info, and probably his flight information too, so they knew when to be at the airport. It could have been a combination of these things, as in a brain bleed, reaction to the meds or being given the wrong meds, which then induced psychosis...
The 4 lads he got in a fight with must have know he was injured. Dude was probably holding his ear when he walked away... They could have followed him to the doctor, and paid the doctor off for his info. They could have then paid the security guards at the airport to take his aside, and 'detain' him. There are so many potential scenarios... So sad that everyone, and especially his family, will likely never know 😢
He was mentally ill, there is no safer place than the airport so it made no sense for him to leave there. Don't be the typical western bias creature about "organs".

The doctor had something to do with it. There was no reason for the kid not to fly home. Some pain killers would have been fine for him to fly home. It would take weeks for his ear to get any better the doctor should have given him pain killers and had him see a doctor when he got home. The doctor is the person who isolated him from his friends. He was the victim of foul play. A doctor could make easy money selling the kid to human traffickers or organ harvesters or to people he really pissed off. Or he really did freak out run into the woods die of an anuerism and was devoured by animals. Or the kid was involved in some kind of organised crime in Germany and we get to the doctor and hired killers.
Actually his mother convinced him to see the airport physician abt his ear before boarding the flight. He took off running once in the doctor’s office. Never to be seen again.
