I wish we looked up reviews before we bought it. OVER PRICED JUNK! In an emergency we needed it and it was a BIG FAIL! 2HRS TOTAL TIME ON A FULL BATTERY. USED ON OUR REFRIGERATOR. RECHARGING WITH SOLAR PANELS 13 HRS OVER 3 DAYS ONLY 4BARS. 6 BARS IS A FULL CHARGE. BIG FAIL! BUYER BEWARE
WOW I was planning on buying a 4pariots generator before the end of the month. I went online and watched many comparisons and NO ONE ever spoke about the 4 patriots generator!! Now I know why. THank you for saving me from making a very big mistake. Ecoflow was always mentioned in every one.
At around 2:30 and there after you seem to be confused about the differences between watts and watt hours. With all due respect I’m only telling you this because you’re doing a good service, with the platform you have, helping people navigate to something better. However, it’s important to understand 1800w has nothing to do with how long a power bank will last. A common analogy about electricity is to think about water flow. If you have a bath tub full of water, the amount of water stored in the tub is your watt hours, the flow, is your watts. If there wasn’t a city water line around and you were using the tub of water to put out a fire. The bigger the fire the more flow you would need. A water gun like stream of water isn’t going to help put the fire out, even though you would be able to use it longer. You need a fire hose sized to drown it out. But the capacity of the water in the tub will depend how long you’re able to keep spraying water. So in the case of the 4patriots 1800w power bank, it’s possible to have a small tub with a large 3” drain. Or small battery pack with a large inverter that can output 1800w. The way it was marketed was completely wrong and takes advantage of ignorant consumers thinking they can power a house hold fridge for hours on end. In reality the 4pat 1800 was just a small power bank to keep your phones, laptops, tablets charged with the ABILITY to power a fridge, if you had to. Everyones refrigerator is different so none of them pull the same output. It really wasn’t even that long ago when the first power banks were coming out. They sized the inverter proportionally to the size of the battery. Many people thought these 300-500w inverters were useless because it came with a 120v plug but you couldn’t power something like a 1200w keurig coffee maker, or a toaster, or a fridge. So I think they were cramming larger inverters with small battery packs so they can market it as easy to carry, powers high drain appliances like coffee makers and fridges. Anyway, if you can’t find the watt hours listed easily in the specs, best bet is to stay away from it. Some other important things to consider when buying a solar generator is how are you going to charge it. Some, not so good ones, don’t let you charge while you’re using the unit to power something, that’s not any good. Some limit the solar charging to under 200w solar. You could run the battery down twice as fast as it takes to fill up. Some power banks come with multiple ways to charge but limit you to only 1 way at a time. I like that ecoflow has an ultra fast charging mode when plugged into ac power. But if your plugged into ac it shuts of dc charging. I have a small 800w propane generator I use to charge it up real quick and I can turn off the propane generator to conserve fuel. However, bluetti appears to come with slow charging speeds, but you can use all the charging outlets to charge from a car, from ac, from solar, and charge through the USB-C port all at the same time and be completely charged in under an hour from completely dead. Everyone has got to research before they buy anything.
Tony what solar generator do you have and what sizes do they make? I need one where I can charge it while it charging items inside my house. What do you think? Any advice
Iv held off from getting something more ideal because the technology has been evolving rapidly since this video. I waiting to see where it settles, luckily hurricanes and other power outage events have been pretty calm lately. However i’am looking hard at some offerings from Bluetti. Currently I’m still using 3 different, older, 1800w power banks, and a couple 600w, instead of 1 bigger unit. My thought was if 1 unit failed I have 2 more to keep necessities going. I don’t know what your necessities are but at the very least, if your taking it seriously, I’d be looking at the Bluetti Ac300. It’s a large unit but still manageable to be portable, so you could take it on the road tailgating/camping. You basically buy it in sections because it’s modular. The inverter is a stand alone unit that puts out 3000w continuous and up to 6000w surge. There is no battery inside the inverter so you will need at least 1 b300 battery to use it, you could stack up to 4 batteries for a total of 12,300wh of storage. You could connect 2 sets in parallel to put out 240v. To take it on the road you could disconnect the inverter and 1 battery, leave the other 3 batteries home. The Ac500 would be better putting out 5000w continuous with the same modular stacking design. Up to 18,400wh of power storage if you were to max out the stacking batteries. Both the Ac300 and Ac500 have UPS capability. So you could keep the unit plugged into wall power and the power would bypass the battery and send power to something you never want to power off. Such as a desk top computer so you don’t lose a big report your working on, or you could have piece of mind if you’re on a road trip and you have your refrigerator plugged in to the unit. The house will lose power but you won’t have to rush home to keep your food cold. The Bluetti Ep800 and 900 is a more permanent whole home backup solution. Still modular as you can buy and stack batteries over time so you don’t have to buy 1 big unit now, but it’s not portable. With any of these examples I would size an appropriate ROOF top solar array so your not turning your yard into a mini solar farm.
Thanks dude! I was considering buying a 4Patriot generator when I came across your video. Ur right when you say that all the vids are produced by the company. Thanks for saving me some bucks.
A actually brother ! It’s a great generator ! I hook up fans , loud speakers , skill saws etc !! I’ve had other generators and this works amazing . So yeah anyway . This guy talks about not a lot of videos, it could be many reasons , this guy seems likes he hates the patriots for some reason . Anyway don’t let this guy deter you ! 100% money back guarantee for 365 ! He’s lying about 10hrs of power lol ! Anyway. This guy is all over place and there are wholes in his facts! I love it and enjoy it !
@@leosuarezjr8479 I get what you're saying. But after looking around for other generators, I settled on the Ryobi. Interchangeable batteries, low cost and good enough to run my big kitchen fridge/freezer during a blackout. The only other thing I could have wished for was a solar hookup. But, I can make one of those easy.
I have the ecoflow 1300 watt for 1200 and it was very helpful during hurricane Ian. I also bought their 400watt solar panel and it charges to 85 percent in a few hours on a sunny day! I could have used it on the fridge but instead used it on the coffee pot, electric grill , fans and lights and it never actually ran out of power! Thanks for the vid! I even used it to operate my garage door !
I absolutely love my delta, recently picked up the pro. Hurt the wallet a bit but along with the panels i can run anything in my house so im pretty satisfied
Pull the manual override on the garage door opener and problem solved 😂 if you live in a neighborhood that you have to lock your garage door for a couple days, I'm sorry. Move.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video friend. I’m a Special Operation Forces Vet and my father is on a fixed income. He purchased the 4patriots and it couldn’t even run the smallest window ac you can get at Walmart for more than two hours. I will be returning it and getting his money back.
Glad to help bluetti and jackery are also good choices. I reccomend watching some reviews from will prowse or hobotech before purchasing any power station
Every one is trying to sell something. Me personally im just trying to prevent people from getting ripped off. If you can take that 3 grand and invest in a better unit i would encourage it even if i worked for or sold 4 patriots
You are the GOAT! Thank you! I was lucky to see the red flags on their website such as not listing the actual Wh of the battery even before I saw your video. Clicked away to better products quick. Thank you for the excellent and truthful review.
Nice work. For me I simply use four Die Hard deep cycle marine batteries from my boat, four $40.00 30 watt 1.6 amp small solar panels connected in parallel to a solar controller used to charge the batteries which are connected to two 1500 watt pure sine inverters. Total watt hours over 2800. Cost excluding batteries $360.00 (about).
Point I brought up on several channels, people seemed to not understand, small cheap panels will eventually charge any size battery bank, just depends on usage, glad to see someone else notice
I have one building that is exclusively powered by solar power, so I have an idea of what solar can and cannot do. My problem with solar for real emergencies is: can anyone guarantee bright sunny weather immediately following a major disaster? You can buy a premium inverter generator for far less than $2500, fill a couple of gas cans, and have several days of power on tap regardless of weather. Use your solar first, then have the genny as an ace up your sleeve if needed. No way I'd invest big bucks in a solar generator before buying a generator first. Just my opinion though!
I can agree with that. I have some solar generators because i saw what happened in PR after Hurricane Maria- 1 year without power. The solar stuff would come into play for long term things if you couldnt get fuel but your right 2500 for something that will need recharging daily is a big pill to swallow especially when you could buy a real generator plus a ton of fuel for that price
That is THE number one red flag of red flags, with any product. The torturous, nearly infinitely long, blah, blah, blah, whether it's in writing, or video, before any, mention of the price. I am so tired running into this phenomenon, when I click to check out a product I think looks cool or useful.
Well... The first red flag is in the company name. It's a company that markets itself to American babyboomers which basically guarantees you're getting a subpar product for triple the price. It would be one thing if they were actually made in America, but nope. Manufactured in Asia. It's a scam in every sense.
Thank you for this video. I was looking for a solar style generator and 4patriots kept popping up. I was thinking their prices really seem high. Your breakdown really helps. Very eye opening. Much appreciated.
Glad i could help. Lots of great videos out there on the blu etti, eco flows and ankers powering homes and rv set ups not a lot from the 4 patriots side of the house
They almost got me last night! I was unable to get through to anyone, so I selected to have someone return my call. They never did call me back. Thank God they didn't call me back! I am clueless when it comes to buying generators. This video really helped.
Glad i could help and glad you didnt make a choice you might regret. Feel free to email me with any questions but a few quick tips, for this example lets say you are powering a average fridge 1. Make sure the out put is 500watts or above. Fridges have high starting watts 350watts-500watts and then drop lower. Avg is around 350watts but extra output is better incase you have something else plugged up. 2. The larger the Watthour (capacity) the long the device will run. Ie 768wh (4 patriots 1800) is less than 1612wh(4 patriots 2000x) and both are less than 3600wh (eco flow delta pro). 3. According to renogy (link to article below) the average fridge consumption is 102watts per hour. So according to this if you have a unit that is 1000wh capicity, it will run a fridge for roughly 1 day, however on my testing for my fridge my delta 1260wh ran a fridge for 15 hrs roughly 85 watts per hour www.renogy.com/blog/an-indepth-guide-how-many-watts-does-a-refrigerator-use/
So it depends on what emp you research. Some would say anything electronic would get fried and stop working unless they are protected in a faraday cage or bag Others say that only electronic that are plugged into a oulet would stop working because of the massive surge in power. Either way if thats a concern then you might wanna look into building a faraday cage and putting anything you see as a vauable electronic in there. Unfortunately theres just not a lot of true research a d too much fear porn behind emps
@@titanpreparedness I live in an apartment, so I don't want something too big, yet I need something that will run my electric blanket, frig, laptop and lamp. How does it recharge if I have no power? I do not want anything that use fuel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@@titanpreparednessI know you were pushing Eco Flow but I think I need to do more research. The thing that sucked me into For Patriots was they were on tv so I looked it up. When I went to the website I liked the detailed information they have. I support anything for our military but I don’t want to get ripped off at the same time. I did watch the videos but did not catch what you did. Thanks again
@TippyTomsGhost what do you mean by you didnt catch what I did? I do "push" ecoflow but that's just because I've found them to be one of the best units for my situation. I have a ecofow fridays playlist where you can see how long it will run different household appliances feel free to check those out. Bluetti and jackery are also very reputable units but because I don't own those it would be hard for me to tell you exactly how good they are.
I love the comparison videos. I wish I were wealthy enough to give these types of reviews. Buy all the products, use them side by side and testify away. Thank you very much for your candor.
They seem to be out of stock often, but my Okmo has done well and we use it a LOT. But those solar generators do have limitations. They can’t do big stuff for more than a couple mins. Phones, tablets, flashlights, string lights, fans, and even small freezer are fine
I can agree know the limits. Thats what i dont like about this one is it overestimates the limits. I know my delta will power a fridge/freezer for about 12 hrs but some how they guess their old unit thats half the size will run one for 20
@@titanpreparednessswinging back to this video just to add that I am thinking of testing out their smaller one, the Sidekick. Which I think has potential for camping, some RV/van life uses. Stay tuned. If i decide to pull the trigger will show tests of course, like I did in the Okmo video (which actually took me 16 hours to film LOL)
I just picked up the Ecoflow delta 2 max 2048wh LFP battery 2400w inverter 4800w peak with 2 500w solar controllers with 2 extra 2048 extra batteries for $3650. That 6144wh of battery capacity or 5550kw of usable power after subtracting inverter overhead. It’s a great setup with 2 550w panels to feed it 1000 watts of solar. I runs 3 freezers 24/7 with that stack. Could not be happier.
You just saved me too. Since you were doing all that math, I realized the main selling point was to not lose all that money spent on all that food in the fridge. Now I realize, I can buy a lot of replacement food and dine out a lot before reaching $3000 spent on this generator.
So i have nothing wrong with keeping a fridge on during an outage. My problem is people spend 2000-3000 for the 4 patriots and it might keep the fridge on for a single day when they could have taken that and spent it on a better system and keep the fridge on for a week or long. Also i reccomend the cycle system when it comes to running a fridge during an outage. On for 1 off for 2 would extend the power stations dramatically
I'm glad I could help. I'm being honest and transparent. Yes, I do have a sponsorship for ecoflow, but that's because I did a lot of research before and wanted to work with the best company. As you can see from size and price, 4 patriots aren't it
Almost a year ago, I bought two Patriot refrigerators/ freezer. In no time at all one of them quit working. To their defense, I called the agent went over all the steps to get it up and running. Nothing worked. When I asked him was I to return it, he said no, shipping cost too much. We'll just send you another brand new one. And so they did. Since then, both have been running continuously on ac. I don't think the batteries would run it long enough in a crisis. The box itself appears to be good enough to use for an ice chest. Thanks for totally confusing me on the generator.
I just got an ALLPOWER 2000 watt solar generator with 400 watt charging panels from Walmart for 1200 bucks tax included free shipping and I love that I can charge it and use it at the same time 😊
My Anker c 1000 puts out 1800 watts with a 2400 watt surge, has 1056 WH, And the weight is 28 pounds. I love it so much I bought 2 at 549.00 each! And a expansion battery that does the same 1056 Wh, for 400.00
Just bought the Anker C1000 on black friday special for $449 and expansion battery for $449 also. 1/3 the price of Patriot....loving the price savings.
@batiger222 your also going to love the performance, however if you try to run a gas furnace, you might need a neutral to ground bonding plug. None of the battery generators have it internally.
Great info we need another updated one? I bought the Ecoflo pro max to run my c-pap I hope it can do it. I couldn’t afford anything more unfortunately.
I kind of figured that they weren't a good deal because they use the name "For Patriots". I am a veteran and a patriot, but I don't buy something just because they use the name Patriot or any such thing, especially when they try to use fear to sell it. Knowledge beats fear every time.
Yeah I was looking that ad popped up on me on Facebook and stuff on 4patriots solar power generators are only good for the small things in like phones or something like that so they don't hold a charge how long does yours hold a charge and do they power or fridgerator you know and for how long I would like some more information from me if you can you don't know what the hell's going to happen. I have one more question like for now you know the solar panels or put on your roof did those work well at all like powering your house and stuff like that so you can save on electricity bill
So my Eco flow Delta (when new) would hold a charge for a year. Itll charge my small devices so many times ive lost count but it will run my big items like my chest freezer for about 15 hours. Now remember you really only need to plug a freezer up once every 12-24 hours so if your doing that then it would last for days. I dont have any solar on my roof but i know most of those systems are powered straight to the grid so during a blackout they wouldnt help run anything
Too late for me. I literally watch this video while opening my 4 Patriots 2000 solar generator. I will buy EcoFlow in the future. Thanks for making this video.
Sorry folks to burst your bubble. I have bought 4 of these to power my garage refrigerator, kitchen fridge and appliances, basement freezer, and my office computer system that I cannot do without. Have put in full use when hit with 2 power outages from storms. Both lasted 18 to 24 hours. Held charges. Had it been for longer outgage times, I would easily rotate them for re-charging. I like that they are lighter weight and portable. All I can say is that they worked well for my needs. The Grumpy Old Veteran in MO.
So wait you are saying that you have 4 of these? Which ones? The 1800 or the 2000x or a combo of all. Im not saying the "wouldnt work" just saying for the price there are better options out there.
@@titanpreparedness Yes, I have 3 Patriot 1800 W and 1 Blackfire 1500 W. I bought them separately over the years. I like them because they are portable, can take anywhere I want. They work perfectly. One each designated for freezer, refrigerators, appliances, and office computers/printers, display screens. Cannot do without power even for a day. They are EMP-proof in faraday bags. Could have bought gold, silver, other investments, but portable solar generators are to me worth their weight in whatever you choose. I just had to use these the other day for a dang nuisance local power outage. Hope this helps.
So im glad that you are more prepared and taking preparedness into your own hands. Havent tried the black fire. The purpose of this video isnt to say that the 4 patriots dont work but more so what could you have gotten for the same price. 1 1800 is 2500 and if you are happy with your purchase then awesome but in total thats 7500 spend (maybe they were cheaper a few years ago i dont know) for a total of 300 watts of solar and 2304 whs capicity. 1 eco flow delta 2 max is 1899 (1699 as of today sale) with a 2048 wh capicity. 2 of thes would be $3800 4096 whs (1792 wh more). 110w solar panels Are 400 (299 toadys sale) so 3 of those. $5000 ( 4298 todays sale) would get you almost 1800 more wh over what you currently have with the 3 1800s and would have saved you $2500. Thats the purpose of the video. These units are also very portable and can be moved around the house easily
Hi. The week after hurricane Beryl Hit Houston. I ordered the 1800 that came with the small buddy. It kept being delivered times, there weren't very good directions, I had no idea really what I was doing but a friend came over with his 2000 during the hurricane and it was all set up and I used it for a day. I was impressed. 1800 generator showed up. I charged it. When I unplugged it from the wall that front panel doesn't show the bars anymore and it doesn't tell me what wattage I have or what's being used. So then I came to you tube and started looking at these reviews and felt really stupid that I spent so much money on something that may not be working. Now I'm incredibly overwhelmed, especially since they're saying there's another storm out to sea. As a grumpy old veteran have I made a huge mistake? I know the solar panels are not going to work during a hurricane when the sun's not out. I just needed something in the house for a light, fan charge my phone. Maybe the internet. I'm not looking to keep a refrigerator going for a few days. The fact of pulling the refrigerator out to get the plug is a tad overwhelming for me. I'm sorry to bother you. But if you have any support for this overwhelmed retired woman in Texas I would appreciate it
Unfortunately, that's the exact reason I made this video. People promote 4 patriots but don't showcase what it can do, and that single 100 watt panel is a joke. Hate that you got ripped off bud
The river would power the TV but not the fridge The delta 2 would power the fridge and it's only 529 currently. The only problem with the delta 2 is size 1kw isn't a lot for the fridge. I have a playlist called ecoflow Fridays where I plugged the delta 1300 to my old fridge it ran for 8-12 hrs so you would get similar results If I was you I would get 2 delta 2s or 1 delta 2 max at least
Yea Ecoboy never mentions the Li-iron phosphate battery in the 1800, one of the safest batteries on the market, no possibilities of fire like Li-ion, expensive but safe!
I built a simple 200ah battery box. It has over 2.5kwh of power for less that 500 dollars. It has a battery monitor usb and usb-c charging ports. I used a dewalt large tool box to put it in and weighs less than 50lbs
Got a 2000x as a birthday present from a close family relative, I'm gratful I got the gift, but definitely would've gone a different route, planning on using this as a backup with my Bluetti AC180. 4Patriots also has a very terrible design on this thing, very odd to pack inside my rig, thanks for the video, I knew this was too good to be true lol
So in general you might be correct if the towers go down without a backup generator your cell phone might be of little use. However, lets say your life is not in danger, you could read a book on your phone, look up maps that youve download, play games that dont require the internet, or you could hook that phone up to a wifi connection that is available and get information or entertainment that way. Many uses for a phone that dont require cell phone service.
Thank you for sharing! I have been searching and researching solar powered generators for a couple of months. I have been seeing 4patriots ads like crazy during that time. I found the same info when comparing them to other systems. So your title is spot on. They are banking that people do not do research, because researchers are the enemy. Frankly, most people don’t. It is the same for everything else, and the companies just line their pockets.
The 4Patriots power cell CX did not completely charge my IPad even though the power cell was completely charged. I am testing how it charged using the solar panel and how it charges a cell phone.
There is a lot of information here. I was looking for your video that shows you putting this unit through its paces, but I can't find it. Is it in your list?
Okay I bought this. I thought I was doing good for my family. Family went through some things. I’m trying to do things I was never taught about. I am just getting into survival things. So I’ve lost money on this. Can someone please tell me what kinds of things I should consider buying to keep my family okay in an emergency? I need to watch video again concerning a better solar power generator. Until I can buy my own home, I need powerful and light and inexpensive. I’m very frustrated with myself. 😢
Firstly it happens i cant tell you the amount of stuff i wasted money on when i first started because i was listening to other channels. Yours is still useful even if you over paid, prepping is all about learning. The way i tell people to start is pretend theres a weekend power outage. Do you have water and a way to filter any water you find. Do you have food and a way to cook sinple meals? Lights? Ways to keep a phone charged? Ways to keep warm. Feel free to email me and we can discuss more in depth and i can give you a better list
A good electricity backup plan consists of two things. 1. A good "Solar Power Station" which will power the essential items-refrigerator, small fan, lights, etc. This unit should be at least 2000 watts rated with an ~ 4000 watt surge. I bought the Pecron E2000LFP that fits this spec. (~$1199.00 at BIG A store). I can run my full size refer overnight and still have ~ 35% power remaining the next morning. 2. A good INVERTER generator, rated ~ 1800 watts running with ~ 2200 watts surge. I bought the Westinghouse iGEN2500 that fits this spec. (~$600.00 at HD or Lowes. It only consumes ONE gallon of gas running a 25% load for 10 hours. During the day, this inverter gen "recharges" my solar gen battery for night-time use for the refer. For hurricane season in Florida, I keep at least 15 gallons of STABILIZED E-0 - ethanol free - in reserve that would give me a good 5 days STRAIGHT of back up power with remembering to change the oil at ~ 100 hours or so. The above is MY plan and gear and is typical of what most people have/use for a power outage....
When did you buy it? My mom did the same is you and feels the exact same way. But I checked their return policy and you can return it within 365 days of purchasing! You have to pay shipping and a “restocking” fee but still better than the insane price it is
@@laurakcollinsWell, I DID NOT buy it, I did my homework BEFORE outlaying the cash. Again, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Pecron E2000LFP as it give you the best performance for the $$ you spend. As you have the option to ship the patriot back, it will cost you AT LEAST 125 BUCKS or more.... I live in Florida and you will benefit from a "solar power station", but, for the hurricane days with clouds, the Westinghouse iGEN2500, an inverter type that only burns one gallon of gas in ~8-10 hours... USE E-0 gas only in any small engine you have at home... My hurricane plan is to run the Westinghouse gas inverter during the day for a window AC and refer, also to charge the Pecron for night-time use for the refer that will keep the refer running overnight and still have 30% power in reserve. If you have any more questions, give me a shout right here 🙂 Hank
I calculated my energy needs. Then I did some shopping, not happy with what I found. For about $200.00 I built my own that fits in a backpack. It includes 4 backpack size solar panels wired in parallel, solar charge controller, ac inverter, and 2 batteries wired in parallel. I can add battery/batteries as needed. There are resources both for free and nominal charge that will walk you through this process. If space is not at a premium you can get larger 100 watt panels, if space is a premium you can search for smaller panels that you can wire in parallel to meet your power input needs.
I bought a mini side kick in 2022. Needed it recently only to find out it didn’t work. Still new in the box, did not work. Too bad, so sad they only warrant it one year. Oh, they will give you a $50 discount on a new one.
So you guys have model info on that HF? Researching & behind on prepping as going thru life changes of late. Thx for Patriots review! I was going thru their frustrating site...to wordy fluff, specs not quickly in forefront, no unbiased customer independent video links, outrageous priced.
www.harborfreight.com/100-watt-amorphous-solar-panel-kit-63585.html The HF is by no means the best solar system out there but its a nice little kit to play around with and get to learn from.
I actually have both the Patriots 2000x and the Expansion battery for the 2000x. It's a bit pricey, definitely priced high. However, it's simplified for easy use. With the expansion battery hooked up, Ran a large refrigerator non-stop for 2 days 7 hrs. That's almost 2.5 days, sure I have other solar generators actually all three Oupes Mega series, Mega 2, Mega 3 and Mega 5 each with an extra expansion battery. Although the Patriots 2000x has less capacity than each of my Oupes Mega series it draws down less energy when its on. Which gives it longer than normal usage when using an expansion battery. Sure, Patriots 2000x has its cons but overall glad i bought one.
Thank you for the follow-up, Mega series have more capacity than the Patriots 2000x including when each unit is coupled with an expansion battery. All Mega series (M1-M2-M3) with an expansion battery will out last the Patriot 2000x with an expansion battery. However, The Patriots 2000x with an expansion battery still does well. I have these four Solar generators, Although the Patriots 2000x has its Short comings it's still a good Solar generator. Very user friendly, AC Inventer has low draw down when in use as opposed to Mega 3 and Mega 5 they draw a lot of energy when AC Inventer is on. Not so much with the Mega 2, the AC inverter draws much less in which helps Mega 2 last very long when in use. To be honest, I had questioned myself a few times for buying the Patriots generator, now I don't and am very happy I bought one. After learning the Patriots 2000x strengths, See how valuable it is. Now with the OUPES Mega series, Very happy with them but they do have a couple of short comings. Overall, I feel everyone needs a couple of good Solar generators and lots of Solar panels. It doesn't do any good to have a Solar Generator without a proper Solar panel system to charge them when the grid is down for long periods. Good luck and may we all survive what is to come, the future doesn't look good, people please prepare.
I just saw the same ad as you and immediately thought “you do know what electromagnetic pulse means, right?” All microchips are done and it 100% looks like this generator has a chip in it.
Wow, I'm guessing that the additional weight is due to the battery being an AGM instead of LiIon. I though it was expensive at 1800 w/h, holy cow less than 700 watts. 100 watt panel? It should be at least 200.
Thank you for your well-prepared and informative presentation. I’m particularly interested in how the eco generator performs when multiple items are plugged in simultaneously. Additionally more verified customers not affiliated with the company would be helpful. Patriotic lost my business on both of those points.
Thanks for the info. I was debating whether to purchase one or not. I did e-mail the company president regarding the time it would take to re-charge on a cloudy day. The answer I received was 18 hours or more.
Yeah 18 hours is the best case situation. That's 100% accuracy on the solar panel with 18hrs of perfect sun, which is nearly impossible. However That's the way it is for any solar system but if you get a unit that can intake more solar then the time will go down
I just had the exact experience you described. To make long story short I ended up buying the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max with a 220W solar panel for almost exactly half the cost of the 4 Patriots 2000x. It was delivered Sep 8th. Just Sayin'
its funny that you went that route. I've had plenty of people tell me that im spreading lies just to sale a product. Seems like you figured out the truth
You failed to mention the ecoflow does NOT come with the solar pannels needed to power it, that is part of the price difference plus the aded hardware for 1800 watt output also adds to the price difference. While the storage capacity is important the output is more important for powering devices and the extra weight comes from larger and heavier components needed to power the output side, not to mention the 4 patriots generator can take upto 240 volt input. Someone else doing a test and not maxing the generator out has nothing to do with how it actually preforms. There is actually a lot yuou failed to mention. Why is it you feel the need to down play another brand to advertise the one that you have an affiliation with?
So few things to mention here. I did in fact talk about the eco flow not coming with a panel when the 4 patriots does. Its a 100w monocrystaline non folding panel that they value at $500. You can buy better panels for either unit on amazon for about $200. You said output was more important. So you would be correct in saying the 4 patriots can output more vs the eco flow river 2. For this one I was doing strictly battery size comparison both were 768wh. If you need that 1800w output then the 4 patriots is better compared to the eco flow delta that has 1800watts of output with 3600 surge and a bigger battery for $900 compared to $2500. It too can take 240v of input and weighs 30lbs compared to the 4 patriots at 40. Now you talk about me down playing other brands to promote ones im affiliates with...interesting choice of words. I compared 2 similar products based on specs and one came out above another. Would you rather i be like most and tell you that you should buy a $2500-$3000 product that cant beat the other product that is 1/2 the cost? Yes i make money selling ecoflow to viewers but ive also invested my own money buying their products and a lot of my time doing research to find the best dealer for this type of system. If your mad because you bought one then thats on you. If you are happy with your 4 patriots, then congratulations. This video was to showcase that there are far better products out there for a fraction of the cost.
I bought a lot of ther little hand held solar chargers and gave as Christmas gifts. The 2 I saved for myself didn’t work. Now I’m embarrassed to ask all the family if theirs didn’t work either.
Bit out of my wheelhouse but i know go sun has their chill/chillito and chillest that will run from any portable power station like mentioned in the video and you can save 15% using AMBATITAN at checkout, ive used a 12v fridge i got from a truck stop on a ambulance for many months so a truck stop might be the place to look first. Hope this helps a little
I bought a new Patriots 2000x in a yard sale for $300, I was looking for reviews/info on it and came accross this video, I haven't put it to use yet however after viewing this video I'm still hopeful $300 was a good deal LOL
As of right now you can get the eco flow for 3 grand. Sure you gotta buy a solar panel but that means its almost equal to a unit that is half its size 3600wh vs 1612 and only $500 more expensive than a unit thats 1/4 its size 3600wh vs 768wh. Meaning 4 patriots is highly expensive
We haven't had the product (Patriot's) for long enough to be able to say whether it's a good product long term or not, but after we got it, we did have a short power outage, and so just testing it out for that short amount of time, I was able to run 2 fans since I live in an area that gets hot during the summer and a lot of times during the early fall, and it worked out great for that (so far). We also used the generator to power our fridge for a while, and it worked ok for that too. So with the small amount of time we were able to test it out, so far it worked good (if that helps any). I'd like to add that they DO say that you don't run your fridge off the generator constantly, but run it for say an hour, and then turn the generator off for 3 or 4 hours etc. over and over, but don't run it constantly with no breaks. I'm thinking about maybe in the future buying a small fridge off amazon, because I think that would be a better fit for the generator though.
Hopefully, you will stay happy with your purchase, and it serves you well. It will run all of those things you mentioned but the question would be more so how much longer would it run with a different (cheaper) unit. Either way good luck with your preps
Lion Energy makes the new 2000X solar generator, and you can review their products (it will have a different name but the same guts) and see their reviews. They did NOT make their previous chonese made junk 1800. I have one but bought it at half off, and this was before I knew all the reviews, but since then, I've bought Bluetti. 4 Patriots is hyperbolic, but I ended up buying the extra accessories from Lion Energy and saved a lot from no longer buying from 4 Patriots.
Some of these companies really take advantage of people that know nothing about electrical power and expect something for nothing. They also play games with the numbers. It gets tricky when inverting DC to AC so they get by with half truths.
4Patriot power products are manufactured by "Lion Energy". You can purchase better built products for 50+ percent off the BS 4Patriot prices. Example; 110W solar panel for $199, instead of $499.
Absolutely good straight forward consumer advice on these products however I would only add that EcoFlow is a Chinese corporation where 4Patriots is based out of Tennessee, so if you're interested in supporting American made products versus funding the ChiCom invasion initiative then just understand that their costs are so low because of their slave labor policies. It's your choice Americans.
I’m only interested in what works BEST, when the lights go out, I want reliable power, I don’t care where it comes from, I want the BEST product at the BEST price!
Hi jklklm4985. I can't speak to the Patriot 1800 or 2000, But I had an older 1500, and that model was built by Lion Energy (i.e. Lion is the OEM), and American company.
if you lose power for more than 24 hours, you will have more important problems to deal with than your fridge and your CPAD machine because you're probably in some Katrina level or disaster. If it's a small disturbance, then just keep your fridge / freezer closed , and insulate it. It can keep a descent temperature for 1 day, maybe 2.
Not sure where you live but sounds like your very lucky to never lose power. Where i live we lose power for a day or 2 at a time just cause the weather is nice. A katrina level eve t is a bit of a stretch but i see where you are coming from. In Most cases the power outage is due to a storm but once that clears then the fridge and cpap are important
Wow i was actually thinking of getting one cuz they offer a payment plan (just because it is a convenient option) decided to do some research and came across your video , now I don't see it is worth it in the long run. That convenience lost it's shimmer thank you for taking the time to make this video👍😊
I’ve only used their phone chargers & flashlights they seem decent for what I use them for. I do agree 2k for a small generator is a rip off. Thanks for your input I don’t see many videos talking about it either
Glad to heard a true real world experience. Gonna pin it some more people can see what to expect
WOW I was planning on buying a 4pariots generator before the end of the month. I went online and watched many comparisons and NO ONE ever spoke about the 4 patriots generator!! Now I know why. THank you for saving me from making a very big mistake. Ecoflow was always mentioned in every one.
Glad i could help. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the ecoflows
He just talks smack without testing. I did test for over 2 weeks but he won't say that
My godmother bought me one of their solar chargers and the battery expanded and broke it apart after a few uses
they came online during the first Trump shitshow and marketed to the fake " patriot' of the maga cult. It was always just a money grab.
Chat rep says 25 watts continously 65 hours. 2000 watts continuously for 48 minutes.
OVER PRICED CHINESE BUILT CRAP AND YOU DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WATTS AND AMPS !!!
I like the way you explained this. Thank you. I’m open to recommendations and ideas. Feel free to comment, add ideas.
Thank in advance
Thanks dude! I was considering buying a 4Patriot generator when I came across your video. Ur right when you say that all the vids are produced by the company. Thanks for saving me some bucks.
Happy to help
Hundreds of videos online of the eco- flows
I was thinking on buying one two, until I came across this video.
And THIS is why I love RUclips. Thanks for saving me funds and hassle, and the trouble of having to do further research on 4patriots
Glad to hear it buddy
This channel also sells generators. Now I gotta research them. Cannot trust anyone anymore. 😢
You're right. I am affiliated with ecoflow but also recommend jackery and bluetti(neither of which I sell) anything but the over priced 4 patriots
Thanks so much for saving me $$$$
@@JoeMagnum glad to help
Move.
LOL. Using an emergency backup power source to open a garage door is the most American thing I have ever heard.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video friend. I’m a Special Operation Forces Vet and my father is on a fixed income. He purchased the 4patriots and it couldn’t even run the smallest window ac you can get at Walmart for more than two hours. I will be returning it and getting his money back.
Hate that he wasted money on it. Window units are hard on any power station, but especially small ones that are 3x the price
@@daveinci6158 patriotic Chinese product.
Finally somebody does a review! Thank You!
Glad to help
Thanks so much for this video!! You saved me brother! Looks like I will be doing some research on eco flow now.
Glad to help bluetti and jackery are also good choices.
I reccomend watching some reviews from will prowse or hobotech before purchasing any power station
There are tons of these online and everyone says theirs is best!! I think they are all wanting to sell us there's.
Every one is trying to sell something. Me personally im just trying to prevent people from getting ripped off. If you can take that 3 grand and invest in a better unit i would encourage it even if i worked for or sold 4 patriots
What really PISSES ME OFF is the PHQUEING name of the company - 4 patriots.... my A$$, there is nothing patriotic about this company....
You are the GOAT! Thank you!
I was lucky to see the red flags on their website such as not listing the actual Wh of the battery even before I saw your video. Clicked away to better products quick.
Thank you for the excellent and truthful review.
Glad i could help out bud. I made this video because i had a friend that was looking into them and like you i saw the red flags as well
Yep!@@titanpreparedness
Gas will be obsolete soon incase you haven’t heard
@seanpaulsadventures6780 No it won't.
@billbillerton6122 at some point it will be gone.
My first red flag is when they hide the price, then they go on and on with the hype for a full page
Never did show the price of the Patriot
Thank you for this video. I was looking for a solar style generator and 4patriots kept popping up. I was thinking their prices really seem high. Your breakdown really helps. Very eye opening. Much appreciated.
Glad i could help. Lots of great videos out there on the blu etti, eco flows and ankers powering homes and rv set ups not a lot from the 4 patriots side of the house
You do a real service here, and it is appreciated!!
Glad to help
Thanks for this video. I always wondered about 4Patriots.
Glad to help
Hey We think alike . People will go and buy products just on a commercial ad.
Excellent tutorial
They almost got me last night! I was unable to get through to anyone, so I selected to have someone return my call. They never did call me back. Thank God they didn't call me back! I am clueless when it comes to buying generators. This video really helped.
Glad i could help and glad you didnt make a choice you might regret. Feel free to email me with any questions but a few quick tips, for this example lets say you are powering a average fridge
So according to this if you have a unit that is 1000wh capicity, it will run a fridge for roughly 1 day, however on my testing for my fridge my delta 1260wh ran a fridge for 15 hrs roughly 85 watts per hour
www.renogy.com/blog/an-indepth-guide-how-many-watts-does-a-refrigerator-use/
The 3 he mentioned, ecoflow bluetti and jackery all are good brands. Safe
@@collinsfriend1 So, if there is an EMP, these would be useless?
So it depends on what emp you research. Some would say anything electronic would get fried and stop working unless they are protected in a faraday cage or bag
Others say that only electronic that are plugged into a oulet would stop working because of the massive surge in power.
Thank you.
You just saved me a shit load of money, thanks.
Glad to help
I wish 4 patriots would send me one so I could do a real comparison but after this video I'm highly doubtful of that
I wonder if anyone has purchased an EMP protection bag for their generator. I heard a tower bag is pretty good.
Havent worked with them but ive used the mission darkness bags before. If a emp is a concern then it would be a smart purchase to make
They seem to be out of stock often, but my Okmo has done well and we use it a LOT.
Sounds like you got a pretty good deal and lots of useable power. Awesome
I've bought there food and personal water filters i will reconsider my next purchase
You just saved me too. Since you were doing all that math, I realized the main selling point was to not lose all that money spent on all that food in the fridge. Now I realize, I can buy a lot of replacement food and dine out a lot before reaching $3000 spent on this generator.
That's true
What do you have against keeping your fringe on during an outage? Do you not keep perishables in your fridge?
So i have nothing wrong with keeping a fridge on during an outage. My problem is people spend 2000-3000 for the 4 patriots and it might keep the fridge on for a single day when they could have taken that and spent it on a better system and keep the fridge on for a week or long.
Also i reccomend the cycle system when it comes to running a fridge during an outage. On for 1 off for 2 would extend the power stations dramatically
So, if the solar panels are plugged in, I can't run the fridge/and other items continuously.
False. The 4 patriots offer pass thru charging allowing you to charge amd run devices but so does every other major brand
Thanks for the info. I appreciate your knowledge and ideas. I’m open to suggestions and ideas
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you for this honest review. I was looking to buy the 4Patriots 2000X, but didn't want to before reading/watching reviews on it.
To their defense, I called the agent went over all the steps to get it up
and running.
So they stiffed you with disposing of their product
im just waiting for it to be on QVC or as seen on tv. either way im staying with my gas generator
There are so0me speciific reasons to nhave a "battery" generator...but your right, I will stick with a gas one too.
And a expansion battery that does the same 1056 Wh, for 400.00
Anker is a excellent brand as well and sounds like you got a lot more bang for your buck
I have some videos on the channel featuring the delta pro against a freezer
I watched until the price reveal. Heard all I need to hear - thanks for the review! On to other products...
I kind of figured that they weren't a good deal because they use the name "For Patriots". I am a veteran and a patriot, but I don't buy something just because they use the name Patriot or any such thing, especially when they try to use fear to sell it. Knowledge beats fear every time.
Absolutely. Some how for patriots means to rip patriots off
I have a 2400 watt inverter patched to a battery in a marine case and isolator for dual charging
Thank you I was going to buy one, No more!
Personally prefer the eco flows but theres some other good brands out there as well.
Too late for me. I literally watch this video while opening my 4 Patriots 2000 solar generator. I will buy EcoFlow in the future. Thanks for making this video.
You got ripped off
Thank you for this review, man. You saved me thousands of dollars 💵. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
But if you have any support for this overwhelmed retired woman in Texas I would appreciate it
, my god man, how much did you spend on ALL of those?
I have one, it's not great, we're dealing with Helene right now. We use it specifically for a TV, DVD and fan and that only lasts like 6 hours
Unfortunately, that's the exact reason I made this video. People promote 4 patriots but don't showcase what it can do, and that single 100 watt panel is a joke. Hate that you got ripped off bud
Thanks for the content I was considering patriots generator but I will definitely reconsider my choice
Would the ecoflow river power a fridge and a TV in a small apartment cause I don't want to pay $2000
The river would power the TV but not the fridge
The delta 2 would power the fridge and it's only 529 currently.
The only problem with the delta 2 is size 1kw isn't a lot for the fridge. I have a playlist called ecoflow Fridays where I plugged the delta 1300 to my old fridge it ran for 8-12 hrs so you would get similar results
If I was you I would get 2 delta 2s or 1 delta 2 max at least
Thank you for the honest review, still haven't heard anything about what kind of batteries are in them.
1800 has a Lithium iron phosphate
2000x couldnt find
Eco flow delta lithium ion
@@titanpreparednessWatts and what hours are different. But this product is still trash
Yea Ecoboy never mentions the Li-iron phosphate battery in the 1800, one of the safest batteries on the market, no possibilities of fire like Li-ion, expensive but safe!
Thank you so much for this information!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I built a simple 200ah battery box. It has over 2.5kwh of power for less that 500 dollars. It has a battery monitor usb and usb-c charging ports. I used a dewalt large tool box to put it in and weighs less than 50lbs
Sounds like a great build
Got blue prints?

What is your opinion on the food products?

Mine ran my fridge for 7 hours it would have ran it longer but by then I can get my gas generator plugged in so maybe I got a good one?
Do you have the 4 patriots one or a different brand
Man. I wish I was saw video 2 weeks ago.😮 Thanks for the video. Keep up to good work.
Pushing good information out there.
We got one too before seeing this unfortunately but I looked and you can return it within a year of purchasing so we are doing that
@laurakcollins ... too late for me. It's been about a year and 5 months since I purchased the 2000X. So far all I can say it is a dud!!!
Curious who actually makes the 4Patriots generator.
What good is charging your phone if the cell towers rely on the same electricity that you do? They don’t all have backup generators either.
Ty for heads up just wasted my 700 on the EGO BATTERY SYSTEM DON'T WANT TO MAKE ANOTHER CARELESS MISTAKE😡
Exactly what I was looking for.

Started doing ecoflow fridays where i run different items off the eco flow units
I just purchased the Perron 2k LFP plenty of reviews and testing! I’ll keep ya all posted if interested!
Sounds great let me know how it is

That was a great review and comparrison! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I bought a mini side kick in 2022. Needed it recently only to find out it didn’t work. Still new in the box, did not work. Too bad, so sad they only warrant it one year. Oh, they will give you a $50 discount on a new one.
Damn that's terrible. You would think at least a new one would work

I like my harbor freight solar kit.
Got one and enjoyed it. Had to buy a 2nd one due to my panels breaking but still worth the buy
So you guys have model info on that HF? Researching & behind on prepping as going thru life changes of late. Thx for Patriots review! I was going thru their frustrating site...to wordy fluff, specs not quickly in forefront, no unbiased customer independent video links, outrageous priced.

So just to clarify your saying that the 2000x with the expansion will your fridge longer than the mega 2 3 or 5 with their expansion packs?
I just saw the same ad as you and immediately thought “you do know what electromagnetic pulse means, right?” All microchips are done and it 100% looks like this generator has a chip in it.
they are idiots..but " patriots" selling Chinese are idiots.
Man I really appreciate I was about to buy it when I saw the commercials on tv
Glad i could help
Wow, I'm guessing that the additional weight is due to the battery being an AGM instead of LiIon. I though it was expensive at 1800 w/h, holy cow less than 700 watts. 100 watt panel? It should be at least 200.
Subd. Honesty is everything. Good job
I agree. I try to stay honest with my channel. Rather stay honest than make a quick buck
The web page reminds me of the old “ Solutions from Science”. Thinking same company, different name.
Thank you for your well-prepared and informative presentation. I’m particularly interested in how the eco generator performs when multiple items are plugged in simultaneously. Additionally more verified customers not affiliated with the company would be helpful.
Patriotic lost my business on both of those points.
I will work on that video and put it out soon. Seeing how well it will do with 2 freezers hooked to it
I was very impressed by the Patriot till I saw this vid. But what about 240v for Australia? (thats standard domestic voltage here).
Where are these generators made ?
All of them are China
You can get nearly 800 watts of solar panels for $500.00 from other manufacturers.
My thoughts exactly
thank u sir, ive been wondering about these even tho im skeptical about solar to begin with
all the free stuff they add into the deal really makes it sound too good to be true...thats because it is
Thanks for the info.
Good video good information thanks for posting.
He did mention no panels with purchase
I bought a lot of ther little hand held solar chargers and gave as Christmas gifts. The 2 I saved for myself didn’t work. Now I’m embarrassed to ask all the family if theirs didn’t work either.
Why... I'm happy to answer. One I test for weeks before production of a video. But you don't go over that do you ?.

BRAVO Sir ! Just saw that Living Survival Video: Tiny frig Tiny "heater" Worthless Examples - Thank You For Validating My Concerns
The eco flow generator looks more expensive what am i missing?
4 patriots are enemies of usa. why are you?

Some companies take advantage of right-wing lunatics who see Patriot and an American flag in the logo and can't help but buy the product
4Patriot power products are manufactured by "Lion Energy". You can purchase better built products for 50+ percent off the BS 4Patriot prices. Example; 110W solar panel for $199, instead of $499.
If they are made by lion then people should just save a few thousand and buy the lion products.

It's your choice Americans.

if you lose power for more than 24 hours, you will have more important problems to deal with than your fridge and your CPAD machine because you're probably in some Katrina level or disaster.
