  • 4Patriots uses their 72-Hour Survival Food Kit as an incentive to the consumer, so the consumer purchases other items that 4Patriot is selling. For instance, they offer 2 Free 72-hour Survival Food Kits when you purchase their 3-Month Survival Food Kit for $699.95. This 72-hour (3-day) Survival Food Kit is a joke. Inside this kit, they put their Grammy's Sweet Oatmeal, Creamy Rice and Vegetable Dinner, and America's Finest Mac & Cheese. This kit is supposed to help you survive for 3 days. However, the packages come in a mylar bag that cannot be re-sealed, nor do they provide you with the ability to make single servings, so you have to mix the entire container at once. They provide no recommendations on how to save what you don't eat, so you can have something later in the day and the calorie count for each of these items ranges from 210 calories to 260 calories per day. Not enough for anyone to survive. I believe that 4Patriots is misleading the consumer and I am warning the consumer who is thinking of purchasing survival food from 4Patriots to beware and think before investing in this product. If you still choose to buy from 4Patriots you need to do your due diligence and do samples to test the taste of their product, how it cooks, how much water will be required, etc. Overall, I give 4Patriots an F for their 72-hour Survival Food Kit incentive primarily because of their misleading advertising and truthfulness. Stay tuned to my channel as there are some real issues out there from these companies who peddle their fear porn and their very overpriced survival food. Some of these foods aren't good enough to feed hogs. On my channel, I show you and demonstrate how each of these products looks and how they are prepared. You would hate to purchase these very expensive items, only to discover that what you purchased was a waste of preparation, time, and money and now you will be hard-pressed to survive an emergency situation. Try a small sampling of these survival foods before making any large purchase. Ask questions. How are these survival foods to be stored, and can the items be used as a single serving or multiple servings, how much water does it take, and how long do they need to cook, does it require any special cookware to prepare these survival foods, can the food that has already been prepared be saved and does it require refrigeration, or how do I reheat the leftover food, etc. Don't fall for the fear porn that is being peddled but start planning and make sure what you purchase is what you need personally or for your family. When the SHTF hits, you want to be confident that what you have is what you'll need to survive.

"There's a sucker born every minute." I think that was P..T. Barnum of Barnum & Bailey Circus. They charge $29.00 for this. It's 5$ worth of dried food. You can do better building your own 72 hour kit, maybe add a can of spam.

My problem with those things is that they all need to be cooked. Not warmed, not heated, but actually cooked.
If you're in a situation to need this food (like the Texas ice storm of 2021), you may not have all that water. Even if you do, most of those people had electric stoves, and thus won't be able to boil all that water. You can't even boil all that water on a grill on your patio! If you stocked cans of soup and chili, you can warm them over a candle. Even eat it cold, if you had to.

    • @thegoodstuff7619
      @thegoodstuff7619  6 месяцев назад +2

Those are great points. That's exactly the awareness that needs to be brought to people so they have a solid plan and things in place for these issues of no electricity or that your normal water supply is disrupted and why you'll need a alternative cooking source and water storage as part of your survival plans. Thanks for contributing by commenting. I appreciate your comments.

Buy a freaking Colman stove and stock up on propane or Colman fuel. Duh! A grill and some dry branches from a downed tree, an old pallet could heat your water.
Stockpile water or secure a reliable water source, the later the better!

I can get a big bag of dried mixed vegetables at my local herbs store for less than $15. A fruit cup full will make the wife and I a crockpot full of vegetable soup, which then add some beef to and some beef bullion cubes. A 1# bag of dried beans or rice is only $1,25 at the Dollar Tree of which we can add meat to it and make it a meal. Keep it dry and it will keep...

I found this after looking at their site, I was curious what it actually looked like as the whole site seemed a bit off... More show than anything really, and reading the fine print is really concerning. I mean they average 1500 cals. per bag(at least on the ones I was looking at) so they can sell more for less, they also exaggerate the hell out of the shelf life. And the nail in the coffin was reading the reviews where people were spending all their money on their big sets when they just aren't worth it. Stick to MRE's or actual camping style MRE's. Thank you for the review!

We opened one kit to see what was in it and found the oatmeal had a bad seal. Contacted company for replacement. They had me send photos to claims department and now NO ONE will answer their emails. BUYER BEWARE indeed. Kraft Mac & Cheese takes 7 mins to cook. If I have to cook items for 20 mins I could cook a full meal. Thanks for the video.

I could potentially scale down. However, I believe for the price they should offer that on their package plus I don't believe lots of people have the equipment to vacuum seal their bag nor should a customer have to purchase something like a vacuum seal to use 4Patriots products. Having a resealable package would not drive their cost up drastically. They do have a few of their packages in resealable packages, but the majority are not. Thanks for watching the video, as I will have some new videos drop today. One video is showing what they give you on a 3-month survival kit, and another is a short video on their buttermilk pancakes.

Thanks for posting this. People need to know about these things so they don't get misled and screwed over.
Well, if the SHTF, who has 20 minutes to cook something? Especially considering the power will probably be out and your stove may be useless. So you'd have to resort to using a small propane or butane camping stove. IMO those little stoves are not something that's designed to be used for 20 minutes at a stretch. Let alone for 20 minutes EACH package. That's not a viable option.
Canned stuff is easier and can be eaten cold from the can or just *heated up* versus cooked. Using an open fire, sterno, or small camp stove far quicker. Cans will also last a long time, but they are harder to lug around and store. Also, the large number of single serve "cuppa" type foods require far less water, cook within minutes, and are light and easy to cart and store. Also, 8 quarts of water needed for cooking when water may also be in short supply? Sorry that's a fail on too many levels for me to consider. There are literally tons of videos that teach you how to make your own MRE's. You'd be far better served doing it yourself.

730 total calories is a starvation diet. I would have to add sugar and cinnamon to the oatmeal, chicken to the rice and add Vienna sausages to the mac/cheese....or get rid of the mac/cheese and find an alternate more palatable mac/cheese. However, since we have to cook the entire packages; that's a deal breaker for me.
I can make my own MRE packages with better foods from Walmart a lot cheaper. Downside to that is at best a 1 year shelf life. But at least I don't have to lug around 2 gallons of water.

Based on some of what you said in the video I feel like I need to point out to you that putting half a gallon of water in the oatmeal means that when all of that oatmeal is consumed the half gallon of water will be consumed as well. (Miniscule amount will have boiled off)
It's not different than eating a dry potato chip and then taking a drink . It's just that in this case you mixed the "drink" directly in with the food
Think of it like this : if all you ate was oranges you'd need to drink very little water, because you're getting a ton in the food you're eating
The oatmeal contains a lot of water. Means you don't have to drink as much.

This is a band-aid solution for people too lazy and uninformed to adequately prepare for emergency situations. This gives them the mental security band aid that allows them to "feel" that they have "done something". There is no short cut to a well planned capability. Daily caloric needs, cooking capability, water quantity, and fuel source are only a few of the considerations. Better than nothing...but not much.

It has put me on the journey to improve all my preps, plus water storage and other sources for cooking besides a stove. Now, I'm able to better cook items over a firepit. The last thing you want to carry for a 3 day survival kit, but since you can survive 3 weeks without food maybe you will last for a few days longer. Their survival food is geared towards people sheltering in. You do not have to cook it all at once. You can just as easily divvy it up, store the rest of the dry mix in a ziplock. It will get eaten up as needed during the emergency conditions that caused the need for sheltering in. If I took their product on a mission into the woods, I would do prep prior or better yet, bring a few empty gallon ziplocks w me. Again their product is not geared so much to packing into a remote area on foot (freeze dried foods, MRE's etc or like the guy on Drop Forge Tactical who forages, fishes, digs clams out of the creek bed etc. ). I recommend him btw as he is a charming, funny, likeable guy. (BTW it does appear there are food wars going on between the various entities who produce these products..)

Do you own any 4 Patriots products? If you do, you know that their Mac and cheese can not be made into individual serving size because the cheese mix is also loose in the package. So that means I have to separate the noodles from the cheese mix. Now, how much cheese mix should I use to make an individual serving size? They provide no info on the ratio of cheese mix to noodles. I bought this, and it was promoted as a convenience. If I have to do extra things to use, like doing individual serving size, is that convenient? No. Lastly, I paid $700 dollars for this 3 month survival kit, and yes, I probably could mix most of their items individually if I wanted to. Maybe you don't have expectations from a company you spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars with to provide details for individual servings. They don't provide that information because they want you to mix the entire contents. How do I ensure that if I do an individual serving that I am able to get the precise ratio of the seasoning they have in their product and how do I precisely disperse those seasonings in my single serving as a lot of their products have their seasoning in clumps. You must benefit financially from 4 Patriots based on your comments. Think about it.

It doesn't supply you info if you separate out the cheese mix and noodles to provide the amount of cheese mix to use for 2 servings. Also, a lot of the seasoning is very clumpy. Again, in those meals how much of the seasoning would you use to the rice and noodles that are for that meal? It's things like that, which is why you can't just simply do a small amount easily. That's my reasoning. Mathematically I am not challenged it's a lack of info on the packaging to let me know how I can do smaller servings than fixing the entire container.

I got some at an estate sale for cheap.
I'll keep it around, but it will be the last thing I eat. It's all heavy on starch, sugar, chemical additives.
    Short on protein and taste.
    Waste of money.

The rice dish is 260 calories per serving. It has more than one serving in that package. So multiply the 260 by the servings and that is the total calories. These are also for a number of people in your party, not for one person. You said you have a wife, the two of you can survive on this. My guess would be 260 x 4 servings for 1,040. Also yes, you would have this with some type of protein, maybe fish you caught in the creek? Or rabbit? Or whatever other protein you have captured and prepared.

Did you take into effect that they had to make it a certain way? Because not everybody can eat it the way you would because of diabetes, high Blood Pressure and so on, and so on. So they had to make it sort of at a base, should I say or a little bland and in that way, if somebody can have salt plenty salt, they can add more salt on there, or if they want to. They can maybe add little cheese in there. I mean playing ahead of time. Because of that, but some people with high Blood Pressure. They can't have a lot of salt in there something think about

Resealing the package is easy, just fold it up and use a clip on it. It is a 72 hour kit, meaning food for 3 days, that is 72 hours. I am not defending their food, I don't even have any, I am merely explaining these things that you are reading incorrectly on the package.

There is an issue with the water consumption, I will agree with you there. But these are not meant to be full meals. You would have to provide your own protein since protein is perishable, they are not going to provide you with any.
You have to use so much water because this food is all dehydrated, which is an issue.
The price is way too much for what you are getting so I personally would never purchase it. But the main thing you are not doing is reading the serving label correctly.

I believe you made the right choice. Had I really done my homework or saw a video like this before I bought into the pitch, I would have just added the Kraft Mac n cheese to my storage because it tastes better anyway. Now that I am trying this stuff out and thinking about a potential situation, I am really reconsidering what I do for food storage. Cause I realize I need a different heat source to cook, I need to improve and increase my water storage and collection and finally doing my own packaging by get mylar bags, oxygen absorbers and vacuum seal machine and storing it in a food grade buckets that seal. At least I'll know that food will be tasteful.

no... you are MISLEADING... it is 210 per serving (8) servings = 1680 calories for oatmeal
    rice .... 260 per servings (4) servings = 1040 calories
mac and cheese is 260 calories (the serving info was covered...so i will say 4) = 1040 calories
for a grand total of 3760 calories....if this was for a family of 3 to 4 would totally work

    • @thegoodstuff7619
      @thegoodstuff7619  3 месяца назад

No, I'm not misleading. I'm not eating all 8 servings. I won't eat more than 1 serving, and therefore, if I eat just one serving, who can survive on 210 calories? No one, and therefore, I'm not misleading anyone. You miss the point of the whole video. They gave the buyer one meal/ item for a day, and I'm not going to eat the same thing all day. Plus, how do I store or re-heat? The 3 so-called meals aren't meals, and that is 4 Patriots misleading the consumer. You must be a paid influencer for 4 Patriots. Why are you defending them?

@loislamm1317 I will be grateful for any food, if it gets that bad. My point is if you're preparing for this type of event, people need to know how it's cooked, water usage, and taste. I have purchased thousands of dollars of this stuff blindly, believing and trusting this company. The food isn't what I want to have in an emergency if I can help it as I have a large storage of food, but from trying and working with this food, I definitely need more water storage. But I learned that I don't want to have all my eggs in one basket, and I definitely don't want it to be 4 Patriots. I do canned foods and now adding MREs, and I am making my own vacuum sealed food preps, which is much cheaper than buying 4 Patriots.
