He was a short puny guy and couldn’t handle money very well and couldn’t handle liquor either. He will never be confused for a tough guy. He couldn’t even get tv roles because he was so short and skinny with no muscles.

Growing up in the '70's David Cassidy was everywhere, the Partridge Family songs were all over the radio and David's face was stuck on every girls folder at my high school. Us regular guys had no chance, every girl loved David Cassidy and who could blame them! He was the man of the hour!
I had David’s picture all over my room as a kid. What’s really funny is that some of the lyrics to Partridge Family songs, taken out of their bubble-gum context, could be rather suggestive. “I’ll treat you like a woman, love you like a woman...” “One night stand is all I am...” And there I was at 8 and 9 years old singing them at the top of my lungs, LOL.

I had David’s pictures all over my room also. I got to see him in concert in Amarillo Texas I believe in 1973, something I will never forget. It is hard for me to realise he is now gone, RIP David.
David had talent ,charisma and obvious sex appeal. He was treated badly by alot of people including ones he thought he could trust so that would not help with his predisposition towards alcohol. He deserved so much more and though I never saw him in later years the shows he did cemented his talent ie blood brothers, efx..gone too soon and sad that he mayb never got peace and total happiness .hope he does now ..🌹🌹🌹❤
I couldn't have said it better. I think that's why I grieve so. I feel we had a part in it as we elevated him to such a beloved level that for years he COULDN'T have a life. His dad (an alcoholic) also created deep seated issues for him which David never reconciled because of his father's tragic death while David was in his 20's. And then there's the alcohol... But even that wasn't understood in terms of addiction and genetics until the last 20 years or so. He never got to enjoy David Cassidy the way we did.

I surprised myself how much I could drink being that small, also that I had Girlfriends being that small. Lucky me girlfriends liked to party like me. It was cool seeing those 70s girls having the hots for those Long Hair Rock Stars. Did get to see big bands Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Greatfull Dead, Neil Young, The Who, The Clash, Country Singer Alan Jackson. I grew up in an IRISH Family 10 kids. Mom & Dad both had IRISH names O'GRADY - KELLY. Parents were crazy raising 10 kids. IRISH Familys are known for having lots of kids. I really wish we had shows like this on today family oriented instead of all this reality stuff and crime shows. Today's society needs shows like this. It's a shame his childhood was so sad to bad his father was so jealous. David said in a interview all he wanted was praise from his dad and he didn't get it. David lived a lifestyle like his dad in some way but you know his dad was the only example he could go by. David had to live with the fact the fan was so distraught during one of his shows she passed away. What an awful memory he had to live with. One thing I always wondered was what kind of relationship did Shaun, Patrick and Ryan have with Jack I never found anything to let me know.Does anyone know? It would never be as good as the original. This has been done before. Remember "In Search Of The Partridge Family?" It was a huge flop. Only one episode was shown, and that was it. The original Partridge Family was the best. It just wouldn't be the same without the original actors.
Once innocence is gone it can never be regained. It was a much more innocent time back then. Unfortunately, the world is a much darker place now. At least we still have the memories.

David Cassidy was a fool for trying to be a rock star. Who on earth would take him for a rock star. You have to know your strengths and limitations. His father was an alcoholic and David must have known he could be one too. Too many people don’t appreciate their successes and are blind to their limitations. You can’t be something just because you wish for it.
Seems like a lot of people all over the world took him for a rock star ! I was a teenager in the 1970s and David cassidy was bigger than the Beatles and Elvis combined And no one more popular since !!! ....✌
Well Gerald his dad had bi-polar disorder yes David drank but he had to take care of his mom by himself. His mom had a lot of problems with her memory the fact you don’t call him a rock stars is kinda stupid because he sold out so many stadiums in hours. I like Elvis but David was one a kind. Tell me something Gerald did you have a dad? David didn’t really because he was so jealous of his son which is very stupid. You think can what you want of him I think he brought a lot to the 70’s the best music was the 70’s best decade for music in my opinion it’s just sad that he drank himself into a early grave. He was lonely so very sad.
David Cassidy was neither a fool nor did he want to be something he was not. The opposite is true, he wasn't Keith Partrigde! And didn't want to be a teen idol and make money for the music industry. So he got out of this hype and had the right to do so! Then he moved away from the big labels that locked doors for him after he got out. He turned to small labels and created his own songs. He had a fascinating voice, played guitar, piano and drums - he was a real musician! These are the facts.
Danny Lee, According to the video he wanted more than the bubble gum music he was doing. I think he should have been satisfied with his enormous success at that time.
