Which one do you like the most?
Clarification: those at the Bottom for Q5 aren't fog lights, adaptive sensors. This trim we had doesn't come with cooling seats. You can purchase them separately, which of course cost more money.

I have an 2017Sq5 and it’s performance at full throttle is great. Drives much smaller the harder you drive it,throttle response, brakes stops hard. 0-60 IS VERY UNDERATED. The bad is the BRAKES at light driving! Awful to modulate at stop & go with a big gap before the pads suddenly grab. Tried bleeding & bringing it back to the dealer, paying the dealer to bleed it. Everytime I was told "the brakes are within spec" which tells me they built this in. The gas mileage is poor. I drive a 50/50 mix in Boston area (worst rated traffic in the USA) I get an average of 19mpg. This is a great performance SUV with good luxury amenities . It is heavy(4500 lbs) weight, bad low speed brakes & price. Combined with a suspect long term reliability I’d go for the RDX next time.
I love my 2019 Acura RDX minus the infotainment system lord it needs an update. Other than that im in Love!!!

do you still love your RDX? I'm seeing a lot of users complaining about noises brake, jerky transmission and crappy infotainment. I've narrowed my choice between the X3 and the RDX but i'm hearing too much negative about the RDX.
The only issue I’ve had is the infotainment system. It will reboot randomly. Like this past weekend I felt like every time I got in the car it rebooted and sometimes never came back on. Other than that I’ve had no issues. I had an x5 before this and had a few issues with it as well. I feel they need a better update for the info system. Other than that the car has been great.
@@pierre598 Thanks for responding. Hopefully Acura will release a software update to fix the infotainment issue. It's a huge deal for prospective buyers.
HANDLING: The ACURA RDX has Super Handling AWD which has better torque vectoring capabilities than the AUDI Q5.
Overall I'd take the RDX. Its build quality/reliability ia excellent and has some features I prefer such as the SH-AWD.
RDX looks, performs better and more reliable in long term ownership.

@@kristians2704 I've driven both. Frankly the RDX is right up there with the q5, but is like 7k cheaper. PLUS you'll have to pay through the nose to get that audi repaired, which will be often as those germans love overengineering with poor reliability which makes for expensive parts installed slowly by expensive technicians. It's not free hate; it's base the reality of it all.

The RDX Advance trim makes up the areas you mentioned were better on the Q5. Power lift gate with foot swipe to open, more comfortable seats, 360 camera, shocks that get stiffer in sport mode, etc.
Q5 definitely has the better cluster, especially the full digital in the higher trims. Brakes are better on the Q5.
Worth driving both for anyone considering these two still in 2024.
Though stated at start of video that the RDX was mid-level trim and the Audi is top of the line, should remind viewers of that during comparison as you point out features the RDX lacks that the Audi has. Because the RDX is in large part a value proposition, it makes most sense to compare it to its competitors’ equivalent trim levels. The top level RDX has significantly more features (e.g. better sound insulation, hands free tailgate opening, 10.5in HUD, 16 way adjustable front seats, etc). Also didn’t clarify how big of a price difference between the vehicles or talk about the huge difference in interior space.
My RDX does have 360 camera, Nav, RDX does have the touchless foot active rear door. The RDX does have acoustic glass on the top trim (quieter than the A-spec. The RDX also has real leather and wood on the Advance trim. the A spec isn't the Tech Advance model
I have already said that u can find the rest of these options on different packages. Of course more money
Actually, The RDX Advance package does have the rear tailgate foot release. You can open the truck by sliding your foot under the car.

Just got mine 2021 RDX last week, a/spec blue exterior/red interior, and I'm in love with every single feature, the whole Panoramic sunroof with the 360 surround sound is heavenly, very comfortable compact SUV as well. I love my 20-inch shark rims too.
Got mine yesterday. Loving it. Always had bmw, but I’m already happy with the switch for this class of car. Still love my m3 though ;)

My sister has this Q5 and does have cooling seats. It's extra, which is again more money. But I am surprised with the S package it didn't come. I am shocked that I can by the second top trim from Acura and less money. My sis wont be happy lol

You seem very biased. I notice you have the front seat in the Audi adjusted further forward when compared to the RDX. You do this to make the Audi look roomier. You also have the lighting very dim on the RDX not showing the interior very well or the roof. How can you say the rear seats in the Audi hold you in. Rear seats are not bolstered to hold you in. You can clearly see how flat they are. Correction for you, update the software in the RDX and you will see Android auto. It was added for 2020. The A spec RDX also has Acura navigation with GPS linked climate control but you of course didn't mention this. RDX crushes Q5 in cargo room and you barely mentioned it. The Q5 also has fake exhaust. You also don't mention super handling awd on the RDX. You also said the Audi came in second place, if there are only two cars being compared of course the loser will come in second. The fog lights are not at the bottom for the Audi. Those are radar sensors. You can also get the 360 camera, heads up display, rear camera washer, 4 roof mounted speakers, heated steering, active rear foot release, rear heated seats, 2 USB connectors and it will still be less than the Audi. Why couldn't you find the drive button. "D" means drive in any car. C'mon bro be fair and unbiased with your reviews.

It's "cabin noise", not "noise cabin." I prefer the RDX over the Q5 as I think it will be more reliable and much cheaper to maintain. It looks better to me as well.

Sam CarLegion No, you are not right, when you go test drive a car, you will always try to test the speed, acceleration, house power, etc, so you will always hit the gas pedal harder than the normal everyday drive, I had an Acura TL, and I am driving an Acura RDX now and I also have a Infiniti Q50, all these cars fuel economy numbers are better than the advertised numbers

Sam CarLegion I actually know this as I test drove a 2019 Q5 at Audi Brampton with the advanced driver safety assistance package and they confirmed that those were radar sensors.
And it also had cooled seats (this is a separate package you need to add)

You owned one?
Had an AUDI V8 with no reliability issues and an Allroad that other than my wife leaving a window open on which rained on and caused the door switch group to be replaced had no issues with it also. On the Allroad I Race Chipped the V6 turbo, upgraded the bypass valves and got MONSTER POWER, that was a need for speed fun time. I also liked the Air suspension that was great for highway handling and a bit of offroad roving. The Torsen AWD systems were great, never had a problem with them and had tons of traction, I wish more MFGs used Torsen Diffs.
In some ways, you get more for your money in a Honda than an overrated Acura. As for reliability, both companies had their issues I got lucky with the Audis but my Honda Pilot had transmission problems due to gears not getting lubrication, a recall took care of that issue.

You said the RDX showed 75dB and then later said the Q5 showed 73dB. Then you said it was the same??? Wrong. Then you said you thought the Q5 was quieter (because it is!) but you never figured it out. Trust your ears! I just drove both of these cars yesterday and agree with most everything you said. Q5 was definitely quieter. But the seat in the Q5 was way too narrow and the left side bolster was pressing into my left leg so much my leg still hurt the next day. I drove a Q5 Prestige trim with the ventilated seats and they were the least comfortable seats of all 5 cars I test drove yesterday....which sucks because other than that I loved the Q5 and would buy it but the seat is a non-starter.

FYI, after 2 years, her Q5 was burning a quart of oil every 3000 miles. Dealer said that was normal. We disagreed.
true Audi Q5 is a piece of crap, dealing with burning oil every 500 miles with only 100 miles on it, mechanic advised changing the engine or replace the piston ring ,cost around $5400 with labor. still making payment on it do not go with audi Q5 , disappointed

I am seriously considering on picking up the Q5 within the next couple of days. You said the Audi felt a bit tighter, as far as comfort level goes. I’m 5‘10 and I have not look at the Q5 yet. I just wanted to get an idea. Thanks for your reply! BTW my wife has the 2019 Acura RDX and I love everything about it! Drives like a monster when you needed to, very comfortable and spacious, and the cabin ride is very quiet 🤫 🙂

Sukh Brar is correct. If you drive them both for an hour or even 30 minutes you will see the Audi is better.
I actually drove them both back to back.
The Audi Q5 feels more refined, it's quieter and the engine is a lot smoother and feels more premium.
He mentioned that the Audi and the Acura has the same decibel readings which is false.
At the 13:17 mark of the video he mentioned the Acura has a reading of 75 db.
At the 19:21 mark of the video he mentioned the Audi has a reading of 73 db.
But yet he said they're both are the same decibel readings even though he did say the Audi feels like it's a lot quieter, that's because it is quieter. He must be getting paid by Acura.
The Acura is a nice vehicle but it was a lot noisier and the engine feels unrefined compared to the Audi and Audi has been doing turbos for a very long time and perfected the 2.0 turbo that every manufacturer tries to copy. Acura/ Honda just recently got into doing turbo.
If you drive them both back to back you will see what I mean.
Acura shouldn't even be considered luxury. I test drove a tlx the other day and it was not only ugly, but drove like a Honda. The Q5 blows the Acura out of the water

I respect your opinion, but that will also be like saying that "Lexus" drives like a Toyota, "infinity" like Nissan and in Audi's case like a Volkswagen.
A TLX isn’t the same as the RDX and that was the old TLX. Test drive the new TLX, I guarantee you won’t be thinking what you thought of the previous TLX

Sukh Brar couldn’t agree more. My parents have a 2019 Rdx, but we were going for an Audi Q5. We really only didn’t get it because the lease was going to be pretty expensive. So we went with the Rdx, we will hopefully lease a brand new bmw or Audi after the Rdx 3 year lease is over. But we tested out the Audi, it’s a complete difference. Much quieter, smoother, and sleek. It’s a beauty. We love the Rdx it’s a nice ride, but there’s a big change once you get in the Audi.
