I make these with just white vinegar, and we put them on avocado toast or use them as a topping in rice bowls. I'll have to try your recipe, looks great! We sometimes use pickled eggs sliced on our Avocado toast, really good too!
I love shallots. I love lime. I love Apple Cider Vinegar. I see a winner. What are you lovely little jars called? I'm always on the hunt for good storage jars.
To properly preserve you need to follow very very specific rules with percentages of acidity and salitness and sweetness. These are just "quick" pickled and thus have to be stored in the fridge and eaten a bit faster than properly preserved onions.
This looks yummy. I usually make this with red wine vinegar, red onions and salt - delicious too.
Cutting them on the meat slicer works great also!!!!! When I worked at the Calgsry Tower we used to put thfm on the burgers. They MADE The Burger!!!!!

They are from the brand "Weck".
Yummy and tasty
We've got to make these for our next healthy recipe! Thanks! Love the tip on de-spicing the onions. Does this help with the crying too?
Well, the crying happens while cutting so by the time it hits the colander I'm finished crying 😂
Delicious
I love your recipes, thank you 😊 and also those jars!!! where do you get them from?
They are from the brand Weck. I link to them in my shop: greenhealthycooking.com/shop/
Place a glass of water near the cutting board to prevent tearing.
After you peel onions put them in a bowl of water for few mins and you will not tear up 😀
Unable to get any limes at this moment. What if I use lemon as a substitute? Will it drastically change something?
Lemons will work perfectly in this recipe.
@@Greenhealthycooking Delighted to hear that, thank you☺️
Do you store them in the marinade if you’re not using them all at once? Thanks!
yes!
how can something pickled last for only a week? It's a means of preserving.

is it onion?
Shallots are a type of onion that tastes very mild.
